bepanthen is similar in that regard

Vaseline is an awful idea. First 2-3 days you can use something like A&D, but after that you only want to use Aquaphor or a plain, unscented lotion. (Aquaphor can be used from the very first day) Cocoa butter salve is also okay to use. You don't ever want to use vaseline though. I say all this as someone who worked at a tattoo shop for 4 years and have seen the results of people using it. (not our customers, but people coming in to get things fixed) It's not worth the risk.
