I don't want to know how Cherry knows what mopping solution tastes like. [ninja]

My parents have a kitty named Eddie. He has ginger hair the same color as my hair :)

Cherry Who? 03-28-2014 12:33 AM

Cute! And so's the kitty!

Jelly - I knew someone would say that! It tasted like what mopping solution smells like. [ninja] Could have been the orange, though.

I can't stand the smell of beer either. Smells like vomit to me. But this stuff did smell different - like oranges - and my friend offered to let me try it, so I figured why not? It was Blue Moon, by the way. It really wasn't awful, just strange. I prefer my fruity cocktails.

steelmagghia 03-28-2014 12:44 AM

I really get frustrated, because Samuel Adams' commercials make beer sound like it would taste like bread dough or something. It sounds SO AMAZING. And then I tried it and it's just another gross beer.

Cherry Who? 03-28-2014 12:50 AM

Yeah, they really have a way of making it sound appealing, don't they? Then you just give a sniff and, ew, smells like toxic vom. My parents buy this local pumpkin beer in the fall that they swear is the best stuff ever. It is the nastiest smelling thing I've ever had the displeasure of sniffing.

jellysundae 03-28-2014 12:53 AM

I apologise for being so predictable [gonk]

Cherry Who? 03-28-2014 12:58 AM

Figured you'd say that

Nah, just messing with you. [lol] [hug]

steelmagghia 03-28-2014 12:58 AM

Wait, what? I do not understand how jelly is predictable.

*rereads and sees Cherry's comment*
Oh, whoops, now I get it, haha.

jellysundae 03-28-2014 01:13 AM

Cherry's messing with my head. [cry]

steelmagghia 03-28-2014 01:15 AM

Poor jelly. *pets head*

Suona 03-28-2014 05:08 AM

Yeah, and then many people say they didn't like beer when they first started drinking it either, and that it's largely an acquired taste. Bleck. I couldn't even imagine forcing myself to drink that crud.

Like Cherry said, even the smell is revolting. I have to stifle a vomit if people that are drinking beer burp. If you think it smelt bad just coming from the bottle, then you'll be sorely surprised to find it only triples in stench after it's taken a visit to someone's stomach and back up. [puke]

onsenmark 03-28-2014 05:15 AM

For the record, I can tolerate only two brands of beer: National Bohemian and Corona. That's pretty much it.

I bought a bottle of "Monty Python's Holy Ail" once. I pretty much bought it for the bottle, because what was inside was disgusting.

And Sapporo was worse; I took one swig of a can and the remainder immediately was poured into the toilet. That stuff was VILE.

Cherry Who? 03-28-2014 05:19 AM

Oh my goodness, you want to talk about gross alcohol? WINE. People talk that shit up like it's the most elegant thing you could drink. If beer is mopping fluid, wine is cat spray. And the stuff I had was supposed to be one of the sweetest, "easiest to drink" varieties. Granted, the stuff I had was pretty cheap. But my boyfriend swears it's the only kind he can drink and the stuff he drinks is nearly as fruity as what I like.

I don't get "acquired taste" stuff. Why would anyone want to suffer through something awful just to get used to it? They say the same thing about coffee. I just drink cappuccino - same boost, and it actually tastes good. I don't drink it enough for the extra calories to be an issue; just drink it to help me get through a 10 hour school day or a workshift on very little sleep. I'm not yet at the point where I live off it like some people.

Pistachio_Moustache 03-28-2014 06:00 AM

I'm with Cherry.
I totally agree with everything she just said.
xD

Cherry Who? 03-28-2014 06:03 AM

Like, even my parents, who can drink some seriously hard stuff, think wine is nasty. That's gotta be a sign.

Suona 03-28-2014 06:21 AM

Cherry, you and I would get along quite well. [lol] I feel the same. Whenever friends, family, or boyfriend are drinking alcohol I will try a drink just to check, and they're generally all horrid. Wine is awful. People talk very highly of it indeed, but will also say it's an acquired taste. Well, red wine is also dreadful for your teeth. As is coffee. Another thing I can't stand to drink (it makes my stomach actually ill). I am a bit fond of cappuccino mixes, though, and caramel Frappuccino's, however they still tend to make my stomach unwell if I drink much. But adding a little fit of coffee into hot cocoa is quite lovely :)

Cherry Who? 03-28-2014 06:24 AM

The first time I drank a cappuccino, I accidentally drank it way too fast, and I ended up sweating, shaking, and feeling ill. I pace myself more now. [ninja]

Pistachio_Moustache 03-28-2014 07:15 AM

If I have too much sugar, I get sick.
So, coffee is a no-no for me, because I DUMP sugar into it for my taste.

steelmagghia 03-28-2014 03:51 PM

Heh, I actually do like some wines. Sangria (but only from certain places) and Moscato d'Asti (but only certain brands) are delicious and fruity to me. But my first alcoholic drinks were wines and champagnes, so that probably makes a difference.

jellysundae 03-28-2014 04:40 PM

I don't like much white wine, most is too dry for me, and red wine? VINEGAR!

One wine I really like is this:
http://staging.ampmdirect.co.uk/medi...ossom-hill.png
That's a delicious and fruity one, to my taste buds anyway, and it's pink! Get someone to buy a glass of that for themselves so you can try a sip, Cherry!

Unless it's one that's already on your cat spray list. [ninja]

steelmagghia 03-28-2014 04:43 PM

Zinfandels still aren't fruity enough for me. Haha. But Moscato is!

jellysundae 03-28-2014 04:49 PM

Never tried that. I bought a bottle of the Blossom Hill years ago to take to my mum's one Sunday. I chose it because it was pink and the name was pretty [ninja] Totally female reasons for picking wine. xD We've pretty much stuck with it since because me, my mum and my sister all liked it. ><

So Moscato is fruitier hmm? I shall bear that in mind and look out for it when it's on offer. I might go look on Tesco's website now and see about adding a bottle to my shop that's being delivered on Tuesday. ;D

steelmagghia 03-28-2014 04:51 PM

Yeah. Moscato is a dessert wine, so it's suuuper sweet. There's two kinds, a regular Moscato, which is not as good to me, or a Moscato d'Asti, which has bubbles in it and is 10000 times better than any other wine if you ask me, haha.
This is one of my favorite brands:Bella Bolle'

jellysundae 03-28-2014 04:55 PM

Oh, I like dessert wine. I've bought Muscatel before. That was honeyed and delicious, but more than a small glass gave me a stinking headache xD

All the Moscato's Tesco sells are at least £7/$11.50 a bottle [gonk] So no wine for me to try!

steelmagghia 03-28-2014 05:05 PM

Awww, that is a shame! But yeah, dessert wine is where it's at, man.
