I think it's the folding and putting away that I dislike the most- usually when I do laundry I hang out in the basement so I can hear the washer and dryer stop and move stuff right away - but sometimes I have other things to do and I forget about it and leave it for days - and then I have to re-wash the stuff.

I ended up taking out all the work stuff and hanging it up so it can finish drying that way and let the rest of the stuff run. I'll have to try and remember it is in the dryer when I get home form work so I can put it away.

Count your blessings Si, my dryer hasn't worked for 2 years :( so i have to iron everything, then i hang it on the airer to finish drying.

Roo sounds like you're going to have a great time in Vegas, just hope it isn't too hot for you. but if you'll end up doing as much walking as Kat says it will be a healthy break anyway!

Take some photos so we can all take a peek at the glitz 8)

I will hopefully remember to get a disposable camera. My digital only has a very small memory card that came with it so I think it only holds 8 photos or so.

I hate laundry as well and do not iron whatsoever. I think that the folding and hanging is what gets me. If that wasn't in the mix, I wouldn't mind it.

jellysundae 07-17-2007 01:40 PM

Yeah, i had to get a seperate card with my camera, as it only held 6 pictures on the highest pixel setting  luckily the memory card was in with the package though so i got a good deal.

siaasgn 07-17-2007 02:29 PM

I know when I bought my digital camera I was able to find a 2g memory card at Radio Shack for about $30 - it's great. I can hold a couple hundred pictures and videos. :) If I use the card built into the camera I get 6 pictures.

Ironing?! What's that? I just wet a dryer sheet and throw the wrinkly stuff back in the dryer for a little while or hang them in the bathroom while I take a nice hot shower and let the steam work magic. Granted, this doesn't always work but I'm terrible at ironing. I'm always afraid I am going to burn my clothes because I have the attention span of a fly.

Rue, I wonder if you can get a bigger memory card for it. I bought a 2G one for mine before we left for New York at Walgreens for like $30 or so.

jellysundae 07-17-2007 03:37 PM

i did love that when i had a dryer if i timed it just right stuff came out wrinkle free.
plus i had an added attraction with mine.
Where i had the hose out of the window, my dryer is in my dining room cos i'm dead classy like! i could shake the hose and shower the people walking beneath my window with fluff http://i19.tinypic.com/4ptgjkp.gif
Why is dryer fluff always blue??? i wish i know what was wrong with mine actually, if i tried it now it would seem fine, turn it on, drum turns, heat comes out of the holes..but as soon as you turn your back the drum stops, so it bakes part of the garments and leaves the rest soaking wet, in an interesting cow hide type pattern

but i figure it's saving me money not using it, plus if i iron stuff as it comes out of the washer i don't need any of that water to go in the iron either, i've bought the scented ironing water you can get since i've had this iron, because tap water around here is really hard, and even if i filter it first it still scaled the iron up.
Isn't laundry a pain? You can see why the Victorians used to have servants to do it

 Here I am sitting at work messing around online because it's always quiet in the summer and my boss left really early today - and I look over at the clock and realize I should of left 15 minutes ago!!

Now I get to go home and do more laundry - fun fun.

jellysundae 07-17-2007 09:18 PM

What fun!!

Will you get 15 minutes overtime?

siaasgn 07-17-2007 10:28 PM

:( nope - i came in late today so I figure it all washes out in the end. ;)

Holy .. . I was just watching some tour de France video and apparently a dog wandered onto the course and one of the cyclists hit it - the dog an cyclist seemed fin but I watched th font bike tire completely crumple . . .that sucks!!!

jellysundae 07-17-2007 11:11 PM

 lucky it didn't cause a huge pile up!

siaasgn 07-17-2007 11:31 PM

seriously - I know towards the beginning there was a 20 rider crash in something like the last 3 kilometers of the race for that day - it was absolutely crazy to watch!

jellysundae 07-17-2007 11:37 PM

I can imagine, i expect they take some untangling afterwards too!

siaasgn 07-17-2007 11:38 PM

I just keep thinking about the ruined bikes - their bikes have to be at least 5-10 thousand each - and I'm sure a crash like that destroys them.

jellysundae 07-17-2007 11:46 PM

Horrible thought isn't it? i hope the person who hit the dog didn't sue the owner for the price of a new wheel..

siaasgn 07-17-2007 11:57 PM

seriously - that would be horrible.

I know one time my boyfriend was riding his bike into work and some stupid idiot stepped out in front of him from between 2 cars - my boyfriend his the guy at about 35 miles per hour (it was a big downhill) and the guy offered to pay for the damages to his bike. When my boyfriend came back and told him it was $800 that guy refused - he had to fix his wheel (the set of rims are $800 alone for his racing bike) and his fork was cracked so he had ro replace it with a new carbon fiber fork.

I think people don't realize how much a good bike can cost - I know I bought a 1/2 decent one for $1000 and my boyfriend's racer was bought used for $2000.

I don't think the racer will try to sue the dog owner in this case because he is part of a team and the team will pay for the bike ad replacement parts.

EternalHearts 07-18-2007 02:14 AM

That poor dog! I hope everyone stays okay, sometimes injuries dont' appear until later.

As for laundry, I did mine two weeks ago and STILL have a ton of it lying on my floor waiting to be ironed/folded (whichever the case may be) and put away. I'm SO lazy when it comes to that stuff, I really need to make laundry as obsessive a compulsion as everything else in my life.

siaasgn 07-18-2007 01:01 PM

I'm not sure - but I think I heard that the dog was not doing well - I guess it makes sense - that much concentrated force in a tiny narrow spot - probably some internal bleeding - but on the news last night they didn't say either way what happened to the dog.

I feel bad for the dog - and angry with the owners for being careless with it. They had to know what kind of trouble it could cause if it got onto the course - and it did. Luckily only 1 rider went down and hit it - things could of been much much worse.

It's just what the front page says. We are a group of people that originally started on neopets on a guild there called The Purkle Couch. We are one big happy family.
