One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2016 is to exercise more and lead a less sedentary life. I would like to be healthier and so will be tracking my exercise routine in this journal. Feel free to post and offer suggestions or encouragement!

Oops so it's looking like a long string of "none"s up there. I've been pretty sedentary. Most days I spend eight hours of the day sitting there studying, reading a textbook, listening to lectures, and whatnot. And the rest of the day, I am eating or sitting. o.o this cannot be good for my health...

Can you read while you walk?
You're the one listening to lectures right? Can you put them on like an mp3 or something and take a walk while listening to them. instead of say music. That way you're studying and getting the learning in that you need to. |
Well I wish I could just do something like that haha but I'm not only listening to the lectures <3 I have to follow along with the powerpoint. And if something is unclear, I have a pile of textbooks I can go through to read more about the topic :D and sometimes I have to rewind several time to listen again :D and if I can't find it in the textbook, then I google google google and read read read. And then practice practice practice questions

maybe you could listen to it once through on a walk? or.. how long are the lectures? are they super long lectures? cause sometimes it helps me to listen once and than go through to do notes./ watch the power points in your case |
The lectures are an hour to an hour and a half of dense material. I need the visuals to get the complete picture. And honestly some of them are not taught very well, which is why I can't just listen to them and have to rely on textbooks and other resources ^_^;

I feel like I want to find myself a running buddy...I think running would be a good way to be more active. And to have someone running with me would motivate me to run more frequently and consistently.

That is true...I think obligations prevent a lot of people from exercising who normally would be willing or happy to

burned 500 calories today doing various exercises. not feeling good enough when i saw my lunch alone was over 1k calories >.>
