The last book is not really all it was creaked up to be. There wasn't really any action in it and that made it suck (Excuse the pun) but it did. The best book was twilight and then the series went downhill from there.

MurasakiCrown 01-04-2009 05:23 PM

This thread shall be full of puns today >w>

Haha, yeah I noticed. I want to finish the story, though (from Bella's point of view, anyway). I've already read some spoilers by accident, but not enough to make me stop at the third book XD

What's this about someone getting fired? Please, fill me in.

INFIDEL. *murders*

And there's rumors that Taylor Lautner (Jake) might get fired. Dunno why. And the director from the first movie (Katherine Hardwicke) has already been fired and replaced.

MurasakiCrown 01-04-2009 05:51 PM

Can't say I don't see why she was fired. The reactions I've seen from people are polar opposite, but mostly, I just heard it was bad.
But seeing as how I haven't seen the movie, I wouldn't know why Jake would be fired..?

Haha, I've been making bad puns today. >_>

Cherry Who? 01-04-2009 05:58 PM

She made Twilight the same as the book, which, from what I gather from an interview with Stephenie, was not what was originally going to happen (something about night vision goggles and skiing? D:). Buuuut, really what the main problem was is that she made the movie be a typical movie length (about two hours?) and all of the story just couldn't fit. So the beginning half, with Edward and Bella's relationship building up, was incredibly rushed. So the love felt fake and chemistryless. I mean, they saw each other like, twice before suddenly being all "omg were so close i think ilu"

And Jake did nothing wrong. Jake was Jake. Jake was perfect. ;-;

MurasakiCrown 01-04-2009 06:08 PM

Oh. DX I heard about the relationship part. People keep telling me, "have you watched it?" after they know I've read it, and I keep saying "no" because I fear disappointment.

:lol: Vampire romance has been around longer than Gaia has existed let alone started to suck.
Speaking from the viewpoint of someone who loves the idea of vampires (who, by the way, didn't hop on the Twilight bandwagon until {when was it, Cherry? August?} I think August) I take offense at that comment. :/ I've loved vampires since I first saw Interview with the Vampire when I was like, six, I believe.
This doesn't mean I'd make out with a dead body. :sarcasm: So just because I love vampires -cough-Lestat-coughcough- doesn't make me a closet necro. XD
I just find beauty and immortality very attractive. So sue me. =3

I finished Eclipse!
I still love Alice, I still sometimes want to shoot Jacob in the face, and I still want to slap Edward for going on his guilt trips. And lets not forget Bella and HER issues 8'D

I need the last book! I can still afford it!! o.e

I KNOW. D: You can't just go off and chop your hair when you are a highly popular book character in real human form. ><

I know, you just want to kill them all sometimes, don't you? :3

Same here.

MurasakiCrown 01-04-2009 06:53 PM

Kitami:.Ugh. Totally. It's like they ruin the image of the character in our heads! As if making a character out of a real life person wasn't hard enough D8;

Maybe I'll watch Twilight if I can find a cheap way to do it. Since Edward doesn't really look like the Edward in my head... At least Dan makes a good Harry, Emma a good Hermione, Etc. Many of the characters in Harry Potter fit quite well, but I don't get that feeling from Twilight. Bella screams "NOT BELLA" at me D8

In April 2004, Paramount's MTV Films optioned Twilight, but then developed a script that bore little resemblance to it. (It featured night-vision goggles and transformed Bella into a hip track star.) ''They could have put that movie out, called it something else, and no one would have known it was Twilight,'' Meyer says.

I remembered incorrectly with the skiing bit.

Oh, and also from that article...

Pattinson flew to meet with Hardwicke at her home in Venice, Calif. His audition consisted of a love scene with Stewart on Hardwicke's bed.
That did not come out the way they wanted it to, I think. xDDD

MurasakiCrown 01-04-2009 07:31 PM

Oh, yikes. I'm sure it didn't XD

Bella a track star? D8;

*snortgiggle*

Rpattz cutting his hair was a mistake. It was the only thing interesting about him. :stare:

And from what I can gather from ontd, they want to replace Jacob cuz the kid playing him in Twilight doesn't fit the whole "omgz strong werewolf" image.

