hahaha well i didn't mean it as a bad thing [lol] just that, as you said, no really big expansion packs of all different varieties

Bearzy 10-22-2015 02:15 AM

Yeah, I know, I just have a shitty sense of humour [lol]

Linnea 10-22-2015 02:16 AM

nah you're ok [yes] it's just late and i didn't want to offend hahaha next time i'll be ready!

so since this is a sims binge thread, what is the longest you've been on a sims bender?

Bearzy 10-22-2015 06:08 AM

This current one has been like 2 months so far, but it is slowly starting to dwindle as excitement for NaNoWriMo picks up

Linnea 10-22-2015 09:37 PM

ah so like over all and playing lots of days in a row. gotcha. i was more like thinking hours straight [lol]

and i've heard of that, the writing thing. kat dakuu told me about it and it seems a cool idea!

Bearzy 10-23-2015 04:47 AM

Oh, I once played 8 hours pretty much non stop (forgot to save too, lost all my data for about 5 hours worth of that day. REGRETS.)

And NaNo is very cool. I may be overestimating myself for it this year though. /so/ /much /planning/

Linnea 10-25-2015 08:13 PM

ok so my honest to god, longest time i ever played was when my brother got sims 3 for the xbox he has and i shit you not, i played that game for 17 hours straight. i stopped for bathroom breaks and to get food, but that was it. constant

i guess i never really learned much about it except you have to meet a word goal, is that correct?

Bearzy 10-25-2015 11:43 PM

17 hours?! holy shit? I don't even know how you could do that.
And yeah, the goal is at the end of the month have 50k words (or more, if you're ambitious). Beyond that, there aren't many rules except that all words have to be written during November. Any other rule is technically self imposed, but it would be against the spirit of the month to include, say, forum posts and skype conversations. It is "Novel" writing month after all. The website is Nanowrimo.org if you wanna check it out and we have a thread over in the writer's conference for discussing our word counts/planning/whatever.

Linnea 10-26-2015 12:18 AM

i didn't mean to do that [lol] my mom had this sweet blow up queen size mattress that was like two mattresses thick and i had spent the night on it and just sat there playing [oops] my family is a bunch of gamers, even my mom, so it wasn't too bad because my mom and bro were playing their games too [yes]

ah ok, i get it now. that is really neat though and i wasn't in the middle of getting my master's at the moment i might partake but i am far too busy [gonk] and probably will be for the next year and a half or so

Bearzy 10-26-2015 04:03 AM

Ahh, that kind of makes sense then... but still! That's a very long time.

And yes! Your masters is much more important!

Linnea 10-27-2015 02:02 AM

yup! one day i'll have a fancy master's in psychology [yes] that is, if i can make it through this statistics class [gonk] it's too bad there isn't a psychology path in the sims [lol] it would be like doing homework!

Bearzy 10-27-2015 03:12 AM

Hahaha. That would be the best kind of homework!

Linnea 10-27-2015 04:12 AM

it sure would! i'd always be eager and willing [lol]

Bearzy 10-28-2015 01:46 AM

Ohh yeah. So would I.

Linnea 10-28-2015 02:30 AM

a master's in simology [lol] that would be awesome. i've definitely put in the hours but i'm not sure i'd get a lot of job offers... in fact, i don't even know what they could be [roll]

on another note, bearzy, you and i look like we could be from the same universe i think [yes]

Bearzy 10-29-2015 01:55 AM

I think you could get a job playtesting new expansion packs? That would be really fun!
And oooh, we do too.

Linnea 10-29-2015 02:34 AM

now that is something i could get into! sign me up if that career option ever becomes available.

Bearzy 10-29-2015 06:14 AM

Actually I'd love to playtest any sort of game.

Linnea 11-01-2015 06:20 PM

what tends to be your typical sort of game genre?

Bearzy 11-01-2015 07:32 PM

RPGs mostly, I love Mass Effect & Dragon age in particular. I also have a weird obsession with the Assassin's Creed games, but I'll basically play anything if it's available, even sports games.

Linnea 11-01-2015 07:36 PM

that's pretty cool, i mean to not be so drawn to one particular genre. i find most people are a bit snobby about their favorites [lol] i am too though

Bearzy 11-01-2015 08:34 PM

I tend to be snobby about individual games, like if I play a game and it's shite I'll be snobby about that. But not about whole genres because stuff changes constantly.

Linnea 11-01-2015 11:31 PM

this is very true. i like when they mix things up like have some sports intertwined with an RPG... much like blitzball in final fantasy X ;)

Bearzy 11-02-2015 01:10 AM

Y'know, I've never played final fantasy? It seems weird, but I just haven't.

Linnea 11-02-2015 03:37 AM

really? well they are a must if you like RPG's and you already said you did soooo you should check em out! there are a lot. my mom used to play them on the old nintendos when i was a kid. i blame her for the final fantasy affinity.
