"The berry people just outside of town could use hands," Ithica pointed out. "That could be interesting."

"Yeah it could. Should we both go check that one out, or split up?" Mel looked at Ithica. She was fine either way, really.

"Let's split up," Ithica said. "That way we can cover more things, and we're not competing for the same jobs."

"Sounds fair to me," Mel agreed. "I'll take the cleaning and organizing. We'll meet up back here at the end of the day?"

"Sounds good to me," Ithica said, nodding. "I'll head out to the berry farm, then."

"Alrighty, I'll see you later." Mel waved a bit and headed off to go find her work for the day.

Fortunately it was pretty easy work, nothing she hadn't done before. And they paid pretty well, too.

Ithica wasn't exactly sure what to expect from the berry farm, but it wasn't as difficult as she thought it would be. She and Dratini were set to harvesting berries from trees, and it was surprisingly educational work. She was even sent back with a sack full of berries for her efforts, as well as the promised wages.

"Looks like you had fun," Mel said, grinning when she spotted the bag of berries. "That's good. Guess it must have gone well."

"Look at all the berries!" Ithica chirped brightly. "It was awesome! And there were Butterfree! And Ledyba! And Beedrill!"

Mel snickered. "How many did you coo at?" she asked teasingly.

"All of them," Ithica said happily. "Even the Beedrill. And there was a Swellow with a nest in one of the trees and the bitty Taillow were so cute!"

"Aww," Mel agreed. "You're practically buzzing with happiness yourself. This is gonna be awesome if this keeps up."

"We totally need to just go around and see everything there is to see," Ithica said, still beaming.

"Oh we will," Mel assured her. "In due time, I promise we will." She shook her head a bit, amused.

"I love this place," Ithica said. She slung the bag of berries over her shoulder. "And I have money now. This is great."

"Yes it is. Now let's go find some food and a place to stay for the night, and we can do it all over again tomorrow." Mel grinned at her.

"Dibs on the berry farm," Ithica said, grinning. "And I bet Nurse Joy will let us stay for the night again, if we ask."

"That's fine, I have to look for another place tomorrow anyway," Mel said with a shrug. "And she probably will. Want to go ask?"

"Sure, let's go," Ithica said, nodding. "We can divvy up these berries once we're settled in. We should each have a few of everything, just in case, you know?"

"Yeah, probably a good idea," Mel agreed. "Well, at least we know that as we travel if we come across more berry farms we'll be set for work."

"This is true," Ithica said. "Especially if it turns out we're not cut out for battling."

"No kidding," Mel said. "There is rather a distinct possibility for me for that, I was never as fond of battling and building the perfect team as you were."

"That's going to be amazing," Ithica said, grinning. "I really do want to try my hand at battling, I need to know I didn't waste my entire childhood on this. And, hey, I've got a dragon-type, this'll be awesome."

"It really will," Mel agreed with a grin. "And we both need at least one Eevee, I know you want your Espeon."

Ithica grinned.

"I kinda do," she admitted. She gave Dratini a few head scritches. "Though I can think of quite a few I also want, since we're not restricted by things like one-way ledges and HMs."
