"Doing well," Charles told her. "Apparently unaffected by the gas which affected Maeve. He's been quite well entertained."

"Well, that's something," Raven muttered. "Could have been a lot worse, then." She looked at Charles. "I'm not staying long, so don't even think about trying to talk me into staying."

"I'm well aware of your feelings on the matter," Charles agreed, leading the way to the elevator. "However, if you decide you're hungry, Maeve's sister has been baking almost non-stop since all this. There are more sweets in the kitchen than the children know what to do with."

Raven rolled her eyes, but she was smiling just slightly. With a wave, she headed out of his office and towards the infirmary. She had a good idea of where Mavin would be.

Charles watched her go and sent a mental ping to Hank to alert him that Raven was on her way down. Just in case.

Hank caught the ping just in time as Raven came into the infirmary.

"Ah, Raven, good to see you again, as always," he said.

"Hank." Raven smiled, because she wasn't nearly as pissed with him. "Still having fun here?"

"As much fun as ever," Hank replied, nodding. "Shall I go ahead and assume that it's our own resident shapeshifter that brings you back? As I recall, you threatened never to come back again."

Raven nodded. "I wouldn't be here if I wasn't needed," she agreed, taking a quick look around. "Where is she?"

"This way," Hank said. He gestured for Raven to follow him, and headed into a side room.

Inside, Mavin was dozing, a shaft of sunlight from the window cutting across her fur.

Raven paused for a moment to look her over and sighed. "Well, that's definitely new," she murmured. "This is going to be fun."

Mavin's ears flicked at the sound of Raven's voice and she lifted her head. She brightened visibly when she saw Raven there.

"Hey there, kid," Raven murmured. "Looks like you've got yourself into a spot of trouble this time."

Mavin looked at her paws and then back at Raven with a 'no kidding, hadn't noticed' look. She gave a grumbly sort of growl and tilted her head a bit. She wanted to know how to fix this and get back to normal.

Raven snickered a bit at that. "Yeah, I know," she said, grinning a bit. "It's not as bad as it seems, probably. You remember what I told you before about changing? Same concept, larger scale."

Mavin grumbled a bit and gave Raven a Look that clearly said 'if I get stuck, I'm blaming you.' Standing up, she shook herself a bit and concentrated on trying to change back. It was difficult, and the change came fitfully and unevenly.

Raven stayed quiet, just watching for now. "There we go," she murmured once Mavin had changed back. "I know, it's much harder on a larger scale."

Mavin fell to her hands and knees, for the moment not caring that she was naked. Changing back had taken a lot out of her.

"I don't know how you do that," she murmured, closing her eyes and trying to get her head to stop spinning.

"Years of practice," Raven told her, not unkindly, even as she grabbed a blanket to throw over Mavin. "And it's easier for me, I don't have to focus so hard."

Mavin pulled the blanket around herself, getting to her feet carefully.

"I know I'm going to have to keep working on it," she said. "But I think I just want to rest a bit first. Rescue my sister from Connor."

"Rest first is a good idea," Raven agreed, eyeing her. "Food would be good, too. Takes a lot of energy to change like that."

"Oh my god, food," Mavin agreed. "I haven't eaten since before everything happened." Now that Raven had called attention to it, Mavin realized she was starving.

Raven grinned. "I know," she agreed. "Food will help you feel better too."

Mavin nodded a bit.

“And clothes,” she said, “definitely clothes.”

"Clothes are easy," Raven agreed. "Come on. Up you get." She pulled some clothes out of a bag behind her, having known she'd need them eventually.
