I've seen lots of people having squirrels as pets. Does that work out? Where do they sleep? O_O Do they go outside and eventually come back? |
I can tell you in the state of Texas, it is illegal to own a wild, native animal as a pet. Wild and non-native you just need a permit.
Although squirrels as in red or grey squirrels, not chipmunks....I REALLY wouldn't recommend. We hand raised them at the wildlife center. Bottle fed, well loved on, and they all grew up to be bitey little twerps. I have no experience with chipmunks. |

Thanks! c: Love the purple in your hair, it looks great with your skintone! ^_^ He's not a squirrel, he's a chipmunk. Squirrels are different, they're a lot bigger and a bit more aggressive. Not everywhere has chipmunks from what I understand? Anywho! He's not really my pet, he lives outside. He just is allowed to come in and hang out and get some peanuts. My boyfriend and I are obsessed with wildlife and "train" them to be our friends ehehe. I don't believe in capturing wild animals and keeping them, but some are born in captivity and apparently can have good lives/be good pets! @Mogwai Thank you! ^o^ I've had pink hair for ten years this August. As for domestic squirrels, it's legal in Missouri, but only if you buy them from a licensed breeder. No taking in wild animals. |
