Not Connor, good. Mavin gave a small sigh at that.

"Well, hopefully it's taken care of," she said.

"It is," Lucy piped up. "Everything's fine now. It really was just a little thing."

Steve eyed her for a moment before he nodded and looked at the Professor again.

Xavier just patiently waited for Bucky to give the signal that he was ready to start.

Bucky snorted softly and finally turned to the Professor.

"Alright," he said. "May as well get on with it."

"Of course," Xavier said. He wheeled closer. "Just relax, as much as you're able."

Lucy shifted a little closer, watching and feeling again, just waiting for any sign of trouble.

Steve gave them a bit of room to work, moving back to stand next to Mavin with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Any better this week?" Mavin murmured to Steve.

Bucky just let Xavier work, trying not to tense up or fight the mental intrusion.

"Not much of a change yet," Steve muttered. "So far things still seem to be going about the same." He shrugged a bit. He expected as much.

Xavier worked quietly, taking his time to make sure he didn't mess up or cause pain.

"Better than things getting worse," Mavin murmured back. "Things will improve, just give it time."

Bucky sat there quietly, eyes closed, though his hands were balled into fists on his lap.

"Just a question of how much time," Steve murmured.

Lucy made an aborted motion forward, and then cautiously helped soothe over some of the rough edges, so it was easier for Bucky. That much, at least, she felt okay doing.

"It'll be alright," Mavin soothed.

Bucky let out a slow breath when he felt the rough edges smoothing over. Somehow that was more comfortable, even though he wasn't necessarily sure what to do with that comfort yet.

Steve nodded, shifting a bit closer to her.

Lucy relaxed a little as he did, though she kept a metaphorical eye on him.

The visits went like that for a little while, and Bucky started to make a little progress. And then, abruptly, he regressed again, going stoic and silent and cold, even to Steve.

Steve brought him to the mansion again, tense and quiet the whole trip.

"Hi Mavin," he greeted quietly when he saw her.

"Steve, hey," Mavin said. "The Professor told me you were coming. He's set aside some rooms, since nobody is sure how long you both will be here."

"Probably a good idea. It's been a rough week." Serve ushered Bucky inside.

"Yeah, I can tell," Mavin said, stepping aside so Steve could get Bucky inside. "Professor wants to see him once you're settled in."

Bucky just followed silently, glancing around warily.

"Where are the rooms?" Steve asked, glancing around as well. Fortunately, the students all seemed to be busy in class.

"Follow me," Mavin said, nodding. She gestured for them to follow her, and started heading towards a section of empty rooms on the ground floor.

Steve made sure Bucky was with them and followed Mavin. He opened the door for Bucky, taking a quick look inside. Not that he thought there'd be anything in there, just to see. And then he stepped out of the way.

"Thanks," he murmured to Mavin.

"No problem," Mavin murmured back. She waited for Steve to get Bucky settled.

Bucky subtly checked the room as he was ushered in. He saw Steve check the room, but a smart asset did his own checking too.

Steve just gave Bucky some time to settle in, posting himself outside the door for now. He didn't want to push too much, after all.

"I take it it's not great?" Mavin asked once Steve started standing guard.

"It's been rough," Steve murmured. "Hard week." He shrugged a bit.

"I know how that feels," Mavin said, nodding. "Well, there's a room here for you, too, if you want it. I'll be in and out of the mansion, since I don't live here anymore, but everyone here knows how to get a hold of me."

Steve nodded. "Great. Thanks. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around."

Mavin nodded.

"Yeah," she said. She paused for a moment. "And since I'm sure nobody's had a chance to warn you yet, the kids tend to be curious so if they start bothering you, just let the Professor know and he'll make sure everyone gives you space."
