yeah I never got those people that rushed threw content like that...I mean I guess having the world first would be cool but I don't think it would be worth the torture on your body. Then again I did manage to get a world first in mining one xpack. It was strange because I didn't know about it before deciding to level only using mining and arch (yeah I'm strange like that)

Well they have an achievement for realms first ninty, so it probably a day--day in a half of hardcore grinding.

I'm kind of curious about the if there will be one more patch or two more patches. I'm sure that the grind from 95 - 100 will be a monster of a challenge, but I'm sure there will be hardcore grinders that will do it in a day or they'll hack their way to 100. While the game itself is interesting I have already dedicated myself to Maplestory. I promised the next MMO I play will have a Bard class.

There's more than patches, there are going to be more expansions (i.e, Burning Crusade-->Wrath of the Lich King-->Cataclysm-->and atm Mists of Pandaria)

No, I meant expansions, sorry if about my categorizing lol
I know about those. I just like hearing about it more than anything. I wonder if there will be anymore new classes. My friend has rift and I made a bard on his account and bards are pretty cool on rift.

XxA_Wistful_InsanityxX 12-19-2012 06:04 PM

I have rift, but it bored me to death. Depending on when blizzard decides to release a new expansion, which at this point they probably won't for a good while (could be months, could be years). I'm thinking there's still a lot to be done. Aggra just had Thrall's kid, Thrall and the rest of the Horde leader's are turning against the Hellscream. So, there's a bunch going on via the Horde side. I can't really tell you what's happening on the Alliance side, as I don't have a level 90--just a pain in the butt 85. Honestly just hearing about a game is nothing compared to playing it, give it a whirl. It should still be $5 for Vanilla up to Lich King and you won't have to buy time because it comes with 30 days of game time. Trust me, bard's aren't everything. :P

JediMercJeff 12-20-2012 12:28 PM

I just got my first 90 (it was on Horde side, don't judge!), and I'm already dreading the daily grind to get myself and my wifey flying in Pandaria and dungeon-ready and all.

That being said, I think Pandaria is probably the best expansion I've seen in WoW thusfar. I was hugely skeptical about them adding "freaking pandas" to the game, but they actually did it very well. Engaging storyline, amazing new continent... Course, as a hunter, I was extremely jazzed about the "Hunter's Challenge" pets in Pandaria, and how those were done.

So I give my kudos (and my continued monthly subscription fee) to Blizzard for an excellent product, and hope they keep it up for future expansions.

Well it all sounds interesting, but my main game is Maplestory, I need to get my first level 200 character, I got an ice/lightning arch mage at 157 right now... I need to accomplish anything if I decide to play another MMO which will most likely be lord of the rings online. If 85-90 was a pain, I bet 90 - 95 when the next expansion comes will really be a huge pain. I may give elder scrolls a shot once it pops up online for a little bit.

Yea, I mainly stick to free MMOs for the most part.

JediMercJeff 12-20-2012 04:59 PM

@Kole: If you like space stuff, Star Trek Online is free and very lightly restricted compared to other "major" free titles. I'm a Lifer there, but love how they're doing their F2P system. :)

But anyway, to pull this back on-topic...

Any Hunters like myself out there?

I used to play the free ones, but I don't like how most of them are set up for little kids. I want something that doesn't require facebook, hell I don't even want to play another game. I've got Diablo III and WoW, I'm good.

Kole_Locke 12-21-2012 01:54 AM

I actually quit buying games just because I have so many... I kept seeing games I wanted and kept buying them until eventually I got to the point where I kept starting games and never finished them because I kept buying new ones and so now I just have quit buying any games period too.

I spend more time now playing piano and fanfiction writing... and sometimes I play Maplestory, Skyrim or Final Fantasy Thirteen when it comes to offline games with consoles lol.

JediMercJeff 12-21-2012 02:44 AM

@Kole: Oof... Yeah, I heard ya there. I have so many games I still haven't played that I've had for years (including both Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic games). I am a sad animal, but thankfully there aren't any games I want right now.

Except Halo 4.

And Madden 13.

And... Oh crap, I'm hopeless.

The only games coming out are Dragon Quest Ten and Seven which won't hit the US shores for quite some time. It's ok to like games, just think, when we hit retirement --hopefully there will be some respite for us when we become the old folk--- we will have a wealth of games to enjoy!

Never thought about it like that!

Though I wonder if WoW will still be around...

Nephila 12-22-2012 07:25 PM

It might be, after all everquest is still around.

Kole_Locke 12-22-2012 10:19 PM

You never know about games these days and I remember playing Everquest, it was amazing and I'm surprised it still exists. So who knows about World of Warcraft-- it could very well still be around as there are new people discovering it daily. Who knows by then maybe they will break down and add bards to the game.

JediMercJeff 12-23-2012 12:47 AM

Games like EQ and WoW are still around, but CoH / CoV gets shuttered. >.<

Kole_Locke 12-23-2012 01:00 AM

It's kind of cool actually to see that these games have longevity...lol

JediMercJeff 12-23-2012 01:09 AM

WoW's been amazingly long-lived. Starting to get long in the tooth graphically, but they're doing amazing things with what they can.

Arkkath 12-23-2012 06:32 AM

While WoW is a bit behind in terms of graphics, it makes up for it in sheer gameplay quality and content.
I'm tried many other MMO's and none of them do it as well as WoW does. They focus too much on shiny new graphics and then the gameplay suffers.

For one, it would take a gigantic effort to update WoW's graphics to be on par with the games of today. They would literally have to rebuild everything in game with the new engine. That's just not going to happen.
Another reason Bliz doesn't update the engine to that degree is that they still want the game to be playable of lower end computers without looking absolutely terrible.

Warcraft has also always been a bit on the cartoony side, so it would be weird to have more realistic graphics.

JediMercJeff 12-23-2012 04:12 PM

Oh I'm not disagreeing at all, but I will make the point that other companies have sunsetted games for being graphically inferior, while having good content in place and planned.

Granted, they probably didn't have WoW's subscriber base, and the lower graphical quality does make it possible to play on pretty much any computer in existence (waiting on the tablet client now! Heh).

But I still play WoW, so I can't say too much about being attracted to the "Oooooh shiny!" of new graphics all the time. ;)

Nephila 12-23-2012 07:26 PM

I'm thinking of buying a Fire kitten for my bf and I for the hurricane relief fund. I don't know if he'll like it though...kinda girly. XD Oh well I'm going to try it anyway.

Kole_Locke 12-23-2012 11:00 PM

I actually prefer cartoony graphics personally.

Nephila 12-23-2012 11:11 PM

Your not the only one. I don't know why it's just sort of charming. A lot of the "realistic" graphics are ruined because they look to stiff with no emotion.

Kole_Locke 12-23-2012 11:16 PM

I think that's why I like Maplestory so much even though I kind of would like to see a non chibi-style anime game like Maplestory.

Nephila 12-23-2012 11:22 PM

That would be fun. I used to play Maplestory a long time ago.
