Tony would never admit it, but he didn't really want Lori any closer to the stone if she zoned out again like she did today. Not that she couldn't control it, but at the current moment she didn't have control over it. "Sure, we should probably bring Thor with us though. Natasha and Clint and can stay to watch over your father." Tony commented watching Bruce shrug off her comment.
"It's alright, I get it. I'm not bothered by that. Besides more strength on this end might be a good idea just in case and we can keep in contact." Bruce was one of the other smarter ones here in the building minus Tony and Jarvus. Bruce was fine with being closer to Natasha after all since they had gotten so close together that is. "Alright then it's settled. Why don't we go back to our rooms and pack? Steve are you coming with us?" So far Tony, Lori, and Thor were going. It wasn't a fact on who else would be after the fire stone, but they could sure as hell use Steve on their team. (My girl will enter a bit later when I think of something) |
"That sounds good to me." Lori nodded and slowly pulled away from Tony. "I'll head home and pack up." She handed him her address and let there hands linger together for a second. "See you soon." she hurried off to go pack.
"I'll come with you might need the extra man power." Steve sighed a little and glanced at the map one last time. "This ought to be fun." he shook his head before heading upstairs to pack what he might need for this mission. |
Tony watched for a moment looking at her eyes as their hands lingered for a second. He turned with her address walking back to his room "Thor, follow her will you?" Tony spoke hearing Thor agree "Alright, Stark. We'll be back soon." Tony wanted her to be safe and Thor had the strength and mythical part of him to do just that plus more.
"Interesting room, kinda bland though. Where are you headed to?" Rose spoke sitting on the base of the open window in her sleeveless black sundress that went to her knees. She wore matching laced (with roses) tights with ankle boots that were flat, but had about an inch or two of a heel. Her arms or more like wrists were covered with matching gothic arm warmers that laced up. She had a cute factor going on with the lace, but her eyes and hair made that even out with a simple, 'I bite' gleam in her eyes showing she wasn't that helpless. Her make up was simple with black eyeliner that was thin for a natural look and a skintone eye shadow. Her lips were it's regular pinkish-red shade which was natural for her. (Dress - Armwarmers - Ankle Boots - Tights) |
Steve raised his eyebrow a little. "Your lucky I saw you ahead of time or else I would have taken you out. You shouldn't be in someone's room unless they are in there." he examined her for a brief second and went to back. "Since you are not a part of the team I can not disclose any information to you." he dug out his out army bag and started to fill it feeling kind of nostalgic. "Also don't sit there you might fall out. We are about fifty floors up so maybe a hundred feet from the ground...how did you even get in here? I could have sworn I locked the door."
|
Thor follows Lori closely keeping an eye on her as he was dressed in more civilic clothing to attract less attention. But being a god or a demi god that is, meant he attracted alot of attention. It would have been better for Natasha to tag along more indescretly than himself. "Is your place far? I could always fly you over there?" Though Tony had a ride for Lori and Thor set up if she wanted to ride in the car or not.
"I doubt it, there is only one actual born human in this room. And it isn't me." Rose listened to him, goodness he was such a goody two shoes. "You're making yourself sound old, talking about not doing this and that." Rose stood to where she was on the window base instead of sitting and had one hand on the side to merely balance herself. "Okay then I won't sit and besides. Even if you lock the door, the window itself was unlocked. Who says I use doors? Too obvious and annoying to mess with." Then she wondered something watching him "You talk about rules as if it's absolute. Don't you ever have some fun?" Rose met him just yesterday, but he already seemed stiff and serious about everything. She wanted to find a way to make him liven up a bit. |
"I have fun when I'm not on a job. None of that explains how you climbed fifty feet up." Steve went over and picked her up placing her on the floor closing and locking the window. "I just want you to be careful is all. If we were closer to the ground it wouldn't matter as much." he went back to packing.
