Sia, your tattoo is so cute! And perfect for a library science major! ^_^ Make sure you share the colored version too!
|
Well Chi, you are certainly well spoken here so I feel you are going to do well in this class.
|
Good for you Chi @ sticking it out in that class. You have more patience than I do--you are blessed to have a great group to work with that have the same feelings about the issues that you do.
Sia, that is going to be a great tat! Can't wait to see the progression. |
Eternal, go check your trades!
Juru, how fun to see you, Fizi, and Sia entering the world of round robin! They're so much fun to do! I'm going to a free mystery writing lesson today at Barnes and Noble with my best friend. Should be a lot of fun! I don't normally write mystery, but hey! I'm game to try! |
Well, I haven't asked Sia yet...hopefully she'll do it *pokes Sia* but we've been trying to do something whether it be RP or story or something for a while. I am actually thinking about letting the pirate thing go but I haven't decided yet.
A free mystery writing lesson sounds fun! I myself have to actually force myself to drive in to our building for work and load some software on this machine. It's so far and I don't want to go, lol. |
Everyone is so very quiet... :(
|
Letting it go Juru? Well I will wait then to see what you decide before I think on a character then.
|
If people want to play I will keep it going. Unfortunately we are back to only having three people.
*waves to Chi* Hi Chi!! |
I'm sorry! I've been so flaky with that, Juru! I keep saying I'm going to read it and make a character and I keep getting sidetracked. >_<
The writing lesson thing was fun! It turned out to be a lecture by this author named Don Webb and he said some really great things, especially about character development and about the middle of people's stories usually going stale because of loss of excitement that they otherwise have at the beginning and end, and how it's not the plot that sells, but rather the sentences, the way it's written, and how it flows. I took a lot of notes and am going to try to apply some things he said as I'm working on my novel rewrite. I wonder if I should use Nanowrimo this year as a time to work on part 2 of my story? I'd at least get it out of my head and onto the computer. There'd be plenty of time for editing later. |
*waves to Juru*
How's everyone doing? >w< |
No worries Aliena :) I know how that goes. I'm glad that the workshop was interesting. I have no idea what Namowrimo is.
I'm good Chi, how are you today? |
Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month. It's November each year and you have 30 days to write 50,000 words. I've done it twice and one of those times was where my novel, Vionelle, was born. Of course, since you're writing so much in such a little time, it doesn't always come out like a masterpiece, but like I said before, it's great for getting your idea out of your head and actually typed out and then you can go back and add to it and edit it later. I haven't done it in a few years, but I just might this year. I'm trying to convince my bf to do it too - she's got such a neat little story idea and is just lacking the confidence to go ahead and write it.
|
@Juru
I'm quite well. :3 How about you? @Aliena I've thought about the Nanowrimo for years, but I've just never done it. Maybe next year, when I (hopefully) won't have such a big class load. x.x |
Oh that does sound like fun. I've never considered writing a novel or anything like that because I've always felt that my writing was never good enough. Role playing and whatnot on the various sites has improved it but I still have a long ways to go. Maybe I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
Chi: I'm good. Today has been rather uneventful honestly. The most I've done is drive to the office for some software and drive home. |
Did you drive a bus? XD
|
LMAO! No... just a tan Mazda Protege
The kids are pestering me to go to Blockbuster. Ugh. *whine* I don't want to go! Is there any good movies out? |
I just asked my fiance, and he's lost. xD
Hm... I'm trying to think, and failing horribly on the movie thing! |
Yea, I didn't find anything good to watch. Rows and rows of movies and nothing to watch. How sad is that?! We ended up renting some video games and that was it... and not even good games...lame kid games. Ugh... I need an XBox 360 or a Wii dammit!
|
I will say with no qualms that the Wii was a purchase I didn't have the money to make this year but did it anyway. I don't regret it one bit. I'm usually very good with my money, but this was a "Eh, screw it, I'm getting it anyway!" purchase.
It's a lovely machine, though... honestly, they need to make more games for it. |
I went to the movies on Friday night and saw 3:10 to Yuma. It was much better than I thought it would be. I only went because my boyfriend wanted to go see it.
|
I've not heard of that one.
We watched the new Halloween movie yesterday, and I was highly disappointed. :( |
I don't think I've heard of that movie. I'll have to go check out the trailer. Of course, me being the Predator fan that I am, am completely stoked about the new movie coming out in December. Blood, guts, and acid!! Tee hehehehe! I like a lot of Sci-Fi actually. There is a dragon movie that my daughter wants to see but I don't know the name of it (not Eragon). The poster looked cool though.
I want to play Halo 3!! The good thing... I got a $250 gift card through work so I may just break down and buy the 360. I also like the new iPods out so it's a tough call for me. Edit: The original scared me to death. My uncle thought it would be funny to dress in a sheet with glass on and scare my aunt. Not cool. |
It takes a lot to scare me. The remake was basically the same thing, but with added plot. A lot of added plot, actually.
But, unfortunately, every other word was either "fuck" or "pussy". I am not one who has a golden mouth of purity, but it's pretty bad when you get turned off from the massive amounts of swearing instead of just enjoying the movie. Maybe I'm getting old. Juru, if you get a 360, let me know how it is. I doubt we'll get a gaming system anytime soon, but it's always good to know! X3 |
I'm no golden mouth of purity either, especially if I am really upset but I think in a movie there should be some sort of limit. Granted, if someone was trying to kill me I'd be saying the f word ALOT while I was running but when it is so much that it ruins the movie, yea... that's bad.
I want a new gaming system but honestly I am a little hesitant because the kids will fight over it. Maybe I'll just set it up in here with me and lock the door, lol  |
I had never heard of it either until we looked at the list of movies playing but it wasn't bad.
I agree Chi, my potty mouth sometimes is out of hand but I will get turned off by every other word being something nasty. I don't see why that's necessary. |
