I would pronounce your username A P B Cole, but would someone be wrong if they said A P B C ole? or app-B-cole?

APBCole 06-21-2016 11:35 PM

It's possible but it'd be a first.

I'm not denying someone could say my username wrong but there's a reason why this username is only used on WTFRPG and Mene. It's not that great.

Mr. Wrong 06-22-2016 04:35 AM

Hello everyone. I checked out Vocaroo and it seems a microphone and computer is required to upload voice recordings. I poked and poked that little cube icon thingy, but nothing came of it. The bad news is that you guys won't get to know my voice (at least for right now). The good news is you won't have to endure my singing of King of Bakersfield by Cracker. I couldn't carry a tune in a suitcase.

Hearing Ava sing and play the ukulele was both funny intriguing. I had no idea Ava was brimming with such talent. Really. I swore I was hearing one of those dopey car insurance commercials while she played and sang. Seriously, you should submit a voice recording to multiple talent agencies.

There was a guy from Tucson who did these goofy radio ads because he really did sound like a cartoon character. He soon became a dj and was fairly popular in local radio circles. It would be hilarious to hear him say in his Goofy voice, "I liked it better in rehab, man. And they gave us Crayons."

I also had a high school chum who did voice ads for Chevrolet. He only did a couple of ads, but he was paid $300 per ad. Something to consider.

Salvete, you also a have a cute voice. And of course I agree with APBCole about all the Mene girls having cute voices.

salvete 06-22-2016 02:10 PM

Thank you, Mr. Wrong. I think it's actually pretty funny that you and APBCole both said all the female voices you've heard on Menewsha have been cute. Because then I wonder, are you accustomed to hearing female voices that are not cute when you're not on Menewsha?

Also, I think my voice sounds lower and more mature in this recording so I don't know if I'll still sound cute to you all, haha!

APBCole 06-22-2016 02:23 PM

Vocaroo | Voice message

My response to you Salvete.

And your voice is perfectly fine. Sounding mature isn't a bad thing.

salvete 06-22-2016 03:01 PM

What you said makes sense. I don't think I was part of the old Vocaroo hangout, so I don't know what most people on here sound like. Also, Vocaroos expire after a while so even if I knew where the old thread was, the links probably wouldn't work anymore.

And of course my voice is perfectly fine :D

---------- Post added 06-22-2016 at 11:04 AM ----------

I only know what APBCole sounds like, but if you are representative of the male voices here on Menewsha, it sounds like the males on here are also pretty normal people. ;D

Amane 06-23-2016 05:58 PM

My name? Okay, I don't even wanna know what people did, but here we go.

I made it up when I was very young. It wasn't until many years later that I was made aware it's a Japanese name popularized by Death Note. I've never even seen/read Death Note, guys.

So it's like this. Two syllables. Emphasis falls on the second one.
a-MANE
That first A is as in "am," and the rest is said just like mane or main. Ammane?

My attempts to explain my name usually end in failure, and I'm not feelin' it, so I'm not even gonna try right now. It seems really easy. But no one ever gets it! The "mane" part is easy. It's getting them to understand the A as in "am." And then they say it with a break between syllables and I'm like, nooo, you say it nice and smooth~
I understand it's hard with just words to go by.

Why didn't I Vocaroo it? Because my computer that HAS a microphone has a terrible one, and I don't do the voice things or the webcammy things anyway.

Also, I give "ABCPole" an A+ for laughter inducement.

Ava The Vampire 06-23-2016 07:05 PM

Wait....
You mean his name isn't ABCPole?!

O_O

Woah. I've been reading it wrong this whole time.

You must always bear in mind that I am a trucker. When I'm not at home I mostly see two types of women on the road. The foremost being cashiers or waitresses who usually look and sound cute. The other female type I encounter and are likely to converse with are lady truckers.

About 11 out of 9 lady truckers are nearing sixty, own small dogs, have smoked for 30 plus years, have been divorced twice, were biker babes 25 years ago, are able to roll their own cigarettes with one hand while on the back of a Harley Davidson while going 60 mph, have buried at least one ex husband or boyfriend in her backyard, and have at least four children who are in and out of jail every other month.

I believe this certifies me as being able to say that you sound cute.

APBCole 06-24-2016 12:20 PM

Mr. Wrong is a trucker?

You drive a Pete, Kenny, Freightliner, or what?

Day cab or sleeper?

I'm a trucking enthusiast.

That's my Pete 579 in American Truck Simulator. So you know i'm serious about trucking stuff.

Plus I have an uncle who drives trucks.

I just ranted about having an "animated" voice.

It's a long, long rant. You've been warned.

Animoo is where your voice fits really well. Because alot of adult voice actors can do childish voices well while it's natural for you.

Not to mean it negatively when I say childish. There's nothing wrong with it.

Symphony of the Night 06-24-2016 05:57 PM

Yeah there's nothing wrong with anyone's voice.

Ava the Vampire, is your real name Ava?

APBCole, the more I listen to your voice, the more I hear a pattern to your speech. It's very rhythmic, like you're keeping a beat or something while you talk. Do you think so? Even when you say "ha ha ha," it's like you're saying it along with a metronome.

Is that how you normally talk? Because I know that when I record these vocaroos, I don't talk like I normally do in everyday conversation.

Question for everyone - are you alone when you record these vocaroos? Most of the time I have people around me, so no vocaroo recording for me.

APBCole 06-24-2016 06:06 PM

It's not exactly how I normally talk. Mostly with friends I talk like I do.

I can sound pretty normal as well but I prefer to show my funny side on here since not many get to see it.

Ava The Vampire 06-24-2016 06:49 PM

I talk mostly the same on Vocaroo as I do in real life.
The only difference is what I say, I guess. In real life, I am shy so my voice is a lot lighter and not as heavy. (My therapist calls it my 'anxiety voice'.)

My real name is not Ava. But I don't want to share my real name. Sorry. :C
I like Ava better than my real name!

Yes, I am an OTR trucker. I now have about four years driving experience. Currently, I am driving an International with a midroof sleeper. But most of my experience has been in a Freightliner Cascadia. Never have driven a K-Whopper, though I regard Kenworth as the finest truck on the road. I drove a Peterbilt once for about four hundred miles.

Are you considering trucking as a career?

Thought about it a few times but right now i'm not serious about attempting it. I'd still need to go through the training process and get a CDL. Plus the only trucking company that is remotely wanting new recruits in my area is Swift. I don't want to join Swift.

I like Petes. The 579 and 389 are really beautiful trucks. The VNL is my third favorite. The other brands not so much.

I've always been interested in trucking though but I don't know if I want it as a career just yet.

Symphony of the Night 06-24-2016 11:51 PM

Okay since y'all think my normal voice is so cute...here is the lower end of my vocal range aka singing in a deeper voice. Enjoy lol

Peterbilt does makes some nice looking trucks. But you must keep in mind that any of those pretty Peterbilt's are not likely to be a truck you will be driving. Freightliner, Volvo, International, are usually what newer drivers begin with.

Can't say I blame you for not wanting to become a Swifty. I applied with them back in the 90s and never heard back from them. They didn't need me then, they don't need me now. Besides, I've never heard anything really good about Swift anyways. They're too big to care about their drivers however you slice it.