"It's far but." Lori turned the corner and pointed to a black Impala "I have that." she smiled at Thor. "Not sure you'll fit your kind of big." she went to the drivers seat and started the car hoping he fit. |
(warning major toothache, wont be long)
Rose had the idea of falling backwards to land on some vines from the ground, but was caught off guard when he picked her up to place her inside. She felt silly being as dramatic as she was acting and thought about what he just did. "My power revolves around nature, so it bends to my command, and can protect me if I am in danger. If needed to be I can even bring it to life to fight for or with me." Rose stated walking over sitting on the bed. "I know you can't tell me anything because you don't know me or my motives yet. But can I at least tag along?" Rose asked calmly and less odd as she was acting. Thor walked over to the passenger side, getting in and having sat in a smaller vehicle before and luckily was able to fit with an inch between him and the roof. "Kind of a small machine isn't it?" Thor admitted not bothering with the seatbelt for two reasons. One he was a demi god and two he didn't know what a seat belt was. |
"I'll have to pass it by the others." Steve finished packing and slung his bag over his shoulder feeling a brief flash of deja vu and had to take a moment before he continued on. "Come on if they others say yes you'll have to be ready to go by this afternoon."
Lori shrugged. "I've never needed a big car and besides the Impala is big by car standards." she drove for a while and then pulled into a parking lot next to a apartment building. "This is the place." she headed into the building and went up to her room packing her suit and everything else she could think of. |
Rose hoped they would say yes, she didn't want to hide out on a plane or something in the back or luggage area just to figure out where they were going. That would cause a lot of problems for them and her, but she would do it. She would find a way to where ever they were going. Rose noticed he paused for a moment and it caught her attention. She felt drawn to him then again she admired him throughout everything she knew about him. It wasn't a crush just yet, just her teasing him and what not. The fact she got to meet him was a million in one seeing as she was never let out of the house. "Alright then, let's get this over with." she followed him to where the others would be.
Tony had his own luggage back and a suitcase which was most likely his suit involving Jarvis. This way even if the bracelets didn't work he would have a back up and hopefully he wouldn't have to. Though he had a feeling he would need it on this trip. Thor followed her going up watching around him just in case anyone tried to pull anything. "Are you done yet?" Thor asked feeling as if they were being watched by someone or something. He wasn't sure what or where, but he knew he was being watched. This time it wasn't by his half brother Loki. |
"Yep." Lori dragged her suitcase to the door. She checked all her windows making sure they where closed and locked before going out to the hall with her things locking her door behind her with a note to her landlord that she would send them the rent money if she wasn't home before it was due. "Lets go." she slipped into her car starting to feel like she was being watched. She scanned the sidewalk and the windows of the apartment building as she started the car.
Steve shook his head a little and approached Tony having a feeling he was going to regret this. "Tony, Rose here was wondering if she could come with. I think it's fine so long as she doesn't even think of being out of my sight." he glanced at the girl a slight frown on his face. |
Thor followed her closely to the car until she got in then got in himself. "I see you noticed as well. Don't focus on it, focus on getting back to the others alright?" Thor would take care of anyone who was a threat to them well more like to her.
Tony looked over, he didn't understand the girl even a bit. She runs off not wanting to be a villain then runs from the heroes who try to help her, and now she wants to join up on the trip to find the fire stone? "How much does she know?" Tony asked Steve. Rose stood there listening as they talked about her like she wasn't even there. She was starting to wonder if this was a usual thing or not, but they were the only three currently in the room. Banner was elsewhere and Natasha had changed to join up with Clint. |
"Nothing." Steve sighed. "I didn't think it was wise...and I'm sure Lori would be upset if we went telling people without her." he shrugged a little. "I don't get it either Tony." he dropped his voice to barely a whisper. "I don't like the idea of leaving her somewhere we can't watch her. I have the feelings there's more to this then we know."
