I fill my eyebrows in. It's one of the most useful makeup skills I've learned... I think it totally changes my face. I love love love people who have good eyebrows. <3

steelmagghia 07-25-2014 03:44 AM

I do it for performances, but I just have a hard time seeing myself with eyebrows, I guess. I WANT to have them, but I always think they look weird when I do them. [lol]
You will learn that I whine about my eyebrows a lot.

It took me a while to get used to it actually! At first I thought it looked too harsh. But now I can't go a day without filling them in. And I look at old pictures of myself and I'm like... "Wow, who WAS I back then?" xD

I just know in my case I get embarrassed when people compliment me. I grew up getting picked on a lot and it messed with my self esteem, even as an adult. So I'll just blush and kind of say "no, me? No way."[oops] I know it's annoying and I've tried to be gracious and stop doing that... but so far, no luck.

The Wandering Poet 07-25-2014 04:12 AM

nah those are the cute ones. The ones that won't admit it.

Mebbe - I guess it just depends on the person. "Eye of the beholder" and all that. [angel] I just generally make it my social goal to try and be gracious with kind words, even if it doesn't work out that way all the time!

The Wandering Poet 07-25-2014 06:08 AM

Well as the beholder of my eyes, I thought you looked very pretty [yes] so it is now fact.

fireprincess 07-25-2014 02:53 PM

I haven't posted a pic since I got back from Florida, and I got a tan while I was there! [boogie] I'm really excited about it because I'm usually super pale. I didn't even have to put powder on for this pic, I was able to just use mascara! Yay less makeup :D

Also, I love anchors! anchors <3

I really like the lighting on this one :)

jellysundae 07-25-2014 03:03 PM

I had to share those bags, so other people can feel sad about not having one too. [blush] xD

Stop being nice, Poet, you're making me nervous. ><

I totally agree. [yes]

Wow, we'll all pretty bad in our way at accepting niceness from others, aren't we? lol.

Sammi do you curl your hair? Or does it look that amazing naturally?

steelmagghia 07-25-2014 03:09 PM

Fireprincess, you totally don't need powder. Your skin is gorgeous!

Sammi: I have developed the response "Well aren't you sweet!" to compliments. It's very Southern and essentially returns a compliment and accepts it without agreeing. I feel a lot less awkward saying that than just "thank you".

I found a bag and wallet I want with the same pattern, particularly the wallet. Thanks Jelly [poke]
Saaaay, anyone know what the price transfers to US dollars? [ninja]

Thanks :} I use a powder that's darker than my skin tone so I don't look as pale and it gives my skin more of a healthy glow/more natural look. Being anemic is no fun

The Wandering Poet 07-25-2014 04:08 PM

@ jelly - I can start calling you a mean old lady again if you prefer [poke]

@ Fire - if you google pounds to dollars a little converter pops up [yes]
Though shipping will probably cost a decent amount

fireprincess 07-25-2014 04:44 PM

Thanks poet!

Holy....the wallet I want would be $54.35 :O Yeeeeah, that's ok. I'll stick to buying Coach at the outlets/on eBay. Somehow it ends up being cheaper at times. Is that website designer purses? Like the equivalent of like a Coach, Channel, Gucci, etc.?

Vanora 07-25-2014 04:52 PM

Sammi and Fire are super pretty. ; n;
I'm also jealous of you guys' hair, it's so long and pretty. oTL

Sammi 07-25-2014 05:02 PM

Poet & Vanora: Aww. <3 I'm gonna have to take a page out of steel's book and say y'all are so sweet!

Vanora: I always always always keep my hair long. I absolutely adore short hair on other people, but if it's not past my shoulders, I hate it on me.

Jelly: My hair is curled with a curling iron in that pic. I cheated. XD Naturally, it's wavy - and poofy. I usually curl it at least one day a week, the other days I straighten it. c: I have a 1 1/2" curling iron and I love making barrel curls with it.

Fire, you are gorgeous! And I love anchors too. :D *high fives*

D'aaaw thanks [blush]
My hair used to be much longer but I got it cut earlier this year for school. It grows soooo fast

I know that feel. .__. I need to get mine cut again, but I'm saving to get it dyed at the same time too. I want to get the underside dyed black and keep the top layers brown.

I used to have purple hair! I'll have to dig up a photo.

It was dark dark dark purple - almost black. I miss it!

Vanora 07-25-2014 05:12 PM

Sammi; Fire;

I used to have really long hair, but then I had the genius idea of cutting it short.
Ever since, I can't seem to keep my hair past my shoulders before I get annoyed.
I honestly miss my long hair, but I can't stand it anymore.

Fire; My hair grows really slow. It takes forever to grow out.
I'm conflicted when it comes to having long hair or not. [lol]

Sammi 07-25-2014 05:15 PM

Vanora, I feel like if I did that and then saw how easy it would be to manage short, I probably wouldn't go back either. XD I'd just get used to it. My hair is super super hard to manage due to its length.

Vanora 07-25-2014 05:21 PM

Oh I agree. My hair is so much easier to manage when it's short.
Especially since I have or had thick hair. Showering was a pain, not to mention how long it took to dry. e ue

So if you enjoy your long luscious locks, don't cut it super short! [lol]

Sammi 07-25-2014 05:24 PM

I have very thick hair too! I always get my hairdresser to razor it and cut layers in it that way when I get it cut. Thick hair is both a boon and a curse. It looks lovely but it can be difficult to manage. XD

I'll keep it long for a while, I'm sure! Although I've definitely considered how I might look with a chin-length bob. :P It would be weird for me.

jellysundae 07-25-2014 05:44 PM

My hair's really fine, so I have the opposite problem, I wish it was a bit thicker, but I know I'd struggle with it enormously if it was actually thick. Barrel curls are great, they look so lovely. <3

You needn't bother, Poet xD

Fireprincess, the company that makes those bags is the same kind of level as Cath Kidston, I'd say. Not designer like Gucci etc. But still kind of pricey, so cute though, so if the quality is there, worth it if you have the funds. Their items look to be excellent quality, one day I will find out. [insane]

Sammi 07-25-2014 05:46 PM

Jelly, I'll give you some of my thick hair. Then we'll be even. XD

jellysundae 07-25-2014 06:26 PM

That works for me!

I was reading the last couple pages to catch up on the thread and saw your pic. It is soooo beautiful!! You said you pencil your eyebrows in? I would have never been able to tell! You did such a good job! Also, I love your eye makeup, glasses, and hair btw.
Thank you for the compliment! :D Yes!!! Anchors for the win!! *high fives back*
