I am nervous about it.

Thats correct Longcat. Anything before November 1st doesn't count and the idea is that you add 50k words to your existing novel (or start a new one) during November.

This is my understanding of it as well.

bearzy!!! your avatar is awesome!!!

Bearzy 10-29-2016 11:37 PM

Thanks Shad! I just HAD to use the new CI

Shadami 10-29-2016 11:42 PM

I might have saved it for future User choice :#

Bearzy 10-29-2016 11:52 PM

Awww thank you!

Shadami 10-30-2016 12:14 AM

You're welcome. ^^ i love it. i'm going to be getting alot of those this event I think. xD

Yamka Jaden 10-30-2016 12:20 AM

I'm still thinking about doing it this year, have a couple of ideas, but I don't know how well it would work out.

Bearzy 10-30-2016 12:27 AM

If you spend a few hours planning in the next two days you'll probably not have any trouble. I believe in you

Yamka Jaden 10-30-2016 12:30 AM

I've got an idea that I've been sitting on for the last, like, three months. Most of it's planned out but I don't if semi-planned out stuff is allowed. I am off Halloween and the day after, so it wouldn't be hard to get more things done.

Bearzy 10-30-2016 12:30 AM

You are absolutely allowed to plan before NaNo! You just can't write opening lines or anything like that.

Yamka Jaden 10-30-2016 12:34 AM

Ah, that's good to hear. I don't have anything written yet outside of the planning stuff [characters, places, etc] so then there's little to worry about then.

Bearzy 10-30-2016 12:35 AM

Yep all you have to worry about is getting ready to start your wordcount on the first!

Shadami 10-30-2016 12:41 AM

Just try it. if you don't make it you don't but you got someting done even if its only a few words. ^^

Yamka Jaden 10-30-2016 12:50 AM

And it'll be a start in getting the idea officially on paper -- er, on computer? *shrug*

Bearzy 10-30-2016 12:51 AM

I use the phrase "get it on paper" a lot too, and it drives me nuts that I literally do not write on paper.

Yamka Jaden 10-30-2016 12:55 AM

I sometimes tend to write things on paper first, sometimes I find it helps things move faster that way. Used to always write on paper first then type it onto the computer later, I think I have a couple of notebooks laying around here somewhere.

Bearzy 10-30-2016 12:56 AM

Ah yeah i do all my planning in notebooks because I swear I think faster that way, but all my actual writing goes on computers.

Yamka Jaden 10-30-2016 12:58 AM

Yea, same but with the exception if I'm on vacation or something like that. Sometimes the best ideas often come when not sitting at home or something just has to be written out.

Bearzy 10-30-2016 01:02 AM

Ah yeah I usually get the most done when I leave home and write in cafes or something.

I'm sure you can do it Kirin!

Shadami 10-30-2016 01:12 AM

I love writing my ideas in notebooks. i have piles of them around my house.

Bearzy 10-30-2016 01:14 AM

So do I, shelves full of them in my room.

Shadami 10-30-2016 01:38 AM

Mine are in boxes right now since we moved.
