"Great. We're ready to go whenever you are." Yusuke grinned. Oh yes, Keiko would be pleased.

"Just a moment, then," Yukina said. "Just let me change." Because while she did love her kimono, human clothes were better for a trip into town.

"Sure, no rush," Yusuke told her.

"How is this our lives?" Peggy muttered to Winter.

"I have no idea," Winter murmured in return. "And we can't even blame this on poor life choices. And you know now Hiei is going to be tailing us all day."

"Alright, I'm ready," Yukina said, coming back out in a simple dress and flats. Her hiruseki was in full view around her neck.

"Awesome." Yusuke led the way out, grinning.

Peggy nearly flailed a little because oh god what even. The hiruseki was visible and beautiful, but oh god.

Winter also did a double take, but managed not to say anything.

"It's nice to get out of the temple for a little while," Yukina commented as they went.

"I bet. I'd go nuts staying here with the old hag all the time." Yusuke shot her a quick grin.

"Oh no, Genkai is quite nice," Yukina said. "I do enjoy being here. But getting out is nice sometimes too. And humans are fascinating."

"Good thing you think so," Yusuke said. "You're probably the nicest demon I've met to date." He grinned at her.

Yukina smiled.

"That's very kind of you to say," she said.

Yusuke grinned a bit.

It didn't take them long to get to Keiko, and Peggy just kind of stopped for a moment because jfc what even.

Winter stopped and stared a little too because oh god it was Keiko.

"Told you I wouldn't be long," Yusuke said as they got close.

"Hello, Keiko," Yukina said, smiling. "How have you been?"

"I'm well, how about you?" Keiko said, smiling at Yukina. "Oh, you two must be the new people that Yusuke mentioned. I'm Keiko, it's nice to meet you both."

"I'm Peggy," she managed after a second of mental reboot.

"Winter," Winter managed to add.

"I'm doing well too," Yukina replied. "It was very kind of you to invite me along."

"Of course," Keiko said with a smile. "Is there anywhere anyone needs to go or should we just start looking around?" She looked at everyone.

"No, thank you, I'm all set," Yukina said. She looked at the other two, and Winter shook her head.

"Nope, I'm fine," she said. This was just too unreal.

Peggy shook her head wordlessly, and Keiko nodded.

"Alright," she agreed. "Then we'll start going this way." She turned and started walking.

Winter couldn't help but glance at Peggy as they walked. How crazy was this?

"It's been very quiet around here recently, hasn't it?" Yukina commented. "Far fewer demons have come into the human world than I thought, unless they've just been staying hidden."

Keiko nodded. "I think they might be scared to, at least here," she said. "I don't know about elsewhere, but here there's Yusuke, Kurama, and Hiei."

"That's probably true," Yukina agreed, nodding. She couldn't help but laugh a little. "I'm certainly glad they're my friends."

Winter just listened to the conversation, still trying to reconcile what exactly was going on. So much for a nice, normal shopping trip.

"So, Yusuke said you two are from out of town," Keiko said, turning the conversation to the two newcomers. "What brings you here?"

Peggy thought hard for a moment. "Kind of an accident, really," she said after a moment. "We didn't mean to end up here. We just kind of did." She paused. "How much did Yusuke actually tell you? Just so I know what I need to fill in."

"Not much, actually," Keiko admitted. "Just that you know about things like demons and Spirit World. I didn't ask for specifics."

"Okay. Well, in short, Winter teleports, and we got here by accident. No, we don't know how we ended up here. No, we don't yet know why Winter teleports." Peggy shrugged. "It just kinda started happening and we rolled with it."

Keiko blinked.

"Teleports?" she asked, glancing at Winter. Winter nodded.

"Yeah," she said. "Still no clue why or how, and I haven't been able to do it right since we got here, but yeah."

"I know, it sounds weird," Peggy said. "It is kind of weird actually but that's what happened." She shrugged.
