Gemini smiled devilishly. "Ooh, we're bringing Selina, too? This is gonna be fun." She had spent time as a villain, and gotten to know the other women rather well. She had been particularly close with Harley. "Lori. Nice to meet you, my name is Gemini. Come on, let's get dressed and then we can head out. You can borrow some of my clothes, if you want. I know a few good ways to get in and out of Arkham that Batman doesn't know about yet."
"It's weird how he thinks he knows everything but there's so much he doesn't. He didn't now Harley had a family...of course we both shun are parents." Lori shrugged and changed into a skirt and shirt. "It fits." she grinned.
Gemini looked up sharply. "A family? Harley had..." She trailed off, realization creeping in. "You're her sister. She talked about you, you know. But she said she didn't have any other family." She went back to getting dressed, changing into a short halter dress and strappy sandals. "Oh, good, we're the same size! That bodes well for our friendship."
"Well the parents weren't exactly pleasant. They called me a monster more then once and they pushed as hard. There the reason Harley feel for Joker it was the only kind of love she knew." Lori sighed. "I'm glad she talked about me." she smiled. "I tried to be there for her as much as I could even when they kicked me out." she lead the way. "Now she's gone...I should have protected her."
Gemini hesitated a moment, then rested a hand on Lori's shoulder. "I'm sorry, Lori. I know what it's like..." She shook her head. She knew saying that kind of thing wouldn't help at all. "We were good friends. She really looked up to you...a lot of times she even tried leaving him, because she knew how you felt about him. But somehow, every time, he managed to charm her again. She swore there was some good in him. I think he's just a really good liar." She sighed, disgusted. "She took care of me. Back when I was on the villain's side. Her and Selina were like the sisters I never had. If...if you ever want to talk about her, I'd love to learn more about who she was before."
"I'm glad she had you three on her side." Lori sniffled a little. "I'll tell you some time when it doesn't hurt so much." she sighed. "Let's go get Selina and Pam." she slipped out the door. "I don't know why she ever saw anything in him." she scowled and walked faster.
Gemini grunted slightly and shrugged. "If I ever find out, I'll let you know. Also, if that ever happens, punch me." She said. "Now, let's focus on happier things. Pam is closer, so we should pick her up first and then go for Selina."
"Oh if that happens I'll punch you so hard you'll forget your own name." Lori smirked and headed for Arkham. "Is this place as easy to break into?" she asked eyeing the building.
"Make sure that you do." Gemini said, looking up at the imposing structure. "It's easier to break into than it is to break out of. Follow me." She lead the way around the building to a darkened basement window. She knelt down and jimmied it open just wide enough for then to get in. "They never do any maintenance back here. This window's been broken for years, and this whole section is abandoned. There's a series of rooms that leads to an old stairway, which goes down to where they keep the high risk inmates. That's where Pam will be."
Lori lead the way down the hall knock out anyone they happened to pass by. She stopped in front of Pam's cell and fired the lock hugging the girl as she stepped out. Suddenly the alarm went off "Whoops." Lori grimaced. "Time to run."
Gemini rolled her eyes. "See, this is why you should have let me lead. I can open the cells without setting off an alarm." She said, but she was smiling. "Let's go, quick!" She started to run.
"Watch you know who show up." Lori raced to the window helping Pam threw first before shimming up after her. "I think the three of us could talk him." Pam shrugged and started to run for the hole in the gate. Lori turned back to help Gemini threw the window "She's probably right."
Gemini climbed through with Lori's help and ran for the gate, looking like she was having the time of her life. "I agree, we can probably get him to look the other way. Especially if I tell him that Superman gave us permission." It wasn't a complete lie- had had told her this would happen. And he hadn't warned against it.
"He doesn't hare what Superman thinks." Lori snorted a little as the headed for Selina's blinking when she saw Catwoman's shape slipping threw the night. "Now we have to catch up with her." she pouted.
"Maybe not, but he can't very well go against Supes without causing an argument." Gemini pointed out. Seeing Catwoman, she sighed. "Hang on, I think I can get her attention." She moved away from them and raised her hands up. A small ball of fire formed in her hands, and she shot it up into the sky where Selina would see. "It's a signal we thought up in case I ever need to reach her." Gemini explained.
"This is true." Lori chuckled then blinked as Selina landed before them. "You called?" she smiled at Gemini then blinked when she saw the other two and raised her eyebrow.
Gemini grinned and quickly hugged her friend. "I did call. We were just coming to get you for a girl's night out. Lori got some bad news earlier, so we thought we'd all go out dancing. Are you in?"
"Sure." Salina shrugged. "I'll meet you there. I have to change and drop off my haul. You going to the usual place?"
"Of course." Pam snorted. "No other place plays good music." |
Gemini chuckled. "Naturally. So, we'll head over and meet you there in a bit. Oh- did you get anything good?" She asked, a teasing glint in her eye. Sure, she was on the hero's side now, but she never busted Selina. That was Batman's job. Still, it was a running joke between then for Gemini to ask what she got, and Selina to refuse to tell her on the grounds that they were on opposite sides.
"That would be none of your business." Selina smirked and then vanished into the night. "Let's head out." Lori followed Pam who lead them to the club. "Let's do this." Lori paid and headed inside breathing in the stiff air.
Gemini chuckled and followed the others to the club. She paid the fee and walked inside, and smiled brightly. "It's been way too long since I've been here." She said.
Lori vanished into the thick of the crowd and started to dance. "She's really upset isn't she?" Pam frowned as she watched Lori dance. "if she starts drinking we may want to call her boyfriend."
Gemini nodded. "She learned that her sister died." She said, but didn't go into detail. It wasn't her place to say any more than that. "We'll keep an eye on her, though. And yeah, any drinking and we'll call him. But for now, we should have some fun, too." She said. She flashed Pam a smile and threaded her way through the crowd, then started dancing.
Lori joined Gemini and the others. They danced the night away with water breaks in between. It wasn't until Lori heard someone talking about Joker that things started going south. ''he's a freak and to think that girl liked him. If you ask me she got what she deserved." the man chucklsd. Pam who had been standing next to Lori saw the change in her eyes and edged away. "Oh boy. You may want to call Superman." she grimaced as Lori turned fire forming over her body.
Gemini heard what the man said, and was almost as mad as Lori. Before Lori could even fully fire up, Gemini was in the guy's face. "You have no right to say that! You don't know anything about her, nothing! She did not deserve what he did! She deserved a lot better than him, but jerks like you made her believe that she didn't! You take back what you said! Take it back right now or you'll be sorry!"
