And, no, she never properly smiles unless there are no cameras around. She's weird about her teeth, even though they're perfectly normal teeth.

Nah, I can totally get a band in that. I have really fine hair. I am a master braider.

Awww, but 4'9" is an adorable size! I bet people help you out with things. Although I bet they try to pick you up all the time too. I never pick people up without permission, but I know my shorter friends do not appreciate it.

Are you guys talking about my hair?
It's thicker than it looks, I assure you~

Lexii 07-10-2014 12:35 AM

We're talking about how silky it is [:P]

McNugget 07-10-2014 12:36 AM

Ohhh. [oops]

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 12:46 AM

Oh I love to smile. But I'm a natural smiler, so smiling at the camera feels natural to me as well.
My sister has a lot of hang ups and insecurities. Which is funny, because she's very pretty. I don't have time for hangups like that. It's exhausting being self conscious and you miss out on so many things! I mean, I'm realistic. I'm very overweight (definitely obese), and the larger I get the less symmetrical my face is. I have small eyes that squint when I smile, and my hair is a weird in between color. But I'm pretty okay with myself, and I just don't care to modify my behavior based on my flaws.

Lexii: It's definitely HARDER to do silky hair, but you can do it if you make it nice and tight and have a hair band on your wrist all ready.
Awww, family is always a jerk about shortness. My friend Madhavi, whose wedding I went to, is about your height. But that made her a perfect size for lifts in dances.

I can relate to that! I learned early that being self-conscious about my weight, smile, and any other flaws I may have is just not worth the energy. That energy could be spent making other people feel better about themselves, which in turn, makes me feel better about myself! I'm obese, as well, and though I know my weight isn't healthy and I'm working to be healthier, I'm still happy with what I have. I won't sit and tell myself what I hate about my body, but I'll tell myself what I love. I have a great, curved waist, a big booty (which grabbed my boyfriend's attention when we first met, haha), and some pretty powerful legs. Of course, there's things I don't like about my body, but it's all a part of what makes me unique!

SuperZombiePotatoe 07-10-2014 04:02 AM

It's weird, I'm that person who is constantly smiling... But smiling for a camera always feels kinda weird [XP]

Exactly! Being self conscious is a waste of energy. I do want to lose weight for things like my health, and because clothes cost half as much once you go under the size 14 mark. And also because it didn't used to hurt to be in a car for a long time before I gained the last 100 pounds in vet school.
I spend more time concentrating on things I like about myself like my brain, my eyes, and my boobs. Cause boobs are awesome. [yes]

It's probably also partially that I'm trained to perform. A stage, a mirror, or a camera will cause me to auto smile.

SuperZombiePotatoe 07-10-2014 04:08 AM

Auto smiling... That's a neat trick, you must admit [cool]

Also, love you guys! You make want to try and feel less self conscious with all that positivity!!!

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 04:15 AM

Haha, it is. You can actually find dancers in a crowd by bringing out a camera. We'll all automatically smile and pose. It's just what we do. [rofl]

Awww, I'm so glad! People should be happy with themselves! Everyone is wonderful in their own way. That should be celebrated.

SuperZombiePotatoe 07-10-2014 04:26 AM

Just smile and wave, guys. Smile and wave [;)]

So true!... But is still hard sometimes. I'm mostly happy with myself, but right now I'm so insecure with my face. I have sever acne... Had it for years. Medication took it away for a while, but now it's back and just as red and painful as ever [whip]. I don't even take pictures anymore and it doesn't help that everywhere you go people ask "Are you doing any thing about your face" [stare]
Oh well, perseverance and hope and a diet change... And you guys with all the good vibes [boogie]

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 04:29 AM

Aww, I'm sorry! I'm certain it's not as bad as you think it is. I have adult acne (yay for acne that never goes away! /sarcasm) too, but birth control pills keep mine in check mostly. And I use a salicylic acid wash because I'm allergic to benzyl peroxide.
I mostly hate how much it hurts. And how covering it up with makeup just makes it worse. I'll bet your face is still beautiful, though!

Cherry Who? 07-10-2014 04:39 AM

I have bad adult acne too. Cystic, even. Massive, massive lumps that ooze banana slugs after sitting around painfully for a few weeks. Yuck. [gonk]

The 4th marked one year since my boyf and I's first date. Maybe someday I'll share a pic in here that is just me, not the two of us, but today is not that day. [lol] A photo from the weekend's celebrations...

SuperZombiePotatoe 07-10-2014 04:41 AM

It feels bad.
*pokes acne*

I've tried a lot of washes, but never that. Maybe I should look it up. Right now I put a sandalwood and rosewater mask on my face, which takes the redness away. I love you sandalwood [love]

That's still lovely of you to say, though [hug]

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 04:46 AM

Awww, Cherry. You guys look adorable. Yeah, mine is occasionally cystic as well. I get them in my EARS!!! It hurts SO BAD! You can't even see them until they're almost ready to burst, but the pain kills me.

Awww, SZP. Yeah it does hurt. Hopefully your hormones change a bit as you get older. Hormonal changes seem to be the best cure for acne.

SuperZombiePotatoe 07-10-2014 04:52 AM

*pokes hormones*

In your ears?! O_o
Wow that sounds bad! I got one in my nose once that was taerful agony, but that was a while ago.
*shudders*

Banana slugs, though. Never heard that comparison before [lol]

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 04:55 AM

Yeah. I have a little nubbin where part of my ear is missing and it gets them a lot. It hurts SO BAAAAD. But like I said, since I started birth control, it's A LOT better.

---------- Post added 07-10-2014 at 12:01 AM ----------

For reference, this is how tiny my nubbin is:

onsenmark 07-10-2014 05:17 AM

* O_o 's at nubbin *

And I'm in my early 40's, and I STILL get the occasional zit. All I can say is, "lol wut". [sweat]

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 05:22 AM

Haha, it's weird isn't it? But apparently my ear was folded over in the womb, so my lobe got split in two. The other ear is perfectly normal.

---------- Post added 07-10-2014 at 12:22 AM ----------

And seriously, one would thing that when you got older, one of the benefits should definitely be "no more zits"

onsenmark 07-10-2014 05:24 AM

I think I've got something like that at the bottom of my right earlobe, but it's really small.

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 05:26 AM

Haha, nice! My littlest cousin actually has a malformed left ear too (hers is just a bit smaller than the other one, she doesn't have a nubbin), but we call them our special ears.

SuperZombiePotatoe 07-10-2014 05:29 AM

*waves at nubbin*

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 05:31 AM

Hehe. Nubbin loves!
Alrighty, I am heading to bed! Goodnight guys!

neller 07-10-2014 05:35 AM

I've always been lucky in a way of acne. I only get the occasional bump here or there. Mostly because of...my "lady days." But my face stays pretty clear except for my huge pores. Haha.

You two are too stinkin' cute! Congrats! :D You look so happy!

My boyfriend and I are about to reach 4 1/2 years together! Year One for us feels so long ago. Haha.

Mine might actually be a very small mole, I dunno.

steelmagghia 07-10-2014 05:25 PM

Haha, then yours is MUCH smaller than mine.
