With any luck it will trickle over to the US and you'll be able to find some way to watch it, it was really good [yes]

steelmagghia 03-05-2014 11:29 PM

I may have decided this time to actually chop my hair off

jellysundae 03-07-2014 10:59 PM

Peace sign, yeah right, Jeremy xD I'm not used to your shorter hair yet, makes you look entirely different. [:O]

All of it, Su [:O] Like, crew cut?

Haha, well I'll certainly support you, but boy howdy is that gonna be a change for you!

Suona 03-07-2014 11:35 PM

No! Definitely not a crew cut! [lol]
I was thinking probably about breast height. I have been wanting to sell it, so that'd be about 22 inches, which would be about $500. But I could possibly decide to do it a little bit shorter. I'm not sure yet.

steelmagghia 03-07-2014 11:39 PM

I would totally do it for $500.

jellysundae 03-08-2014 12:52 AM

The thing with hair your length Su, is you can have a massive amount cut off, and it will still be really long compared to normal hair lengths. ><

steelmagghia 03-08-2014 01:19 AM

Truth. Sue is like Rapunzel.

Suona 03-08-2014 01:56 AM

Lol. I use to work with kids for a few years, and I had a couple of students that would call me Rapunzel. Lol And I have customers at work that call me it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It grows pretty fast, so it wouldn't take it too long to get it a bit long again. Plus I always want to do cute hairstyles but can't because I have too much hair.

steelmagghia 03-08-2014 02:11 AM

Heavy hair and lots of it get pretty limiting.

Suona 03-08-2014 10:16 AM

Aaah, people make it so hard, though! I just got so many compliments at work today on my hair, I can't even believe it! @[email protected]
One of my coworkers came in with 2 of his friends and they were saying how pretty it is and I told them that I'll probably be chopping it off soon and they all shouted "NOOOOO!!" [rofl] they freaked out a little saying I couldn't do that. They even came around to feel it and see how heavy it is [lol]

I have always found the question "is that really your hair?" To be an odd one. I get it rather frequently and have yet to really understand the theory behind it.

steelmagghia 03-08-2014 04:39 PM

Awww, but it grows back! You do have some uniquely pretty hair, though.
And they're wondering if you have hair extensions.

jellysundae 03-08-2014 06:33 PM

All you have to remember is it's your hair, growing out of your head. No-one else's opinion matters except yours.

Also, it's still going to be just as thick as it is now, you'll still be able to braid it and get those beautiful waves (you'll just be able to do that in half the time and your arms won't feel quite so like they're going to fall off).

People will still comment on your lovely hair, and the lose of some of the weight of it will probably make you feel almost like you can float instead of walking.

If it grows that quickly you could make a regular yearly donation of some of it and save that money for something specific. Or if you got it cut in November, it could take a couple of hundred bucks off your Christmas shopping bill each year! I figure that if you got it cut once a year you'd not have quite as much length removed, so you'd make less for it.

But then when I was at school and my mum only got my hair cut twice a year; it would go from pixie cut length to past my shoulders in 6 months, so who knows?

Suona 03-08-2014 08:00 PM

Yeah, I think that when I'm home I will do an oil treatment to it, and then take some nice pictures of it and put them up on the website and see what kind of offers I get. If I get a great offer, then I'll chop it off and send it their way [lol] But the thing is I think that they prefer to buy it after it's been straight cut off your head and then like proof from the hairdresser. So, I don't know how well I could do that before since I don't really know the process. Plus, once I saw a girl on there that was selling a certain amount of inches, and the buyer requested she wait a few months for it to grow some amount longer and they'd pay a bit more for it. Sooo, idk. We'll see what happens, I guess.

Good for you for looking into it though. Whatever option you go for, you have a money making machine on your head there! It's not going to get you rich, but it can guarantee a nice payout once a year or so, and help people like cancer patients out enormously, and that would give you huge warm fuzzies!

Ooh, does Vanora: wear contacts. [ninja]

Suona 03-08-2014 09:36 PM

Yeah, that last time I chopped it it was only 14 inches, and I donated that.
While I was growing it back out to donate again, I then realized I can sell it, and at this time I could really use the money :( Perhaps later in my life when I am financially stable I will be able to donate again.

I'm not sure how much I could get for a short amount like 6 inches, but I wonder if it would be more affective to do it that way. I'll have to gauge how fast it grows and how much that goes for.

Yeah, they can make it into wigs, or they often can make it into hair extensions for people whose hair won't really grow. [yes]

-nods- It was the light reflection that made me wonder. I still find it weird that I can't see soft lenses >< I used to wear semi-permeable contacts and those were easier to spot if you know what you were looking for.

If you need the cash then potentially getting $500 for your hair is amazing, Su! :D

Vanora 03-09-2014 01:01 AM

I actually want to get circle lenses, but I always hear bad stuff about them. So I've been doing research on which brand is more reliable than others. Not that there aren't bad things about soft lenses, I guess it just depends on brand and who sells them.

Wait... you can get 500$ for selling your hair? o.o
