Rock > any other genre of music (especially rap)
i love rock, dark rock, black rock, heavy metal, regular metal, punk, pop punk, goth, classic rock.......*goes on and on*
dance is just pointless synthetic music mc is random babblings in dance music, rap is all just songs about *puts on 'homie' voice* pimps and homies, dog. classic music ill accept |
Finally, someone who agrees with me! ^___^
Some think Im weird when I tell them that I hate Rap and R&B. They look at me as if to say "omgwtf@her".. But yeah, Rock > Everything else 8) |
Rock is generally what I lean towards for listening.
I like dance... when I feel like dancing ^^; Rap has little to know meaning behind it save for a few songs, which I like purely for the lyrics. Classical music is good for when you want to just sit and relax (with little thinking). |
Is there an option for "anything that sounds good"?
Besides the fact that there's already a thread on genres, I don't think it's really fair to generalize. Generally, I prefer rock and alternative to much else, but at the same time, that doesn't mean that it's automatically better just because I prefer it. Rap isn't really music, but that doesn't mean that it's bad. It's poetry when it's good, with a beat set to it. Rock comes from R&B, and Soul, and Funk, and Blues, and yes, even Country, when it comes down to it. So rock isn't > than every other genre. Rock = every other genre. |
rock is awesome. dance is awesome. mc isn't a genre. rap is awesome.
I hate it when people say they hate a whole genre. that's so stupid. there's good songs of every genre. /: rap isn't just about homies and pimps and stuff like that. there's also underground rap like MF Doom and MC Paul Barman. their music isn't about any of that stuff at all. |
Thank you Poet, for saying what I am too sick to properly type. I'm like you in that I prefer rock, but that by no means makes it better.
Oh and Legacy? What do you consider goth music? |
Just good old classic rock...Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Van Halen, The Doors, The Who, Blue Oyster Cult, Boston, The Rolling Stones, Cream...I also like The Clash on the punker side, The Ramones are growing on me...
Not a big metal or goth fan...I can get down to Seether and maybe two songs by Metallica...metal just hurts my ears for the most part though... Nah...I miss the old stuff. Guitar riffs. Real lyrics. It's hard to find that anymore. |
Hmm...
Well, when you can tell me one single band from Goth, "Dark Rock" which is a non-existent music genre, Black Rock which another non-existent music genre and give reasons why you think Dance music (Which isn't a music genre of itself either) then I will understand why you think "rock" is the best genre. So for now... Fail troll is fail. |
Not to mention that you obviously have no idea when you're talking about when it comes to Rap. All you know is the MTV deprived bullshit that they play on the radio. That is not what real Rap or Hip Hop is. Learn your music before you rant, buddy.
|
I can't say I like rap, in the slightest. But, as a muscian myself I don't believe in bashing music, and I don't think people who are bound to one style of music will ever get very far in music. Unless they want to sound all the same. I think listening to a large range of music is good.
I enjoy anything from classical, opera to metalcore and blackmetal. |

ITT: Generalizations and thread necroing.
Singling music out based on genre is a pretty shitty thing to do. |
I pretty much live for thread necroing. ;)
|
@St_JimmyHavok ~ But be careful about which threads you necro. Unlike Media, in many of the forums it's against the rules and can result in a warning. So take caution. ;)
|
Ugh, yeah. Especially 'thems fighting words' threads. :/
|
Oops. Sorry Captain.
