Tony glowered at them both. "You are evil," he announced, getting up with the tatters of his dignity, brushing himself off. "Why are you harassing me?"
Steve shot him a bit of a warning look but laid off for now. |
"Because we can," Aurora said, shrugging a bit. She dragged a stool over and plopped down next to him. "Making any fun toys?"
Bucky ignored the look with the ease of very long practice. "Punk," he muttered. |
"Not at the moment." Tony pulled himself back onto his stool. "Working on some AI modifications for Dummy, You, and Butterfingers."
Steve snorted at him but started heading for their apartment again. |
"Aww, you're herding cats," Aurora teased. "Good luck with that."
|
Tony snorted. "Well, that's an apt analogy," he muttered. "Especially Dummy, he's the worst of the lot."
|
"You have nobody to blame for that but yourself," Aurora said, grinning. She gave Dummy a bit of a pat as the bot rolled by.
|
Tony grumbled but couldn't actually argue that point. Instead he redirected.
"So what brings you two pests to my lab today?" |
"What, we need a reason to see our favorite cousin?" Aurora asked, eyes innocently wide as she looked at him.
|
"See? Yes. Bother? No," Tony grumped, glowering a little at her. "I can see we're dealing with the latter here."
|
"We had a day off," Aurora shrugged. She grinned. "And security let us in. I think your AI likes us." Of course, they were both on first-name terms with Jarvis, but she still liked teasing Tony.
|
Tony huffed. "Jarvis, what have I told you about letting strange lunatics into the building?" he asked.
"Apologies, sir, but if I were to follow those rules I wouldn't be able to let you into your own building," Jarvis replied. |
Aurora couldn't help but laugh at that.
"I love your sass, Jarvis," she gasped. |
"Thank you," Jarvis said demurely. Tony scowled at the nearest camera.
"I did not program you with that," he groused. |
Aurora snickered and plopped down next to Tony.
"So? New toys? Yes please?" she asked, turning on a bit of puppy eyes. She knew he said he wasn't working on anything new, but that didn't mean he didn't have anything already made. |
"Nothing new yet." Tony shook his head a bit, scrubbing a hand through his hair. "Working on energy problems right now, but I'll get back to toys soon, promise."
|
"Oh ick," Aurora said, making a face. Things always got messy when Tony was working on energy problems. "Has it been bad?"
|
"Not too bad," Tony said with a shrug. "I mean, it's not time yet, but I had an idea, and it's not cooperating." He scowled.
|
"Which means you're probably about ready to punch a vampire in the face," Aurora translated, grinning a bit.
|
"Something like that." Tony made a face. "Alright, you know what, I'm stopping. Jarvis, put this on the back burner."
"Of course, sir." "Right." Tony sat up straight, looking at them. "Food? Anyone?" |
Aurora shrugged.
"Sure," she said. "We just came from getting coffee, though, so." |
Tony shrugged. "Just means I get to pick. Jarvis, I'm feeling Italian. Finger foods."
"Of course, sir." Jarvis sounded rather amused by this. |
Aurora snickered a bit.
"You must put up with so much, J," she commented, grinning and glancing at the nearest camera. |
"I don't believe put up with is the correct sentiment," Jarvis said after a moment. "Often I am quite amused."
Tony grumbled at that but went to go wash up a bit. "Don't gossip too much," he tossed back over his shoulder. |
"No more than usual," Aurora called back, grinning. She settled back down in her seat.
|
Tony snickered a bit at that, but he did end up spending the rest of the afternoon with them.
