Yeah, I'm supposed to be applying for internships, but I need one with housing and pay, because they're all far away, and I have student loans to pay. :( my boyfriend was just hounding me this morning about actually applying to some, since I get scared and don't end up applying. :x I was waiting for a reference that just hasn't gotten back to me, though. It's all so stressful. In the meantime I have to work a shitty job because it's the only place in the area that will give me enough hours to actually make some money. :/

Exactly. And they always lecture and give their opinion and give you suggestions. It's like, "I honestly don't want to hear it from you. I'm obviously trying and your nagging just stresses me out more." I hate talking about my life with family. Maybe once I have a real job that I want it will be better. Then when you want to talk about your life no one wants to listen, though. [lol]

Oh yes the joys of student loans... I'm with you on that [lol]
Luckily mine was through a trade school so I should hopefully be able to pay it back off if every dime I make goes to it for 6 months...

My first job, thats exactly what I did. I called them EVERY day! I KNOW i pissed off the office chick, and I'd get the same answer every time. I'd call at the same time every day too so she'd expect it lol! I figured she'd be so pissed I was calling she'd make the interviewer give me a shot just so I'd stop annoying her.

Worked!

I had that job for 8years!


That said, probably not a good idea to do that for a job where interpersonal skills are a big part of the criteria. But definitely call them up at least once a week and ask how the progress is going with the selection process.
