Thank you, mystic! [oops]

Kah Hilzin-Ec 11-18-2014 03:32 AM

Vanora, I'm under the impression you're always "a bit serious", but I haven't been a serious stalker lately so I can't really tell if it was just luck that I see you always "a bit serious". Anyways, I like your face. It looks soft and chewable, like... like a marshmallow! Yes, as sweet as a marshmallow. Such a cutie~

I was being pretty derpy that day. [sweat]

Vanora 11-18-2014 07:14 PM

Kah: - Nope. You're right. I'm almost always serious in my pictures. /.\ About 90% of my pictures consist of me looking serious/upset.
And thank you.. o.o I've never been told my face looks chewy nor soft, haha. Ironically enough, my IG jas "marshmallow" in the name. xD
Thank you, though!

mark: - Derpy indeed, haha.

Aww! really cute.

CloudDreamer 11-20-2014 03:03 PM

I had to go out in the crazy wind earlier this week, and I realized after taking this pic, that the lights around where I live make my hair look crazy red at night. :P

jellysundae 11-20-2014 08:00 PM

Ghetto? xD How come ><

That's a great costume Neph, flatters you, have you lost more weight? Cons look fun!

Nephila 11-20-2014 10:48 PM

It's was super fun! I'm at about the same since I last updated my journal. It helps that my bf is a good deal taller to get a more flattering angle than my other dress selfies.

So many amazing costumes my eyes didn't know where to look first. (which is why I always go for more than one day) plus lots of cool stuff to look at.

Some Awesome original Cosplays I saw:

Lady Vasha (sp?) from Dr.Who, Robo Cop, Pinky and the brain, Lots of random furrys with Bucky O'Hare. An amazing Sailor Moon group( I was surprised there was only 1 Scout group with the recent reboot), Andrea from Reboot, A Blood Elf Paladin and Demon hunter from Blizzard Games, deathbird and the villains puppet from saw including tricycle.

Then there was the not so original ones... the Elsa/Anna Army, The Guardians of the everywhere, Legion of Lea's, "Lolita" Tardis(s), Various Doctors and X-men characters and whole a biker gang worth of Harley's. Also with the date of this event there were many Catrina's.

That was my back up costume. The one I had made for this year was Battle Padame BEFORE her top got the arm and belly ripped perfectly. Mother nature said no white that weekend :(

The boots took the longest and were annoying to wait on the drying between layers... and I have no good picture of it yet T.T

Suona 11-21-2014 12:04 PM

You look amazing in both of them, Nephy
I think you just have a great figure, either way. Those costumes are very flattering on you.

Roxxxy 11-21-2014 11:22 PM

Holy T&A, Neph!
You're hot! [oops]

steelmagghia 11-21-2014 11:56 PM

Damnit I wish I had the patience to cosplay! It looks so FUN!

Vanora 11-22-2014 03:30 AM

I'm too poor to cosplay, aha. It can be a pricy hobby sometimes. ;;

Believe it or not, you can actually throw something together using stuff you have available. Heck, my first real cosplay was a closet cosplay, and it only cost me about $15 for a hat and a coat. The rest of it I already had.

I still wear that particular cosplay from time to time, BTW.

Nephila 11-22-2014 07:22 AM

Thanks guys. And Onsenmark is right you can start out very simple and inexpensive and build up your "Wardrobe".

My boots for Padame were about $12 including the "slip covers" I made for them.
The "silver" armbands were like $3 bucks made out of the same foam I made the slip covers out of.
The Cape is a lovingly washed thrift store find of a whole $6.
The belt was a whole $10 (because of the leather purse I chopped up for the pouches.)
$7 for the top and pants I altered.
Altogether $38
Bonus PLUS! The blanket is nice for snuggling and the boots I have in mind to reuse (without the slipcovers) For an April O'Neil Cosplay. :D

-giggles- I was gonna comment on that too! Neph should model for all the anime artists who draw those poor broken-backed girls to get the obligatory T&A in every single picture. xD