Cherry Who? 01-04-2009 10:11 PM

But he fits the "omgz cute jakey" image. ;-;

`Kitami 01-04-2009 11:22 PM

Plat:: I don't think these people, when they take on these rolls, realize who they have set themselves up as though. >_>
You have just become this much-loved character made real. D: And I'm not just talking from a fan-girl standpoint, because Edward isn't even my favorite character. XD
Its like Cherry and I were talking about earlier, when Stewart smokes pot, she needs to watch herself. xD She is Bella now. There are teenage girls and younger, and older, who love Bella. And when they are impressionable...especially the young ones, if "Bella" is smoking, then they should smoke because they want to be like "Bella". Which is a funny frame of mind, but if you are an impressionable person, its just another kind of peer-pressure, I suppose...

Yes, that was at least one thing about the Harry Potter movies that I really enjoyed. o:
Unlike Eragon, or seemingly Twilight, the actors really feel and have always felt like they fit the characters. :drool: @ Rupert Grint
>_>;;

Cherry:: Bella, a track star?? Eww. D:

-snort- XD Will that be used for the Twilight Gone Wild film later on? :rofl:

MurasakiCrown 01-05-2009 01:03 AM

ARGH ERAGON. The only two characters I liked were Brom and Saphira, despite the fact that her wings were wrong >w> ;;

Where were the elves? The dwarves? The huge gem that is still important in the 2nd and 3rd books?? DX *cough* anyway.

I totally agree. Those kinds of people become role models, and they need to act like it. I mean, it's not just like actually demonstrating a concern for one's own health is something only a celebrity is expected to do. Granted, they're more visible to the world, but still!

Stormy1 01-05-2009 01:15 AM

Yeah I heard about replacing Jakes actor too and having Ben Barns (Prince Caspian) play him instead, but my friend told me about it today on the way to see a movie so weather or not its true I don't know..

Cherry Who? 01-05-2009 03:15 AM

Ben Barnes?
...
But...
But... HE'S WHITE. WTF. Jake = indian. Indian = white.
I swear, if they do that, I'm boycotting. >:

Stormy1 01-05-2009 03:27 AM

Yeah I know! But its just speculation...If they do cast them maybe, I don't know, give him a really really bad spray tan. XD

Fabby 01-05-2009 01:19 PM

But I like Taylor! They can't replace him! He's one of the few casting decisions I agree with, and he's a cutie.

YES, I HATED ROB'S HAIR, AND I AM GLAD HE HACKED IT OFF. GET OVER IT.

Bella as a track star...? Even though she's supposedly clumsy as shit...?

Srsly. D: He's very Jakeish. But apparently other people don't think so...

YOU = ANTICHRIST. OLD RPATTZ HAIR = AMAZING.

Yeah, I'd guess that that person was raping the book completely. There are movies like that. Where they pick a lesser known (Twilight was at the time) book and then just completely change it.
I mean, has anyone actually READ Princess Diaries? Not so kiddie-friendly like the movies... xD The movies barely follow the plot of the book. Moreso just the general idea behind it.

Stormy1 01-05-2009 09:38 PM

Lmao @ photo.

Yeah, even though I love the Princess Diaries Movies, they are nothing like the books at all. If they did Twilight like that people might try to kill them XD

MurasakiCrown 01-05-2009 10:03 PM

*gets killed by the image Cherry posted*
Someone get a vampire. It's the only way to save me now.

Cherry Who? 01-05-2009 10:17 PM

Stormy - Yeah, I think we may be the only people who even bothered to read the books. xDD

Plat - Vampire, coming up.

I want a lolita outfit. ;_; *hides from the non-fangs*
ARGH. I want to read breaking dawn ;_;
I finished Eclipse so now I hate hate hate Jacob. Hate. He was so .. bad. D8

Cherry Who? 01-05-2009 10:35 PM

Yep. Eclipse kind of makes you pissed at him.
But don't worry, Breaking Dawn makes you loooooooooooove him more than ever before
.

MurasakiCrown 01-06-2009 12:23 AM
