I still have some savings but it's dwindling. *sigh* [sweat]

Go you! And yeah, it's good to compare how you started off and where you are now, to see how far you've come. [yes] It's nice to know that all the effort hasn't been in vain.

MoodyBats 01-14-2019 01:52 AM

This piece though has gone through many changes. [lol]

but eventually i'll get her to look how i want her to[if i could just make up my mind]

Antagonist 01-14-2019 05:19 AM

lol Yeah, I often change my mind mid-drawing too and then spend lots of time changing it. [lol]

MoodyBats 01-14-2019 05:50 AM

My drawing literally went from
this in the beginning [x]
To this [x]
She's gone through many transformations since October. [lol]
I'm still also not 100% satisfied with her and just calling her done which is why I continuously work on it.

Antagonist 01-14-2019 06:53 AM

lol Yeah, that's quite a few changes [lol]

My OCs went through a bunch of changes too, from straight hair to curly, gold hair to white, etc. I'm still having trouble with drawing the hair.

MoodyBats 01-14-2019 06:56 AM

tbh this piece isn't even of an oc of mine.
just drew what came to my mind.

right now I am more wanting to understand coloring so i've been testing things out.
and added a few changes here and there.
but idk. I'm never satisfied with this piece.

Antagonist 01-14-2019 07:26 AM

I'm sure with more trying things out you'll find something that suits her eventually! [:)]

MoodyBats 01-14-2019 07:52 AM

I just get easily frustrated is my problem.

Antagonist 01-14-2019 09:28 AM

Same, which dis-encourages my will to draw which becomes a vicious cycle.

MoodyBats 01-14-2019 08:31 PM

for some reason I always see my learning process
as failing so i am working to change my mindset that I am learning. NOT failing.

though last night my tablet had it's a mind of its own and merged the lineart layer with another layer[the layer I was
coloring on] so that was kinda..upsetting. [evil]

Antagonist 01-15-2019 02:23 AM

Ugh I hate unwanted merges. [gonk] I sometimes get confused as to which layer I'm working on because I make so many...so I try to merge the ones like linearts with linearts, color with color etc. but sometimes it backfires and I can't go back and change it anymore because it's too many steps back. [sweat]

MoodyBats 01-15-2019 02:32 AM

If i do not label all layers there is a 99% chance i will draw
on the WRONG layer. Happens all the time. [headdesk]

For this art piece I use to have around 30. but i merged some and deleted some[i had like 10 blank ones].

But i never really merge any layers because they are like a safety net.
but my tablet was so rude to merge them. and I can ctrl+z only so many times until i can't.
So I kinda feel i ruined the piece. I'll probably have to redraw her entire face.

Antagonist 01-15-2019 04:40 AM

Your tablet just automatically merged them all? That sucks! :(

MoodyBats 01-15-2019 04:59 AM

No not all.
Just the lineart and color experiment layering.

I deleted some previously since most were blank or i no longer wanted what i had drawn.

Antagonist 01-15-2019 05:50 AM

That still sucks! Colors and lineart merging are the worst because it interferes with future coloring and lineart altering.

MoodyBats 01-15-2019 06:25 AM

I didn't color anything except the eyes.
but will have to revamp her face entirely.

Antagonist 01-15-2019 06:55 AM

Well...more practice I guess? [sweat]

MoodyBats 01-15-2019 10:24 PM

i wasn't satisfied with it anyways [lol]
I really hate how i drew her nose and didn't like her mouth.

so gives me more time to try out different eye shapes.

Antagonist 01-16-2019 04:18 AM

Yeah...I should probably practice drawing noses more, I only know how to draw like the one type of nose since forever. [lol];;

MoodyBats 01-16-2019 04:30 AM

I can only draw anime noses.
or cartoony.

But as i want to aim for semi-realism.
i have to learn to draw semi-realistic noses. but they always look weird on my art.
or they look like Voldemort. [headdesk]

Antagonist 01-16-2019 05:11 AM

Same, I started out drawing anime-styled and now it seems I'm stuck with it despite me wanting to go for semi-realism instead. It's hard trying to change drawing styles. The nose and face shape just kept on looking grotesque. [headdesk]

Voldemort?! Why?? [rofl]

MoodyBats 01-16-2019 05:57 AM

I really don't like drawing anime style but it's all I can draw
when it comes to noses. [headdesk]

Sometimes with semi-realism, you don't have to thoroughly draw the nose and you can just draw the nostrils and color
blend and shade the nose and it'll look fine.

Antagonist 01-16-2019 07:01 AM

Yeah...downside to only drawing anime-styled as a kid, now it's almost impossible to change that style. Ugh.

It's what I've been trying to do with the noses, but I get the Voldemort thing now. XD Didn't even realize the whole nostrils thing would look like him...>.>;

MoodyBats 01-16-2019 07:03 AM

not impossible just very challenging.

Maybe it's just my drawings then lol

Antagonist 01-16-2019 08:15 AM

Yeah, I tried changing my drawing style but it keeps reverting back to my old style. Grr.

lol No definitely not just your drawings, I just never noticed it in my own drawings xD;; Like I know something is odd about it but couldn't put my finger to what it was.
