"You would think so." Aurora jumped to her feet hands creating a giant fire shield as the winter soldier began to fire at them drawing the attention of the hydra soldiers. "But since he has friends who outnumber us." she sighed grimacing then looked to Tony. "Know would be a good time to change."

Tony quickly put the suit on and took off in the air firing at the Hydra men hoping the others would be alright.

Following along, Steve took his shield out of the backpack he was carrying and started to fight.

Gemini brought fire to her hands and jumped into the fray. "Just a heads up, you guys should keep away from me just in case!" She warned.

Aurora dropped the shield and launched into the fight keeping close to Nat and Clint the two human members of there team smirking when Bruce changed and joined the fight. So for they had the upper hand until she saw the Winter soldier stalking towards her hand resting on a gun in his hand. She froze a little and shook slightly then with a tightening of her mouth she attacked him scowling when his metal arm didn't metal glad that he had to take his partially melted googles off to glare at her.

Through the crowd, Steve saw Aurora facing off against the Winter Soldier. Going into panic mode, he made his way quickly towards them. He got there just in time to see the man taking his goggles off, and pulled up short. He knew those eyes. He'd know them anywhere. "But...that's impossible..."

Gemini was plowing through enemies, though she was trying to hold back, the Aether kept overpowering her attacks. She was quickly losing her grip on her powers. I have to get out of here, fast... She thought, looking for an escape route. Too many emotions swirled around her, clouding her thoughts. Stumbling, she let loose a stream of curse words in English, Japanese and Gaelic.

Tony landed in front of her and blasted the Hydra members. "The team is retreating there are just to many." He held his hand out. "Want a ride?" For once his voice wasn't dripping innuendo.

Aurora was relieved when Steve came to help but blinked when he stopped short. She distracted the man who had turned to glance at Steve in a flash he starting walking towards her growling when she burnt his mask off revealing James Buchanan Barnes aka Bucky. Aurora was panting unuse to using so much of her power when the man grabbed her arm she tried to burn him but her powers fizzled a little.

Gemini stumbled again and caught herself. "I would, but it'll have to wait. Get everyone as far away as possible, and hurry!" She said. When she looked up, her eyes had turned ominously red.

Despite his shock, Steve jumped into action the second he realized Aurora was in trouble. Running forward again, he pulled the man- my friend- away from her. "Aurora, go! Run!"

Aurora glanced at Steve worried then hurried away going Nat and the others as Nat helped Bruce turn back.

"Alright but I'll come right back." Tony promised and flew over to the group covering them as the retreated all except Aurora who was waiting for Steve a worried look on her face.

Steve was torn. He knew they were falling back, but he couldn't seem to move. Bucky didn't seem to recognize him, even when he called his name. He noticed that Aurora was still hanging back, and decided it was too dangerous to stay. Turning, he ran towards the others, grabbing Aurora's hand as he did. Just as they cleared the tree line, everything behind them fell silent. He turned around to see people dropping. It looked like someone had dropped a rock into a pool of water.

Gemini managed to hold herself off until she felt everyone move out of her range. The second they were clear, she gave up the struggle over her powers and let them loose. Within the span of one minute, a ripple of total silence spread out in a circle from her, covering most of the base. Moments later, every person affected fell to the ground at once. A few started screaming and thrashing, but many didn't move again at all. Gemini fell to her knees, clutching her head in her hands as the last few people fell silent.

Aurora stared at his hand unable to keep the blush off her face managing to keep up with the super soldier. "Are you alright Cap?" she asked once they had stopped to catch there breaths.

Ironman slowly approached her. "Well it's effective I'll give you that."

Steve turned to look at Aurora, and his expression was tortured. "I...I don't know. That was..." He couldn't put a thought together. "It's not...possible."

Gemini looked up, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I can't handle this anymore. Hundreds of nightmares...and I saw all of them. I killed them, and the last thing they saw was..." She stopped, unable to continue.

"Hey they would have done worse to us." Tony stepped out of his suit and gave her a gentle hug. "You saved us and the world."

"What? Steve what's wrong?" Aurora squeezed his hand frowning softly.

Gemini was shaking. "I don't want this...I used to cause good dreams. The Aether has twisted my healing into this...curse. It's better if I just stay away. If I hurt one of you...no, I'd rather die!"

Leaning back against a tree, Steve sighed. "The Winter Soldier. That was my...my best friend. Bucky. Except Bucky died...or I thought he did. I saw him...Aurora, what do I do?" He asked.