Lori nodded and drove to the tower hoping they wouldn't run into trouble. When the tower come into view she let out the breath she hadn't know she was holding. |
"You know, if you don't make up your mind soon. I'll just sneak onto whatever you guys are leaving on and coincidentally" she made sure that sounded sarcastic as she continued without stopping "meet up with you guys before you hit your destination. That's if you want to make a challenge out of it. Okay more like a game." Rose spoke "Come on, I'll tune out everything you guys say if you don't want me to listen. And I'll even play nice while tagging along." The only thing she didn't say was if she had to sneak and follow them then she would not listen to a word anyone would say. Not to mention she wished she didn't say even that. "But I only listen to him" pointing to Steve while leanding on the arm of the couch waiting for someone to say something.
"Well no point in going through all the work of saying 'no' if she is just going to find another way. So since she seems attached to you, you can be her babysitter." he patted him on the shoulder as Jarvis indicated "Miss Hunter and Thor have arrived sir" "Thank you Jarvis, Steve why don't you go make sure she gets her things ready." "Don't need to Stark, already have my bags here." she indicated the two black luggage bags over by the wall. "I had snuck in and went back outside only to climb through a window to say hi. Not too bad, it was fun at least." she had more fun doing things the difficult way than the easy way. "Well I guess that takes care of that, why did you have your things packed? Did you know we were going to let you?" Tony was starting to wonder if she was psychic or not. "Not psychic, just figured there was a reason I was here and better figure out why or what is going on." Rose answered waiting for someone else to speak up next. "Whaaat? It pays to be ready for anything." Rose stated simply. "We should get you inside quickly once we get there to make sure no one would attack you." Thor spoke simply and a bit quiet in case anyone was listening in. He waited for the car to come to a stop and when it did he got out going to her side of the car to keep anything from getting to her if that was the case. So far the one watching them was just watching and waiting. |
Lori took her bags out of the back and hurried inside before anything could happen taking a moment to compose herself before she walked in to join the others. She stared at Rose as Steve frowned at her "Did I miss something?" she frowned.
"She seems to think that if she followed us there would not be reprecussions." Steve turned to glance at Lori. "She wants to come with us." he explained briefly. "Well..." Lori took a moment to think about it. "I don't know why she would want to she didn't seem to trust or like us before." she frowned. "If she's looking for a free ride the she should just ask." |
"Not like you could stop me. The only person in this room with enough power to stop me I would say would be her." Looking at Lori then she listened to them more. She felt a dangerous pull coming from Lori but wouldn't admit it. Though she knew nothing about the girl. Then she added in to pretty much answer the question that floated about. "I hate people, I don't like anyone. But this is the first time in a long time I'm allowed to run around and do whatever I want. It's not like I'm going to attack you guys or anything. Besides I did ask. That's why the men are talking." She knew never to let men talk ever. They never stopped it seemed. Rose was really starting to wonder what the point of asking was, she should have just snuck on anyways without even letting them know she was back. That way it would be less of a hassle. Stark may have said yes, but the others...well Steve kept seeming like he didn't want to take her along.
Maybe the guy in the mask was right. Maybe she was too much of an odd freak like person to ever fit in with others. She wasn't trying to or caring to want to. But she craved to be around others similar to her. Why did people look up to the Avengers? She couldn't see it at this moment. "Hell I had better luck dealing with the masked guy who tried to kill me. At least he was more interesting than this." She was getting bored of waiting, if Steve was the person she had to convince, though she thought she just did before they came downstairs. Then this would get no where. "Hey like I said, I don't care. Just don't get in the way." Tony spoke adding "Steve is your babysitter, not me. I'm keeping an eye on Lori." Tony said placing an arm over her shoulder as if to say it was more interesting and easier to watch over Lori. "Well, no reason to leave her behind. Never know what she could do to the city or the tower while we're away. Besides I already said she could come, since we're all ready to go we should probably get on the jet now sooner than later." Tony spoke helping Lori with her bags watching Rose to go over and get hers. They had wheels on them so it was easier for her to move. |
"I agree with Tony. You can come just remember that I'm keeping my eye on you until we know we can trust you." Steve stared at her for a second and then helped her things on board. "The choice to tell you what we are doing is up to Lori." he finished helping Tony get everything aboard.
