Lori buried her head into his chest and started to cry. "I knew you would come." she gripped him tighter. "Everything hurts." her legs wobbled.

Roy instinctively took Lori's weight as she staggered, and ultimately ended up picking her up completely. "It's okay now, love. You're safe now, and we'll make sure you're taken care of."

Lori buried her head into Roy's neck clinging to him gentle. "OK." she mumbled. "The medics are here sir." Riza appeared at his side.

Roy glanced up. "Good. You got the guy detained?" He asked, standing with Lori in his arms to greet the medics.
|
"Yes sir. He's not comfortable either." Riza's eyes darkened. Lori glanced at the medics then at Roy. "Don't leave me." she whispered looking terrified.

Roy shook his head. "No, I won't leave you. I'm right here, I promise." He said, holding onto her tightly.

The medics smiled at Lori. "We need to take a look at you." the girl gestured to the stretcher. "How about you two sit here? The president can sit behind you." Lori nodded "OK."

Roy nodded and placed Lori gently on the stretcher, moving to sit behind her. He never let go of her hand. "Are you comfortable? Do you need me to move at all?"

"No." Lori leaned against him and let the nurses check her over nearly crushing his hand as they looked her over. When they where done she curled against him and buried her head into his chest.

Roy nodded and held her close, only moving when the nurses needed him to, and moving back immediately after. Once they were done, he picked her up. "Let's go home, okay? We'll swing by and pick up May- Al and Gemini are still looking after her- and we'll go home and rest. Riza can take care of interrogations."

"They must be worried." Lori mumbled. "Roy...he..." tears appeared in her eyes. "Really got to me." she started to cry in earnest.

Roy hugged her. "Shh...it's okay, my love. You're safe now. I'm so sorry I let this happen to you. But I'm here now and I'm going to protect you."

"I was so scared." Lori hiccuped. "But I know you would come for me. I knew he didn't stand a chance and that you would hold me tight and not let go."
|
"Of course." Roy said. "Always. I'll always come for you."
|
Lori buried her head into his shoulder and cried into it. Eventually she tired herself out and fell asleep her head still on his shoulder.

While this was happening, Roy left the place, leaving instructions for everyone. He took Lori home, deciding to call Gemini and Al and ask them to babysit until morning.

In the morning May started to cry and wouldn't stop. Al groaned "I have a headache." he sighed. "Poor baby."
Lori woke with a groan. "Roy?" she called blinking a little. |
Gemini was doing her best to keep the baby happy, though it wasn't doing much good. "At least this will be good practice for when we're parents someday."
Roy woke up instantly. "What? Are you okay?" He asked. He'd barely slept the whole night for fear of something happening. |
Al chuckled. "I think we'll have a kid when we are both way, way older." he sighed as May fussed.
"Where's May?" Lori asked frowning a little. "Can you to get her?" she wanted to hold her baby as tight as she could. |
Gemini nodded, shifting the baby to try and make her more comfortable. Way older. As much as I like kids, I don't want to go through this for a long time." She said.
"She's safe. Al and Gemini are taking care of her." Roy assured. "Though they're probably more than ready to give her back. Come on, let's get dressed and we'll go get her together." |
"We may be like fifty before we have kids." Al joked.
Lori nodded and got dressed. She clung to Roys hand as they walked to the hospital hiding behind him at some points. When she saw May she rushed forward. "Oh my little angel." May stopped crying as soon as she was in Lori's arms. |
Gemini smiled tiredly as she handed May over to her mother. "I'm glad to see you're okay. We were worried." She said.
"Thank you two for watching May all night. I'm sorry I had to do that to you. I owe you." Roy said, coming up behind Lori to hug her and May at the same time. |
May cooed softly and buried her head into Lori's shoulder. "I sorry my sweet angel." she rocked May gentle. "Mommy will never leave you." she snuggled back against Roy.

"It's alright, we were happy to help." Gemini smiled at the sight of the small family all together. "I wonder if that's what my parents looked like, when they had me." She mused.

"I don't know...I hope so." Al smiled a little thinking of his mother. "Though my dad left my mom so I rather doubt it."
Lori frowned at them. "No being sad." she showed them May's face. "You can't stay sad while looking at this face." |
