  • mmm that sounds nice. I visited Hawaii for a week. Although it wasn't as awesome as I had hoped because I was stuck with my father, sister, and grandfather the whole time. Then my sister got sick, and we didn't go snorkeling or hiking. It would be wonderful to visit for a month or more. A week definately isn't long enough.

    I live in San Diego! another popular tourist attraction. xD

  • Yeah. =/ and we stayed on the naval base in Oahu (I think). At least I didn't stay in a touristy-hotel! Even though I was a tourist, at the time, I still hate tourists. I dislike going to the beach and seeing 500 people packed into one spot when there are miles and miles of empty beach right next to them.

    All we really did while we were there was visit the Polynesian Culture Center, go on a submarine ride, visit Pearl Harbor, and visit a few pretty beaches. We spent the rest of the time on a private beach on the naval base. That part was nice. But no hiking, and no wilderness, and no snorkeling =(

    I love how everywhere sells rice too. I was a vegetarian when I went, and I could go to McDonald's and get rice!

Gotta love sticky rice. Don't have a clue as how you mainland people can live without sticky rice.

  • I couldn't live without rice, That's for darn sure! For a couple of reasons:

    1. Rice is food. Food is good.
    2. I am poor. Rice is cheap.
    3. Rice is super easy to cook
    4. Rice is pretty much better than sliced bread.
    5. Rice can be made into sushi rice!

    1 - 3 times a week we make a giant bowl of sticky sushi rice, and (sort of) make sushi. Except we cheat and use pre-cut strips of nori, and just blob rice on it and eat it. mmmm!

Rice is eaten with almost every meal here, unless it's like pasta or fast food which doesn't go with rice. xD

  • We eat eat rice with every proper meal we make. But that doesn't happen too often. We all just eat whenever.

    The strangest thing...whenever I would go over to my boyfriends house, they would have dinner, and it was always a family/group thing. Where everyone ate at the same time, there were courses and everything! Usually it was rice, chicken, salad, corn mash stuff, and a few shrimp.

    I grew up where all meals were "fend for yourself"

ah my meals depend on my mom's mood. If she's tired, it's fend for yourself. If she's not then she'll make us all dinner.

lol...someone else is reading AS? Yay! I thought that was the one we were posting more out of our butts! I'm enjoying it, but it does seem convoluted at times (my fault...*grins*)
