“That’s just weird,” Bucky said, making a face.

Summer couldn’t help but bite the inside of her lip at the sharp grin. Oh she liked that more than she thought she would.

"It takes a lot of getting used to," Rose admitted with a bit of a shrug.

Steve smirked a bit at that but didn't say anything more for a few minutes, just giving her some time to relax again.

It wasn’t too long after that that Summer sensed the unmistakable presence of heartless in the area. When she sensed them, she looked at Rose.

“You feel that?” she asked.

"Yup." Rose grinned. "Time to get to work."

Steve looked over at them from where he was in the kitchen. But he didn't go over just yet.

Summer grinned. Time to go hunt some heartless. She went to the door of the kitchen and leaned in.

“You said you wanted to come heartless hunting,” she said to Steve. “There’s heartless around.”

Steve nodded. "Give us five minutes," he told her, nudging Bucky as well.

“Hurry,” Summer said, “we can’t leave them wandering around too long, they’ll start taking hearts.”

Bucky nodded and went to get his rifle. He wasn’t going to miss this.

Steve nodded, deciding to just grab his shield, rather than suiting up. It only took him a couple minutes.

"Ready," he called to the two girls.

“Excellent,” Summer said. She grinned. “Let’s go then.”

Bucky was right behind Steve, his rifle slung over his metal shoulder. He glanced at Rose, raising an eyebrow.

Rose nodded, motioning him out and bringing up the rear of the group.

It didn't take long to get to the heartless, and Rose grinned, calling her keyblade.

Summer grinned and summoned her own keyblade. Time to kill some heartless. She jumped into the fray, laying about with her shield.

Bucky took up a sniper position, taking aim to cover Steve.

Steve jumped into the fray with just about as much enthusiasm as Summer, knowing Bucky had his back.

Since Rose could now aim fairly well, she took up a position and started picking off the heartless.

Summer bashed some heartless on the head, making them burst into smoke. A few hearts fluttered away as they were set free.

Bucky grinned as Rose got herself settled, and started picking off heartless as well. He blinked when he saw that Steve was taking out the blob monsters as easily as Summer was.

Steve oticed too, and he was definitely surprised. They had not been this easy before. But he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Rose was picking off the heartless with ease, doing much better now that she actually had an idea what she was doing. She was even grinning.

Bucky just continued to pick off the heartless. He blinked when he noticed that his bullets were actually doing some damage, but didn't stop what he was doing.

Summer paused when she sensed a huge heartless nearby, and it nearly made her shudder.

"Rose there's a big heartless coming!"

"Yup I'm trying to get a view of it," Rose called back, scrambling up into a higher perch.

Steve made sure Summer had an opening to take a look around, knowing Bucky would help him keep up.

There was a moment of complete stillness, and then there was a low roar that seemed to rattle through Summer's bones. Before she could react, a dark, shadowy form sailed over the buildings as if it were swimming through the sky.

"Is that a Chitauri space whale?" Summer asked, staring at it.

"What the hell?" Bucky murmured.

"It is," Rose muttered, aghast. "Well shi-it."

"Oh not again," Steve muttered, scowling fiercely up at the heartless space whale. "This is not going to be fun."

Bucky went down to ground level, standing next to Steve.

"What the actual fuck is that?" he asked.

"You missed the Chitauri," Steve told him. "That is a giant space whale, like they had before." He made a face.

Rose managed to get up higher and started taking shots at the heartless.

"What the hell went wrong with the world this last time I was under?" Bucky wondered, still eyeing the space whale heartless. When Rose started taking shots at it, he propped his rifle on his metal shoulder and began to do the same.

Summer looked at her shield and grimaced.

"I really, really wish I had my giant key again," she said, raising her weapon. She glanced at Steve. "Okay. How should we come at this thing?"

"Get up to the head however we can," Steve told her. "Eyes are vulnerable. We can probably get at it from the eyes."

Rose managed to hear Steve over her rifle and started aiming for the eyes, hoping to maybe bring it down so Steve and Summer could get to it.

Bucky had already been aiming for the eyes; they were the most vulnerable spot he could see. He could definitely see that they were doing some damage.

Summer studied it for a moment, and then looked between the space whale and Steve's shield.

"If you vault me up there, can you follow somehow?" she asked.

Steve glanced from her to Bucky and grinned, that same sharp grin. "Done." He moved into position, readying himself and judging the distance and force needed. Oh this would definitely work. Also, Natasha would approve once she heard.

That sharp grin made Summer go just a little liquid inside even as she waited for his signal. Oh it was definitely not the time to be thinking such things. But later. Definitely later.