"I'm going to wait a while to tell you." Lori sighed a little. "If you want to help us that is. You don't have to of course." she blushed a little as Tony held her shoulders and let him put her things on the jet. She followed her things on board hoping that the girl would become a friend there where far to little girls on the team. |
"Oh I don't care what you guys are up to. I just want to see more of the world." Rose spoke quietly though she was quite curious she was starting to feel like she was doing too much to get others to like her. Maybe it was time to tone it down a bit and just well relax. It's not like her life was in any danger with them around her and if it was she had a great resolution to fixing that. Rose stayed quiet as she boarded the jet with the others sitting farther towards the back away from them. Sure she wanted to get to know others and let them get to know her. But she wasn't really someone who cared for being around people. She focused on her thoughts, all she ever knew was that stupid house that she couldn't ever leave. Did she really escape it this time? Was she let go? She had no actual idea.
Tony lead the way to the jet going on first, he didn't bother keeping an eye on Rose since that was Steve's job now. But he did tell Jarvis to go on autopilot to their destination. He sat down in the pilot chair "Do you know how to fly a jet?" he asked Lori figuring he would explain it to her if she didn't know and if she did she could take the co pilot seat. Thor had chosen to sit on the opposite side no one sat on as he wondered if his brother Loki truly wasn't behind this or not. |
"Well come on board." Steve lead the way and chose a seat smiling at her. "Everyone deserves a shot to prove themselves." he relaxed against his seat. "I'm sure it's not your brother." he had noticed the look on Thor's face. He should be locked up...right?"
"I have no idea how to drive this thing." Lori stared at the controls blinking. "I would be afraid that I would crash." she backed away a little grimacing. "I'll stick to cars and none flying vehicles thank you." |
Thor nodded "Aye he is, but Loki has gotten out once before. It wouldn't be a shock to me if he escaped again and I'm sure that time will come. Although it's in his mind to do something like this, it's too small minded for him." Thor was giving his brother credit for being so smart on the things he believed in or wanted. However, he couldn't really tell anyone where or what Loki was up to. He wasn't in the confinement either, but if Thor really told them, well he feared the worse.
"I'm certain he's right Thor, I heard about the attack the first time your brother in green showed up. He always seemed to think big during that battle, I doubt this is his style." Rose said even though she really didn't know Loki at all or Thor. She didn't care to get to know others. Tony reached out grabbing her arm pulling her towards him "Come on, at least let me show you the controls. Who knows who will get hurt on the mission and unable to fly back. You may be the only other one besides me to be able to fly this." Tony knew that Steve could fly it if he had to and Jarvis could auto pilot it, but the guy was good at making up excuses. |
Lori stared at Tony for a second then pointed to the auto pilot button. "Jarvis could always fly." she pointed out. "All I have to do is push that button." she smiled at him. "Show me how to turn this thing on and off then I'll let Jarvis take control from there." she could be just as stubborn as him.
"Even if it is Loki it's not like we can't handle him. We did it once we can do it again. I'm more worried about what Hydra has up there sleeves. I doubt Loki would be working for them and they don't take orders from anyone but there leader." Steve frowned a little. "I haven't dealt with them since I took on Red Skull so who knows how they've changed." |
(this may not be long, but at least you'd get a reply. Ah yes I did reply the stupid computer erased it twice. So in the end I didn't get to post it. Sorry sorry.)
