"Just learn when to stop. I'd hate to attack." Yang shook her head.
"I'll tone it down," Ren said, meaning it.
"No... No I don't mind it." Yang sighed, "It allows us to have some resemblance of being family right?"
"True, but I should tone it down just a little all the same," he responded.
"Thank you, for at least being considerate about it." Yang smiled, She knew it wouldn't last that long. They'd be back to normal but she wouldn't actually want it any other way. At least a little break from it was going to be nice.
Rose grinned lightly as she watched the two siblings interact with each other.
"And what's that look for?" Yang raised a brow as she looked to Rose.
"I've never had younger siblings, so I'm finding it rather cute how you two interact is all," Rose replied.
"Trust me, They can be a pain." Yang laughed.
"I'm right here you know," Ren deadpanned.
"I had to get at least one hit in one you, considering you've been going for three days straight." Yang shrugged
"I guess you have a point," Ren commented.
"I'd hope so after all our years." Yang stretched
Ren laughed at that. "So...what now?" he asked.
"That's a good question. We are mostly just laying low while the heat dies down outside. I give it till tomorrow night to finish up." Yang admitted as she rested against the counter.
"I have a deck of cards. We could play some poker," Rose offered. "I also have a few books if you wanted to read instead.
"Sure... We can play some Poker... I'm not lucky enough with it, but I'm down to kill time."
"Works for me, but only for fun," he said.
Yang laughed, "For fun. Of course."
"I definitely agree, only for fun." Rose said in agreement to the siblings.
"Believe me, I'd rather not attempt to play a high stakes game. got lucky on that one but it was nerve racking." Yang rubbed her neck as the moved to the kitchen table to get everything together.
"Oh?" Rose asked, quite curious about the story behind it.
"You shuffle and deal, I'll explain." Yang laughed. "It was simple. Colonel Mustang... She decided to take it upon herself to challenge me to a game of poker with her soldiers. It was down to me and her and she made me a rather worrying bet. I lose, I have to reveal my true gender to everyone... in the most... embarrassing way possible." Yang noticed Ren about to speak about it before she pointed a finger at him. "And you swore to keep your mouth shut on it." She turned back to Rose. "Mustang wanted me to do a little photo shoot, in swimwear that she planned to sell to the troops for a 'moral' boost. She just wanted to make a quick buck since it was easier then convincing everyone to require mandatory miniskirts for the dress code." Yang shuttered at that thought. (Yes, I'm going that route... All hail Fuhrer Mustang... Lord(Lady in this case. ;p) of the Mini Skirt brigade!)
Rose nodded as she took the cards and shuffled them, dealing them after she did a few bridges and cuts of the deck. As she passed out five cards for Texas Poker, she listened to the story that Yang was telling.
"I wasn't going to say anything Yang," Ren replied. He was going to ask how they wanted to play when it came to the Aces: High, low or either. "And what would happen if you won the bet?" Rose asked, honestly wondering who won in the end. |
"She paid me. That is a promise I cannot break and tell what she gave me." Yang smirked. "But it was worth it. That was worth it just to get that 'paycheck'." She laughed.
