So my friends and I REALLY like the Rocky Horror Picture Show. In lieu of an actual showing at a theater, we just decided to watch it in my friend's dorm. Everyone was required to dress up. So after borrowing my girlfriend's fishnets, stuffing some water balloons down my shirt and some light make-up, I was good to go.

And here, we have the group shot. My girlfriend is holding my leg up to make sure I don't fall over. :D

The only guy in a room full of scantily clad females, bet you had a fun evening

Pkero 02-28-2012 01:48 AM

Well I would have if my girlfriend hadn't been there to keep an eye on me!

I mean uh...

But in seriousness, yes, it was a lot of fun. Some more people showed up after this, most of them having no idea I would even consider dressing up for Rocky Horror, much less to that extent. Their expressions when they came in the apartment were priceless.

ElysiumFate 02-28-2012 02:51 AM

Haha, and my expression when I saw that picture was priceless. XD I love it though.

Anyway. I spent a half hour taking pictures of myself today just to update the dang cover photo and profile pic on facebook--and I need to send a pic to my grandmother to put a smile on her face. ^.^ Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple with you all due to this. :D

This is the one I sent to my grandmother:

And this one was pure luck/ended up my profile picture because I loved it so damned much XD:

What a nice pic :D I much prefer ones that aren't typically posed, and look more candid :D

HederaHelix 02-29-2012 08:06 PM

This one was more like a "I'll blind you with my camera out of the blue" pic. When I pose I don't look like myself.

ElysiumFate 03-01-2012 04:12 AM

All the people I know are so picture phobic that if I don't tie them down to chairs and make them pose, I'd never get any pictures. >.>

Draciolus 03-01-2012 07:06 AM

That's pretty similar to my friends Elysium. The only time that I got a picture with my best friend and another friend was at high school grad. Though, he did warn me that if I EVER put it up anywhere(even facebook) he would kill me. Thankfully, he doesn't visit this site.:ninja:

...After looking at the picture just now...I have decided I would like to live...even if he doesn't know about this....god was I ugly back then(mostly just my creepy smile). -.-

ElysiumFate 03-01-2012 07:34 AM

Hahaha, wow. I'm surprised a guy is that bad about it! I used to have a friend--key term used to--who flipped every time a picture of her was added to facebook. Like...you'd get death glares from her and mental breakdowns. That was the end of me liking her, actually. XP

Psh. Creepy smiles make pictures better! But nobody wants you killed, so save your life.

jellysundae 03-01-2012 06:24 PM

Girls are more obsessed about looking "pretty" than guys, I suppose. Guys hopefully don't spend hours doing their hair and make up etc. though

Funny how I bet it's the girls who take the longest making themselves look "pretty", who flip the most about their pictures being taken

And I say "pretty" like that because to me, at my ripe old age xD A lot of teen girls look bloody hideous after they've scened themselves up and all that

HederaHelix 03-01-2012 07:22 PM

Can't really understand how they think that all that makeup makes them pretty. Especially at teenage girls. I think that a BIT of eyeliner (not Cleopatra style) can advantage some and also small amounts of eyeshadow and things like this. But lots of them are so covered in makeup you have to go all archaeologist on their faces to really see them.

ElysiumFate 03-02-2012 02:51 AM

Yeah, I have to agree with you Jelly. It seems that a lot of teen girls think beautiful is a combo of skunk (hair), duck (lips), and raccoon (eyes). XD

I think natural beauty is the best--or makeup that's as close to natural as possible. A little mascara, some foundation to cover up the pimples, and a nude lip is what I tend to do. Sometimes I throw in a light dusting of gold eye shadow, too. ^.^ I only do my hair once every three days, so I don't waste too much time on that. For the most part, I can't afford more than 10 or 15 minutes to waste on beauty routines every day.

Draciolus 03-02-2012 06:12 AM

I personally like my women to wear very little make-up. Too much just tells me they are fake(most of them are 99% of the time too).

jellysundae 03-02-2012 06:29 AM

They get better with age Drac, honest!

