"We can wait." Belle shrugged and stood. "it's time to get to classes anyways. She sighed a little and then smiled. "It is nice to have people to talk to. Though your are still my best friend Angel." Angel rolled her eyes and walked off. "I guess she's mad." she sighed again.
Rosemary looked down. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset her." She certainly hoped she hadn't caused a problem in their friendship.
"I think she's more upset with me." Belle shrugged. "She's use to having me to herself." she knew there was more to it then that but it wasn't something she was going to fall about just yet. "Lets head to class." she lead the way.
"Oh, okay." Rosemary nodded. "Well, I hope that gets worked out." She said, taking Alex's hand and following Belle to class.
Cal watched the group talk, eat, and head off to class. He waited a moment before getting up to head to class himself, not wanting to catch up with them just yet. |
Belle sat silent during there class but made sure to pay attention.
Alex sat next to Rose smiling to himself as he took notes. |
Rosemary, as usual, paid careful attention to everything the teacher was saying. Anyone watching her would think the lesson on the French Revolution was the most thrilling thing she'd ever heard.
Cal sat in the back, trying to concentrate but mostly failing. He managed to take notes so that he could go over the lesson later, but other than that he was too distracted by his own thoughts. |
After there classes where over Belle grabbed Rose's hand and dragged her away.
Alex stood there blinking. "Um...bye?" he chuckled a little. |
Rosemary blinked as she was dragged along, not having expected to be kidnapped like that.
Cal decided to go for another walk, as that always seemed to help him sort out his thoughts. |
Belle locked them into her room back at the cabin. "Ready?" she turned to Rose and plopped down onto her bed holding her hands out.
Rosemary shook herself slightly. "Yeah. Okay. Right." She sat down and took a deep breath, then took Belle's hands. "Alright, now just close your eyes and relax. Let yourself feel whatever you're feeling."
Belle felt confused and annoyed mostly. She sighed and let her mind think about Cal a soft blush forming on her cheeks wondering what this new feeling was.
Rosemary closed her eyes and focused on the emotions that Belle was channeling. She felt herself enter a state of meditation, just as she'd expected, and started sorting through what she was receiving. Most of it was pretty straightforward- frustration, confusion, annoyance- though there were a few things that were more difficult to sort through, all tangled up. She carefully worked through untangling them, identifying more emotions. Eventually, she opened her eyes and broke contact. "Well, that was interesting. You've got so many emotions all mixed together, but I managed to identify the one that's troubling you. It's affection, and it's slowly transforming into something stronger."
"Affection? For Cal?" Belle blinked then hit her head as hard as she could on the wall. "Stupid." she groaned. "What is wrong with me?"
Rosemary blinked rapidly. "For Cal?" She hadn't been able to tell where the affection was directed, but now that she heard, it made sense. "You like Cal. Oh my gosh! No, wait, wait...why are you upset? He's a good looking guy, and he's nice enough. There's nothing stupid about liking him. Honestly this proves that there's nothing wrong with you at all, you're a normal teenage girl."
"I can't be...I should like a vampire or at least someone's who's half." Belle groaned and flopped onto her bed. 'Why me? First finding out I'm not full vampire and know this."
"The heart wants what it wants. Why do you have to like a vampire?" Rosemary asked. "Is that something you want for yourself, or is it something you've been told should happen?"
"Look what happened to my mom. She fell in love with someone else then had a kid who she then had to lie to that child for her whole life!" Belle punched her pillow. "falling in love is nothing but trouble."
"Just because your mom did that, doesn't mean it has to happen to you." Rosemary said quietly. "We don't have to follow the paths our parents took. Your mother obviously made a mistake in lying to you. It doesn't have to be the same for you. Falling in love could be a wonderful thing, if you gave it a shot. And besides, most people don't have a choice. Falling in love just happens."
"Well I'm choosing to fall out of love." Belle growled. "I will stay away from Cal, hang out with the vampires and these feelings will go away." she nodded.
"I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure love doesn't work that way." Rosemary said. "Trying to ignore your feelings won't make them go away. But I suppose you can try." After all, Belle seemed like the type of person who had to learn things the hard way. Rosemary figured that's exactly what would happen in this case.
Belle scowled. ''Then I'll pretend to like someone else." she reasoned with a grin.
Oh, that wasn't good. "I am so completely positive that that'll only make things worse." She said. "Especially if Cal feels the same way about you."
"Don't be ridiculous." Belle snorted. "Why would he feel the same?" she frowned at her. "We don't like in a world of dreams."
"Why wouldn't he feel the same?" Rosemary countered. "He's seemed pretty interested in you from the beginning. Plus, you've got a lot to offer. You're smart, independent, beautiful..." She listed off, counting on her fingers. "I'm just saying, maybe you should find out how he feels before you decide for the both of you."
Belle shrugged. "I think about it." she sighed softly. "Lets try to get to sleep."
