"Believe it or not, it's not the weirdest thing I've ever heard," Keiko said, grinning a bit.
"It's fascinating, though," Yukina added. "I've never heard of someone being able to teleport." "Yeah, Genkai said something along those lines too. She said it was rare," Winter said, nodding. |
"If Genkai says it's rare, it must be rather extraordinary," Yukina pointed out with a little smile.
"I suppose," Winter said. "I'm kind of hoping I get a decent handle on it soon." She grinned just slightly. "It'll be kind of neat once I have it down."
"I imagine so," Yukina agreed with a smile. "Maybe you just need more time to practice and adjust?" She shrugged a little.
"That's what we think," Winter agreed, nodding. "I was practicing a little at the temple." She grimaced. "It wasn't pretty."
Yukina nodded. "Maybe give it some time?" she suggested. "I'm sorry, I don't know much about how humans learn these kinds of things. You could ask Genkai, I'm sure she'd help you."
"Don't worry about it, really," Winter said, smiling a bit. "I'll figure something out. I think Genkai might be considering throwing us into training anyways."
Yukina nodded with a little smile. "That will be interesting, if nothing else," she agreed.
"Interesting is one word for it," Winter said. She grinned. "I'm sure Yusuke would call it something else."
Yukina giggled at that. "I think everyone has heard him ranting before," she agreed.
"No kidding," Keiko added, making a face.
"Oh I bet," Winter said, grinning. |
Peggy cackled a little at that. "That doesn't surprise me with him," she agreed with a grin.
Winter stretched a bit and glanced around. Odds were good that Hiei was following them, somewhere, even if she couldn't immediately see him.
The girls all ended up shopping and chatting for a few hours, until Keiko suggested they stop at the noodle shop to get some food before heading back. Yukina smiled, pleased with that decision, and made her way unerringly to the noodle shop.
Winter blinked when the noddle shop was suggested.
"I didn't know that was still around," she murmured to Peggy. |
"Neither did I," Peggy muttered.
Keiko smiled a bit as she motioned them inside. It would do a bit of good too to drop in unannounced and make sure everything was running smoothly. |
It was slow in the shop, and the two high schoolers working there were leaning against the counter. As soon as the girls walked in, the kids jumped to their feet.
"Boss!" one of them said. "We-- weren't expecting you today!" |
"I know," Keiko said with a smile. "This was unplanned, I'm bringing some friends by."
"Of course," the other one said, recovering more quickly. "Four of you? I'll bring you menus." |
"Hey, Yuki!" the first one greeted as he fired up the stoves again. "Didn't expect to see you until next week!"
"I have to admit, this is sort of awesome," Winter murmured to Peggy. |
Yukina smiled. "Neither did I," she agreed. "This really was unplanned. How is school going?" She settled in to chat with them both for a bit.
"It is," Peggy agreed quietly. "And look at how adorable that is, seriously." |
"It must drive Hiei insane," Winter replied as quietly as she could and still be sure Peggy heard her. "Can you imagine?"
"Sort of? I bet it does, though." Peggy snorted quietly. "Just don't let him catch you saying that, he'd take offense, I bet."
"Yeah, no kidding," Winter said. She couldn't help the slight grin, though. "But seriously, her having such regular contact with humans outside the temple? It must drive him nuts."
Peggy snickered a bit, but quickly sobered when Hiei entered the noodle shop as well. Yukina spotted him and smiled, adding in his order as well. She knew it by heart by now.
Winter did a double-take when she saw Hiei come in. She knew he was following them, but she didn't expect him to actually come in.
