Downwind of the sewage treatment plant.
I don't know if anyone around here would know of Dowisetrepla. |
Wasnt he a middle ages fisherman
|
I googled the word...
Though I have never heard the term, I am completely familiar with being downwind of a sewage treatment plant...It is not pleasant! |
Like being next to a pig hauler truck
|
In the town I grew up in, the cattle trucks would come through and park in a gravel parking lot not far from the school while the driver's would visit one of 4 places to get a meal. I would often have to walk by those trucks, and whoa-boy did they stink!!

and awful in the heat |
Dowisetrepla was the name of a residence sold on the comedy show How I Met your Mother. The seller named it "Dowisetrepla" because they were hiding the fact that the place was "DOwnWInd of the SEwage TREatment PLAnt." Numerous potential buyers find it and they're like, "Huh, what a name, Dowisetrepla… Looketh nice… Wonder why it hath not sold?"
While I was in elementary school, they closed my school, expanded another one, and opened a new one out in a patch of farmland. I was among the students who were transferred to that new school. The playground must have been downwind of the cattle farms nearby 'cause, heavens, did it smell of manure out there some days. /my best friend of those days was heartbroken when she heard the news she'd been transferred /and then she found out I was transferred, too [heart] /else we would not have met again until middle school /and we know how middle school goeth |
LOL that is pretty funny and a clever way to conceal the stench of a sewer plant. One of the basis I worked on had a pig farm right beside it. In the summertime those pigs could kill you if the wind was blowing in your face! I stopped eating bacon there for a while. Every time I thought about eating it all I could think about was that smell in the hundred degrees 90% humidity Heat. Being on the blacktop of a flight line and smelling that smell was not a pretty sight or sent I guess you could say |
Even candied bacon could not survive an aversion that developed that way!
|
I agree with you about that. It was really hard for me to eat even pulled pork on the famous baked potato from that area. |
I like bacon best when my mother hath cooked raw bacon. Pre-cooked bacon tendeth to be smoke-flavored, which I cannot stand.
Sister cooketh absolutely delicious raw bacon in a skillet, too. |
Thick peppered bacon |
The momster was a really good cook. Loved her crunchy crunchy bacon.
|
Bacon is the kryptonite of vegetarians
|
Bacon is why I could never be a vegetarian well that and chicken |
Bacon is not my kryptonite.
I was never a big fan of bacon, even when I ate meat. I was more of a sausage girl, myself. |