Draciolus 03-02-2012 07:13 AM

Maybe the make-up part...but not the VERY little perfume...some of the girls I work with(who are 30+) wear so much perfume when they are upstairs at the bar, we can SMELL it downstairs, overpowering the food we are cooking.

Pkero 03-02-2012 05:59 PM

When my girlfriend was still in the dorms last semester, she was across the hall from a room full of fashion majors. Whenever they opened the door the smell of product would just pour out into the hallway. I will never understand why spraying as many chemicals on yourself as possible is considered fashionable. I'll stick to my jeans and t-shirts.

jellysundae 03-02-2012 08:50 PM

Pkero, that's a very male attitude xD But as long as that doesn't extend to shower gel and deodorant it's all good xD

The perfume thing...I dunno, some women seem to wear half a bottle at once. I used to work in a food factory, and one of the section managers used to wear what smelt like a whole can of body spray at once. The department I worked in was warehouse sized with a 3 storey high ceiling, and I could smell when she came into the department before a shift change.

She should have been told to stop wearing so much, but because she was a manager nothing would have been said, but you can guarantee that her scent would have tainted the raw meat around where she was standing.

Draciolus 03-02-2012 10:44 PM

Yeah, that's one thing the Chef complains about, the smell of her perfume tainting the food. Since a lot of our tastes are actually smells, it is understandable that some of it will taint what we are trying to serve to the customers.

ElysiumFate 03-02-2012 11:46 PM

Hey, men OD on cologne every once in awhile, too. I once went out with a guy friend on a date, and this guy would never wear cologne on a daily basis, but he showed up to that date smelling like he'd made love to a skunk because (a) the cologne did smell like skunk, and (b) he used so much of it you couldn't breathe within a three mile radius of him. XD

Draciolus 03-03-2012 12:15 AM

To be perfectly honest...I don't wear cologne. I'm too poor to buy decent smelling stuff...and I don't really need it. :ninja:

Suona 03-03-2012 03:09 AM

My bf puts on axe sometimes, but I love the smell of his deoderant the most. Its Spice and the fiji scent. It is amazing. And the smell of it will linger on his clothes all day, and its not too strong of a smell either. Its just perfect. ^^

I will put a small spritz of my perfume on sometimes. I use to put it on daily when I was going to the college, so I would smell nicely in class and around friends, but now I am just working and spending time with my bf, really. So, I usually dont even wear perfume, unless I put a little on real quick before I head to his house. Its not a strong scent, though, thankfully.

But i've met plenty of people that smell waaaayy too strong. I can't imagine how people dont notice it, either. If its so strong that its burning my nose when i'm not even sitting that close to them, then they should realize its too much just on themselves. I dont think perfume needs to be something that people will smell standing next to you. Just something to smell nice when you're in close contact with people. Hugs and what not.

ElysiumFate 03-03-2012 03:20 AM

I put on perfume most every day, but it's a very small spritz of the stuff because it's such a highly concentrated scent. You can smell a tiny whiff of it if you're standing next to me--like a foot away--but that's it, and that's the way I like it. ^.^ Perfumes are meant to tease the senses, I think, not kill them.

Also, I kind of get the idea that people who stink to high hell because of the amount of perfume they have on tend to be people who don't wear it much. Or it's a girl who worked out and didn't get the chance to shower. :ninja:

What's worse to me than perfume, though, is when somebody comes to class, or sits next to you on a bus, who literally just put out a cigarette two seconds ago. >.> Air yourself out, man.

@Drac: Rocking your own pheromones, huh? ;)

jellysundae 03-03-2012 03:38 AM

I think people maybe start with a normal amount of scent, then over time they use more and more and more, as you generally can't smell a fragrance that you're wearing unless it's a brand new one.

Woah, GOD no. I keep clean. o_o And I understand the basic shampoo, conditioner, hair product thing. If I had longer hair, I'd keep it under control, too. I just remember standing waiting for the elevator and one of the fashion majors walked by me and I just started coughing from the scent. It's just too much for me.
