Amane 12-24-2017 04:51 PM

At least thou apologizest, Hummy. I also appreciate that sometimes thou tryest to remember to fix some small mistakes to make me smile.

hummy 12-24-2017 04:53 PM

I do that only for you

Amane 12-24-2017 04:54 PM

Thou meanest "only for thee." Thou couldst score a little extra gold if those start to pile up.

ghostPastry 12-24-2017 04:57 PM

whyefore art Amane speake in Early Modern English todae? :0

hummy 12-24-2017 04:57 PM

True but cellie is a pain and I am sloweth

Amane 12-24-2017 05:03 PM

Wherefore, dost thou ask? I speak with archaic English words today, tomorrow, and until the event cometh to a close—my intent is to take advantage of the double gold that shall be happening for the entire event. 'Tis too great a gift to waste. Shalt thou join me?

Mine old English is not perfect by any stretch of thine imagination. However, once I started, I found myself addicted! Even my self-talk has reverted to the older English!

At least I speak not in Old English.

hummy 12-24-2017 05:04 PM

Sashie~belle just yackedeth

ghostPastry 12-24-2017 05:07 PM

haha, i couldn't possibly bear to speak in any English older than today's English! i'm too much of a perfectionist, and i just don't have the data to do it right. plus, if i wrote in real Old English, no one would be able to understand me.

for example:
Quote:

Ær þæm þe Romeburg getimbred wære iiii hunde wintrum 7 hundeahtatigum, Uesoges, Egypta cyning, wæs winnende of suðdæle Asiam, oð him se mæsta dæl wearð underþieded.
[x]

all i know is that that says something about Egypt. -_-;

Kay 12-24-2017 05:16 PM

Im up to 1100.81 tokens now currently

ghostPastry 12-24-2017 05:17 PM

dang, nice!! i'm at 92.50

star2000shadow 12-24-2017 05:23 PM

star is up to twenty five point zero two time tokens 'sleepy blink' and wishing CI's and EI's would come out ..'sad sigh' ah well.

Amane 12-24-2017 05:24 PM

Yes, Old English is impossible.

I, too, am a perfectionist. I wish I could be certain of my knowledge of this middle phase of English.

ghostPastry 12-24-2017 05:30 PM

so difficult! and the letters that look like Bs are said like THs and there's a weird backwards 6 that's also said like TH, and all the ae's everywhere... [no] apparently google translate thinks Old English looks more like Icelandic than modern English. xD

Amane 12-24-2017 05:33 PM

Trust me, many times have I attempted to decipher Old English. I cannot!

hummy 12-24-2017 05:53 PM

Shakespeare is very hard to understand

Amane 12-24-2017 05:54 PM

I believe Shakespeare is Early Middle English.

hummy 12-24-2017 05:55 PM

It's hard no matter what

Amane 12-24-2017 05:56 PM

Shakespeare is hard but at least looketh like the English we speak.

hummy 12-24-2017 05:58 PM

Trueth and we geteth the jisteth

Amane 12-24-2017 05:59 PM

How I wish I could master Shakespearean words and other older English words.

hummy 12-24-2017 06:02 PM

Then i wouldn't understand you

Amane 12-24-2017 06:05 PM

Again, at least I speak Old English not!

hummy 12-24-2017 06:07 PM