"Alright, but if for some reason Jarvis and down and no one else can fly it. How do you plan to escape?" Tony smirked wondering if she truly had an answer that question or not. Then again he just like the fact she was challenging him back on who was being more stubborn. "This is how you turn it on" showing her a red button. "It's also the same way to turn it off." Tony then showed her some basic weapon buttons in case there was an attack. Rose stayed quiet looking out of the window wondering just what to do. She could easily tell everyone she was supposed to be spying for someone else and ...well she wasn't really afraid if the bad guy (so she thinks) would get back at her for turning on him. The problem was he was the reason why she was able to escape from her home life and get away. She felt as if she owed him and if she did find a way to live her life away from him. Who knows who he would hurt because of her betrayal. |
"If Jarvis was down would the plane even start?" Lori asked frowning eyeing the buttons they would attack her. "So that buttons turns it on. Good to know I remember that but I would still prefer to let you, Clint or Jarvis drive." she grimaced a little. She had been this way when she had started driving as well. It had been a whole year before she finally manage to drive a car without freaking out.
|
"Just because Jarvis is the main computer system doesn't mean he's my only option if things get bad. I still have another older system that could work if needed be." Tony didn't understand why women always wanted to make things complicated well more than they already were. Tony shrugged as he focused on the destination without saying it aloud and already made sure Jarvis wouldn't say it either. So Lori wasn't like most of the girls he met who either swooned at the sight of him or didn't care to hide they wanted him. This was going to be quite the challenge for him. He wasn't used to women, except Natasha, not to take any interest in him.
Rose kept to her thoughts wondering what she could do. Was she really going to become this helpless to put others in danger either way just because she was protecting herself? How did she wind up in the predicament anyways? Rose wondered who was worse, this stranger she met who was willing to help her....or SHIELD who kept trying to get to her? She knew what it meant to be a hero, a villain, and a bit about shield, but she knew absolutely nothing about this man. Realizing that she herself got herself out of the house, he just kept her from SHIELD...wait a minute. 'No way in hell I'm playing a damsel' That thought irritated her more than anything she was currently thinking of. She was far from weak. (Rose would speak to someone, but seeing as she is the one they have to keep an eye on, no topics come to mind and I'm not asking 'how's the weather' lol) |
Steve watching Rose a soft frown on his face. He had never been good with talking to girls in fact the first whole conversion with Peggy had started off terrible. He took a deep breath "So..." he searched his mind for a topic. "What are you planning on doing when we stop? Bad topic Steve." he grimaced. "We aren't going to have fun." he ran a hand threw his hair. "Sorry I'm bad at talking to girls." ''You talk to me fine." Nat smirked. "You don't count." Steve snorted then ducked as Nat threw something at his head.
"Oh...OK." Lori blinked a little. "So if Jarvis isn't working will the back up computer start by it's self or does one of these buttons turn it on because if you think I can find my way home with out directions you would be wrong." she snorted. "Though I could just let my powers burn a map into the console." |
Rose glanced up, she didn't think he was talking to her, but then again the rest were in on what was going on. Rose shrugged "Follow if I'm allowed, it's not like there is anything else to do. Unless you don't want me to follow, but whatever it is you are doing. I can be really helpful I'm sure." There was more to her than meets the eye and she wasn't as childish or crazy as she seemed to be. Rose watched Steve and quietly laughed. This was certainly cute for her to see and a little more emotions than when she met them earlier. "Nice reflexes, but not sure about what I'm going to do. Maybe I can learn something from you guys, not about what you're going to do, just I guess how you do it." Rose wasn't going to say she sucked at talking to others too.
Tony listened to what Lori was saying nodding until he heard her say something about burning a map into the console. He grabbed her hands quickly "No, no. No burning any holes in my computers." that made Tony shudder to re think maybe he should build his stuff with fireproof metal next time around. "Destination in ten minutes, sir." Jarvis said on the intercom where all could hear catching everyone's attention. Tony nodded "Thanks Jarvis. Are you guys ready? Stay close to one of us." He would say 'stay close to me' but that sounded like he was giving an order and right now he wasn't going to sound like Capt. |
