Cal smirked and followed her. "What a talented actress." He remarked. He didn't fully believe that she hadn't been going to go with the man, but either way she'd had someone fooled.

Rosemary shrugged. "Probably. But if my sister says we should leave, then we should definitely leave." She said, turning to help him up. "C'mon. Can't leave anyone behind."

"We aren't take them." Lori snapped. "They'll slow us down and I just knocked out Elliot and you know him. He's not staying down for long. Let them get arrested."

"What is your problem?" Alex frowned then shivered when Lori glared at him.

"You two are my problem!" Lori snarled. "If you two had left us alone we wouldn't be in a cave!"

"If we had left you alone, that prissy prince would have dragged you back to your castle a week ago." Cal countered. "Of course, none of this would have happened if you had stayed there in the first place. But that's not what happened. You did what you had to do, just like my brother and I did what we had to do to survive. It's not our fault you two happen to be worth enough money to get us off the streets for life."

Rosemary growled in exasperation. "Is now really the time to argue?!" She said heatedly. "Lori, we can't leave them here. If they get arrested, they'll probably sell us out. And you just knocked out a royal guard- if there was any doubt we were treasonous before, it's gone now. If these two sell us out and we get caught, we don't just go back to being princesses. We get thrown in the dungeon. So I'm sorry but right now it's in our best interest to keep them in our sights."

"If they try to sell us out I'll just use my charm and make them believe they made me do it." Lori sneered glaring at Cal. "He can come." she nodded to the younger brother. "We'll get him to a town and then go off."

Alex blinked kind of surprised she agreed to take him. He sighed knowing this argument was probably get worse and decided to get the horses packed.

Rosemary sighed. That was the best she was going to get at that point. "Alright, fine..." She cast a glance at Alex, glad they were bringing him along.

Cal shrugged and started getting his own horse ready to go. They could go ahead with Alex if they wanted- he would let them. But they couldn't stop him from following to make sure they treated his brother right.

Lori helped her sister on to her horse and struggled onto her own once they where packed. "Lets go." she waited for Alex to mount before heading out.

"She's kind of intense." Alex fell back to ride beside Rose.

Rosemary nodded. "She's passionate, and really protective of me. I'm used to it. She's only like that because she cares so much." She said quietly.

Cal followed on foot, since Alex had the one horse they had between them. He was happy to let his brother ride, though, especially if it meant he wouldn't get hurt any further.

"You have a great sister then." Alex chuckled.

"Hurry up!" Lori snapped turning her horse towards the nearby village.

"Well you can come with me." Alex had said it without even thinking. "I mean." he started to stammer. "I wouldn't bring you to the castle so if you needed help or something." he closed his mouth mentally slamming his head against a wall.

Alex nodded and then blinked. "I smell chimney smoke." he grinned. "We must be close."

After a few more minutes they emerged from the woods and found a larger village. The woods stopped where they had emerged and the land had transformed in a flat bare ground. "This place has been settled for a while." Lori blinked heading for the village.

Rosemary smiled a little. Obviously they couldn't stay at the village long, especially now that Elliot was personally involved. There was no way he'd give up on finding them after Lori had attacked him. But it was nice to see settled land, and it was nice to know that they were getting closer to their destination.

Still following close behind, Cal waited a moment before trailing the princesses and his brother into the village. He considered, for just a moment, letting them go on ahead without him. But he couldn't stand the thought of leaving his brother.

Lori found a doctor and helped Alex in. "there." she turned to go. "Come one sis." she glanced at Alex. "Are deed is done and with Elliot not far behind we don't have time to stop for a break this soon."

Rosemary looked back at Alex a little sadly. She didn't want to leave him behind, but she couldn't deny that what Lori said was true. They had to get moving. She smiled at Alex. "It was nice meeting you." She told him, shaking his hand. Then she followed Lori out, leaving a tiny note in Alex's hand.

As soon as the princesses left, Cal entered to see how his brother was doing.

Alex kept the note hidden laughing when the doctor shooed his brother out with a broom. When they where both out he glanced at the note.

Lori bought a few things before asking which way the caravan going south was. A man pointed the way and even showed them on a map. He studied them the whole time and Lori was relieved to leave him and the village behind.

Rosemary sighed a little in relief as they left the village. "Did you see the way that man was looking at us? He's going to sell us out the moment the guards come through." She said with a shudder.

"What's that?" Cal looked over his brother's shoulder. The note was simple: How good is Cleo at finding people? It was accompanied by a lock of Rosemary's hair, as well as one from her wig.

"Nothing." Alex hid the note then sighed. "She really hates you." he smirked at his brother.

"We are only two days from the caravan and then five days from the border. We'll make it. With like no sleep and limited breaks we'll get to the caravan and once with them we should be able to hide." Lori bite her lip.

Cal shrugged. "Good." He said, though it hurt him to say it. "It's better if she hates me. If I smash every possible hope of her returning my feelings, then it'll be easier to stop liking her."

"I hope you're right." Rosemary said nervously. "I just hope the caravan doesn't look too closely at us."

"Even if they do we'll be so close to the border Elliot wouldn't be able to find us that easily." Lori hoped he wouldn't anyways.

"Or so you hope." Alex smirked. "Maybe she'll go back to the prince."

"Yeah..." Rosemary wasn't convinced- but she wouldn't be convinced until they were safe, anyway. And even then she would always be skeptical.

Cal flinched. "Don't say that!" He snapped, then blushed. "I mean, n-not that I care or anything! I don't care who she dates. It's just...we would lose money if she did. Yeah, that's it."

Alex smirk widened and he chuckled lightly. 'Uh huh." he noticed Cleo sitting in the window. "Poor girl must miss me."

Lori trudged along the rode half wishing she had gone with Elliot after all.

Cal glanced at the window and rolled his eyes. "At least she's loyal. Not like that stupid messenger hawk that I had when we were younger." He scowled. The hawk had attacked him and Alex constantly, and never listened to him. Eventually, the nasty thing had just flown off to hunt and never returned.

Rosemary noticed her sister's brooding mood. "Lori...?" She spoke up after a while. "Listen, I know it must have been hard to do that to Elliot. You know...I won't be upset if you go back. You said you'd try this, and you'd go back if you didn't like it. You've tried it, and I can tell you don't like it. You want your old life back, and I don't blame you. It would be selfish of me to ask you to stay. I want you to be happy, Lori. And besides, once you're queen you can change the rules so I can come back and live freely. We won't be apart forever."

"I'm fine little closer. I'm just tired." Lori smiled. Even if she went home she would see her sister to the border to make sure she was safe.

"That creature hated us. At least Cleo tolerated you." Alex chuckled.

Rosemary nodded, ignoring the pang in her heart. She couldn't keep Lori with her forever, not if Lori wasn't happy. She had to learn to live on her own, at least for a little while. It would hurt to be away from the only person who'd ever really cared about her, but it was the right thing to do.

"Cleo hates me." Cal said with a chuckle. "And sometimes I don't blame her. I'm not exactly a stellar role model, and clearly I'm not taking as good care of you as I should be."
