I have to shower as soon as I get up or else I feel nasty all day, so overnight things are not an option for me. [:(]

[heart] Tight ponytails 4ever [heart]

[lol] I think it's because I grew up always doing ballet, so from the age of 6-19, my hair was always slicked back into a tight tight tight bun. Now, anything looser than that feels uncomfortable.

Braids are such a friend to curly hair, though. Learning how to french braid with my own head was one of the best (and most frustrating!) things I've done.

Maxipuff 04-09-2014 11:24 PM

Oh don't worry, my mom said I couldn't dye my hair, too.
That's why I waited til I was older. [XP] Haha, I wasn't allowed to do a lot of things.

Wigs are fun too, though! ^__^ What would you want a tattoo of?
And I'm excited to see your airbrushed one [:B]

Cherry Who? 04-09-2014 11:26 PM

Braids are super pretty, but I never keep my hair long enough for them. I keep it just below my shoulders. Once it gets long enough that I can "censor myself" with it, I trim it. [lol]

Oh tight ponytails are nasty anyway, too school girl I think. I'd imagine a low side ponytail would look lovely, and you can wear a headband with it to pin down any sprays.

Have you tried this method?

SPOILERX

This is mainly for heat free curls, but the method gives you a super cute vintage look in the process, so win/win! Once you had the technique down it would keep your hair perfectly tidy even on really windy day, too.

OH MY GOD! I am so doing this when my hair grows out again! [squee]

Yeeeees. Ballet buns=strong as steel. I can't do loose buns or ponytails because if feels like everything is falling down. But I do do clippies.

jellysundae 04-10-2014 02:22 AM

You could put your hair in a French braid, Cherry. [yes] Mine is somewhere between collar and shoulder length and I can up it in a French braid. I've run out of hair by the time I get to the base of my head, but I can just tuck the ends away and secure the area with a pretty clip. [yes]

With thicker/longer hair you can just gather it at the nape of the neck. Looks prettier with a nicer means of gathering it than just this plain bit of elastic, of course.

Mags, if you try that method, I wanna see! [eager]

steelmagghia 04-10-2014 02:31 AM

I totally will post pictures! But it'll be a couple of months before the back is long enough to do it.

Cherry Who? 04-10-2014 05:13 AM

That would look so pretty! I don't know if I could do it by myself, though. Maybe I could convince my boyfriend to do it for me? [lol] He did cut my hair last time around... His idea, not mine!

jellysundae 04-10-2014 05:28 AM

I learnt to do it myself just from trying, it doesn't always come out hugely neat, but it's not difficult if you know how to plait hair normally, just mildly fiddly. Just split your hair until three sections at the front/top and away you go. Give it a try, you may surprise yourself. =3

Cherry Who? 04-10-2014 05:30 AM

In that photo, though, she's got sections coming in partway down the braid. The only way I've ever done braids didn't do that. It would definitely take some practice, but I'll have to try sometime.

jellysundae 04-10-2014 06:26 AM

yeah, you add a new section for each bit you put into the braid, but it's fairly simple, honest. Just takes some juggling with your fingers.

Ok, just quickly done mine, took approx 1 minute so don't expect neatness >< Took infinitely longer to get a picture of the back of my head! [illgetu]

That looks cute! The possibility of practice making it go down to <1 min to do is alluring, too. I have to tie my hair back for work anyway, so this would be a nice alternative. Would probably lend some pretty waves once let down, too!

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-10-2014 06:38 AM

[:O] I should try and learn to do that! Especially knowing that it could get down to a minute. [lol]
Would it work okay without hair on the sides?

jellysundae 04-10-2014 06:57 AM

Don't see why not, Iku! I'd like to see how that would look, actually, pretty badass I'd have thought. Honestly starting the French braid off is the hardest part, as you have the 3 sections to keep hold of and manoeuvre, once you've made those first 3 moves and are adding a new bit from the side each time it's a cinch. It's just getting to know how much to add each time, and that's down to how it looks at the end really, how fat you want the bits of the braid to be.

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-10-2014 07:09 AM

\ o /!
I'll have to find a nice dumbed-down tutorial. [lol]

jellysundae 04-10-2014 07:11 AM

I was looking for one, but all the ones I found were people doing someone else's hair, not their own. [illgetu]

---------- Post added 04-10-2014 at 08:16 AM ----------

Found one! This one's pretty good. I use my thumb to seperate the hair I'm adding each time, so the way she does it with her forefinger looks weird and awkward, lol, but that's how I do mine, really.

Cherry Who? 04-10-2014 07:25 AM

Thanks, I'll check that out! [:D]

jellysundae 04-10-2014 07:27 AM

Awesome, hope it works for you, it really is so much more elegant-looking than a pony tail, and you can braid pretty things into your hair, too. :O

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-10-2014 07:47 AM

Ooh, I like that vid. Simple and straight to the point.
Slowly getting the hang of it. Just need to practice more. P:

jellysundae 04-10-2014 09:01 AM

Still got purple hands? [ninja]

Maxipuff 04-10-2014 09:57 AM

M-me...? [blush]

Well, my nails are re-stained purple every time I wash my hair, haha.
It's like I don't even have to paint them!

Lexadis 04-10-2014 10:05 AM

I can't even braid my own hair >.< and French braiding would be... A miracle, if I can pull it off [lol] I can't braid because my hands starts hurting after awhile of holding my hand at the back of my head XD
All I ever do is just brush my hair and twist it upwards, secure a peg and let the hair fall down. It would look like a ponytail but thicker and bigger :D and I hate wearing wool bands or any thing with which I have to tie my hair, because in my opinion they.. Smell bad [lol] So.. I'm stuck with using pegs >.<

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-10-2014 10:42 AM

@Jelly: Nope! I washed them. [lol]

@Maxi: Oh nooo! I have purple hair too. [yes] Though mine is more towards the blue scale. What dye did you use? [:D]

Maxipuff 04-10-2014 10:45 AM

Oh cool!! Any pictures? I used Special Effects Pimpin Purple. [lol]
What about you?

Ikuto Akihiko Hasegawa 04-10-2014 10:57 AM

Here's one of the back the night it was finished. [yes]
http://i62.tinypic.com/9vlflk.jpg

Hopefully I can get some decent ones of the front soon. [lol]

We used Manic Panic in Lie Locks. My friend who did most of the work was more familiar with Manic Panic. The hope is to let this one fade a bit and then redo more of the bottom so it will have more of a gradual effect.
