More post-lengthening fun: avoid using these—"I want (to);" "I need to;" "I have to." These phrases were less common in usage until (at the earliest) a few hundred years ago.
"I need to" is a baby. Watch something old and listen for "I need to." "Want (for)" used to refer to "lack" rather than something you'd like to have. Try using "I should," "I must," or "I wish." |
