Gemini shrugged. "What else could it be? I'm worried about Aurora, though. I feel like the stone is poisoning her." She said.
Steve looked around at everyone else, at a loss for words. Finally, he managed to speak. "Someone get that stone out of here." |
"I think so too. I've never seen her like this." Tony sighed in relief when Thor appeared. "Finally."
Aurora saw Thor and took the box the fire stone was in hiding in one of the rooms locking the door behind her. |
"Oh, thank goodness. What took you so long? Never mind. Listen, we need you to take that stone and get it as far away from Aurora as possible." Gemini said.
Steve jumped up and ran for the door, but she closed it before he could get to her. "Aurora! Aurora, open up! Please, let me in!" |
((I have to have a gollum moment.))
"No you'll take it away. No way can have it. It's mine my own my precious." Aurora hugged the box to her and let it gentle. "Very well." Thor lead the way inside just in time to hear Aurora's Gollum moment. "Oh no she's quoting lines from Lord of the Ring's." Tony groaned a little. |
((Of course XD))
Hearing Aurora's crazy moment, Gemini blinked. Having grown up so secluded, she didn't know Lord of the Rings, so the reference was lost on her. "She's quoting what?" Steve turned to look at the others, clearly at a loss for what to do. Finding no answers there, he turned back to the door. "Aurora...if you don't come out, then I can't ever kiss you again. Are you okay with that?" |
"It's a serious of movie's you'll have to watch it sometime." Tony chuckled. "So long as she doesn't turn into the creature who said the line we should be good."
"So long as I have the precious I have no need for anything else." Aurora snarled at Steve. Tony rolled his eyes "I got this. How about a game of riddles then? Will you come out for that?" "Oh we love the riddles." Aurora slowly opened the door a crack. "What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?" she asked. |
Steve sighed, giving up and moving away from the door. "Are we actually going to reenact this scene?" He asked, mostly to himself.
Gemini blinked and moved a little closer. Riddles always intrigued her. "It's coal, right?" She answered, her curiosity getting the better of her. |
"Right." Aurora pouted softly and opened the door a little more.
"My turn." Tony smiled at her. "Romeo and Juliet are found dead on the floor in a bedroom. When they were discovered, there were pieces of glass and some water on the floor. The only furniture in the room is a shelf and a bed. The house is in a remote location, away from everything except for the nearby railroad track. What caused the death of Romeo and Juliet?" Aurora thought for a moment. "Oh Romeo and Juliet where fish. The rumble of the train knocked the tank off the shelf, it broke and Romeo and Julia did not survive." "Right." Tony blinked. "me next." Aurora opened the door more. "It speaks with a hard tongue, it cannot breathe, for it has no lung. What is it?" |
Gemini scratched her head a bit, perplexed. Then, she clapped her hands, a smile lighting up her face. "Oh, I know! It's a bell." She said. "My turn! What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment and never in a thousand years?"
Steve watched, partly intrigued and partly confused at this development. |
"The letter M." Aurora said with a smile opening the door enough that Tony could lunge in and tackle her to the ground.
"Little help!" Tony grunted when Aurora kicked him in the stomach. "Steve help hold her down." He was struggling to pry the box from her grip. |
Steve jumped forward to hold Aurora down. It was surprisingly difficult. "How is she this strong?" He gasped, struggling to keep her pinned.
Gemini also moved forward, trying to help pull the box away. |
"It's the stone." Tony grumbled glad when Thor helped Gemini pull the box from Aurora's hands.
Aurora screeched like a banshee. "No!" She clawed and kicked struggling harder to get to the box. Thor quickly vanished with the box and almost at once Aurora stopped struggling her face blank. |
Steve actually had to use his full strength to keep Aurora from killing them when the stone was taken from her. Once Thor disappeared, he sighed and slowly backed off, still nervous of what Aurora might do. "Aurora...?"
Gemini got sent flying by Aurora's flailing. Luckily, she rolled into her landing and came to a stop safely against the couch. "Holy crap..." |
"Steve?" Aurora looked confused. "What happened? Why am I on the floor?" She frowned examining the forming bruises, then at Gemini. "What did I do?"
"You have a hell of a punch." Tony pulled away as will rubbing his chin. |
Gemini sat up, rubbing her head. "I'm not mad at you." She said. "I'm sore, but I'm not mad at you. So if I randomly set on fire, it's not your fault."
Steve sighed, glad that was over. "The stone got to you again." He explained. "You turned into Gollum this time. Almost literally. But Thor got it away." |
Aurora looked pale. "Oh no. Oh no." She stood shaking. "No, no, no, no." She hugged herself. "It's all my fault I should have fought harder." She took a breath and backed away from them. "I'm so sorry."
"It's fine Aurora." Tony frowned at the girl. "It's fine. Nothing bad happened." |
Baffled by this, Steve too a step towards her. "It's okay, Aurora. You didn't do anything bad." He said, reaching tentatively out to her.
"Yeah, it's fine. The worst thing that happened was you came up with a few tough riddles." Gemini said, wondering why Aurora was so upset. |
Aurora fell into Steve's arms sniffling a little. "I'm so sorry." she repeating it surprised at how safe she felt tucked in Steve's arms.
Tony glanced at Gemini and shrugged. |
Steve held Aurora close. "It's alright. It's okay." He told her quietly.
Gemini raised an eyebrow and shrugged back. |
Aurora calmed down and stayed in Steve's arms.
"We'll just go." Tony smiled. |
Gemini nodded and walked back outside, shaking her head at all the craziness.
Steve held onto Aurora, even after she was calm. Once the others left, he pulled back a little to look at her. "Are you okay?" He asked. |
"No." Aurora sighed and pulled away. "I failed to protect the stone and then I let it possess me. On top of that know it's gone again after I promised I would bring it back." She glared at the floor.
Tony joined Gemini "So that was intense." He rubbed his stomach. "I think I have a bruise." |
"Aurora, I don't think there's anyone who could resist that thing. As it is, you're probably the only person in the universe who can hold it, and to resist it for as long as you did was amazing. Now that it's been put somewhere safe, it doesn't have to be your responsibility anymore." Steve said. "You did your job, and you did it amazingly. No one could have done better, and there's no one who would say you failed."
Gemini nodded. "Yeah. She's terrifyingly strong, even if it was the stone." She turned to look at him. "Are you going to be okay? I can literally feel your pain..." |
"With a little ice and a relaxing bath I should be fine." Tony smiled a little. "She is strong the stone just adds to that strength. Sucks to be punched by that almost like getting hit by a car."
Aurora shook her head but let the subject drop. "I'm sorry if I hurt you." |
Gemini gave a pained smile. "Try getting thrown by it." She said, absently rubbing the back of her head. "Now that the Aether's gone, I can probably use my healing powers again. I can only heal minor things, but I can at least take away any bruising you've got." She offered.
Steve shook his head. "You didn't hurt me. Actually, that's the first time in a while I've been able to use my full strength. It was kind of nice." He said with a smile. |