"Well...I'm not really sure. Your sure that was Bucky? How would he have survived that fall though...I've studied your case." Aurora admitted with a blush.

Tony frowned at her then grabbed her shoulders. "You listen to me. There is no reason for you to leave. You have to learn how to control it and how else are we going to help you if we don't see what you can do?"

Steve shook his head. "No, that actually makes it easier." He said. He didn't think he could retell the story. "I'm positive it was him. I'd know him anywhere, no matter how long it's been...how is he alive? Why...didn't he know me?" He asked.

Gemini reached up to wipe at her eyes. "A-are...are you sure? Is it really okay for someone like me to be around all of you?" She asked, not wanting to let herself hope.

"We let Bruce hang around us. Does that answer your question?" Tony smirked and offered his hand. "Want a lift back to the others." He grinned

"Maybe...he was captured during the war right and he was experimented on...maybe he's like you Steve a super soldier but he hasn't aged." Aurora chewed on her lip thinking.

Gemini allowed herself to smile, and reached up to take his hand. "Yeah, okay. I don't think I can walk right now anyway." She said, attempting to make light of things.

"I guess that makes sense." Steve said. He was starting to think properly again. "But that doesn't explain why he didn't know me. Unless Hydra did something to his memory..."

"That would make sense that way if he ran into anyone he knew be could just kill them." Aurora realized the others had wondered off well they talked but that didn't explain why she heard footsteps. She cried out as a fire was shot it grazed her arm causing her to say a most unladylike word. She turned and glared at the person paling when she saw the winter soldier she said the word again.

Tony grinned and got back into his suit. He lifted her easily into the boys arms "hold on." He took off flying to where the others had gathered noticing that Steve and Aurora weren't with them.

Steve stopped and turned sharply, pulling Aurora behind him and raising his shield all in one movement. "Aurora, are you going to be okay?" He asked, staring at the man who was no longer his best friend. "I need you to run and let the others know what's happening. I'll cover you, but you need to be fast."

Gemini kept her eyes closed until she was back on the ground. She didn't like being high up very much. "Hey...where's Aurora and Steve?" She asked as soon as she saw they were missing. She started to panic. Had she gotten them by accident? Were they okay?

"I'm not going to leave you to face him alone Captain!" Aurora grimaced and tore her shirt bottom tying it around her arm she let her fire encase her hands. "We can handle him together...or we can at least get him to be disoriented enough that we can run."

"they stopped to talk back there." Nat blinked when a shoot was fire she cursed and raced towards the sound.

Gemini experienced relief, confusion and worry all at once at Nat's statement. All of that turned into terror a second later when she heard a gunshot. Without thinking, she went to run and promptly fell flat on her face, her legs refusing to support her. She said a very dirty word and tried to pick herself up.

Steve sighed. He should have known Aurora wouldn't cooperate. "Alright fine, but if things get bad you have to leave." He said, even though he didn't know how he was going to enforce that rule.

"Right." Aurora blasted fire at Bucky though it was weaker then normal. She was glad when Nat appeared gun in hand the girl joined them firing at Bucky.

Tony blinked at Gemini and helped her up. "Don't try to help your to speak right know...besides Cap can handle himself." A explosion went off in back of him and he looked surprised.

Aurora had added her fire to Nat's bullets over heating them just enough that they would explode but she over did it and it was a bigger bang then she had predicted.

Gemini pouted angrily, but it just ended up looking cute. "I hate being useless." She said, giving u[ on trying to walk.

Steve had gone in for a close-up fight, but backed off when bullets started flying. Then one of the bullets exploded, and he had to use his shield to cover himself.

"My bad but it does make a good cover." Aurora looked to Nat who fired three more shoots then pulled Steve towards the others. Aurora blew those bullets up then raced after Nat hand slipping into Steve's "let's go!" She called to the others.

Tony lifted Gemini and followed Aurora the other Avengers stopping only when nine of them could breath. "Your hurt." He put Gemini down frowning at Aurora's wound.

Once they were all clear, Steve went straight to Aurora. "Let's see." He said, reaching to check her wound.

Finally able to move, Gemini also went to check on Aurora. "I can...heal it, if it's not too deep..." She said, still panting slightly.

"It's just a flesh wound." Aurora moved her hand away showing wound grimacing when she saw the blood. "OK it may be deeper then I thought. I can just burn it closed." She swallowed. "Or not." She had done that once and she never wanted to be in that kind of pain again.
