That's why I left Zantarni. I can't be in all these places. It's just too much.
|
Jaz congrats on your pregnancy! ^_^
My daughter turns 2 in a week and I am having the toughest time dealing with the "I don't want to leave's" that she does. I'm trying the distraction method, but that doesn't always work. Anyhow, just wanted to drop in and say hi. That's been my biggest stress lately. ^_^ And Chi, that is wonderful news!! |
Aliena, did you see my post in the parenting thread about saying "You have 10 more minute and then we're going to leave." and "5 more minutes and then we're leaving, ok?" and giving them time to prepare for leaving time? It might not work at first and she still might throw a fit and ask for more minutes, but eventually she'll get used to the routine and be prepared for time to leave. It worked with my daughter and my sister's daughter (who still sometimes cries when Jade leaves, but she feels better if she gets to stand outside and watch us leave and wave.)
|
Thanks Aliena!
When I think back to Kellen, he usually didn't pitch a fit when we had to leave somewhere. Oh waaait. The grocery store. That used to be horrible. I took him in once and then swore if he ever threw a fit again like that he'd never go again. That was when he was two/three though; he's fine there now. Was dandy yesterday... even offered to give me a dollar to buy him a magazine. You know, I'm not entirely sure why I'm the one he usually listens to. It goes back to before he could talk. He used to throw tantrums when he had to have medicine. I remember standing over him with the Motrin bottle saying, "I know what you did this morning to your mother and aunt. >.> If you do it to me, you're going to be a sorry little boy." All a bluff, you surely realize, but he's still hesitant to walk the line with me. I'll be damned if he didn't suck that vial down with a smile that day. He plays it for all he's worth some days. I had to bring him to work with me on several occasions over the summer, and he tried to pull with me what he does with Mom. He'll be obnoxious in every possible form so she'll give in and just take him home (i.e. she can't concentrate on any work, and he'll have driven my grandmother batty by that point so SHE sends the pair of them home), and then he'll smirk in triumph. It didn't work with me. I dunno... I don't know if I'm a barbarian, or I'm just lucky enough that he doesn't dare tread the waters. ;_; It's not like I'd beat him or throw him into a wall. |
Ugh, this just hasn't been my year. Why can't I just have even a week where I don't have bad news. I'll explain more later when I know I won't mess up what I want to say or won't go into tears yet again.
|
I hope everything's going to be okay. We'll be here when you're ready. *huggles in advance*
|
Thanks Chi. Mostly I can't talk about it right now because it's too lengthy for me to type here at work. Maybe tonight I can talk a bit more.
I can say that I'm not going to be going on my Austrailia trip. |
Hmmm.... getting nauseated again I'd better go lay down again hopefully I don't start coughing up a lung again... See you all later!
|
I hope you feel better soon Jaz.
|
Oh no Rue!!! Let us know what all's going on when you're able to type it tonight!! *hugs*

and My husband just called to tell me that the garage says our car will be ready between wednesday and friday, which means we will have our car again! This weekend will be quite nice <3 I'm looking forward to it. |
That's exciting Mel - I'm sure you can't wait to actually put your house in order.
And Roo . . . http://premium.2.forumer.com/html/em...m/grouphug.gif We're here for you when you're able to let it all out. |
Ok here goes. As you guys know, my roommate and I have had some huge financial problems recently (mostly my fault) and we had to move. Well, a week before we moved, she lost her job and still doesn't have one. Rent is due in a week and I can't afford the entire amount. I don't know what we are going to do.
The mostly my fault part above is that about a month before I met my boyfriend, I had met another guy. He claimed he was a doctor and volunteering overseas and asked if he got his accountant to send me $$$, could I send it to his supplier to get supplies sent over to him. I didn't at the time see a problems with that. Well it turns out the Travelers Checks he sent me were fake and I lost my bank account over the whole thing. I have to pay the bank back for this and not sure how I will do it. I can't believe I was so stupid. Very embarassing more than anything now. I just have to make some sort of payment arrangements with the bank. This is the first time in 7 months that I have even said this to anyone and it feels good to actually let it out a bit. There is alot more to it but I won't go into further detail. I just can't believe I was so trusting and am kicking myself for it. I'm just glad the bank is willing to work with me with the little payments I can make. *sigh* I found out last night that my boyfriend lost his job as he got hurt again a couple weeks ago. So now he's also out of work but possibly has something in the works. So now the trip to Austrailia is off since he doesn't work there anymore. I'm ok with that and ok with him not working at that place anymore. Maybe now we can see more of each other. If he takes this new job, he will have 3 months training in another state. I will just have to cross that bridge when I come to it. |
Oh Rue... I'm so sorry to hear all of this.
I've heard about that scam before. Please don't be down on yourself and feel you're stupid. You're not. I'm not stupid, and I let myself be screwed over $1500 by some asshole reversing a PayPal claim. They even left me positive feedback on eBay saying how happy they were with the transaction, then they went straight to their credit card (NOT PayPal), and the credit card allowed the report to be filed as fraud. So I lost out. And it wasn't a good experience. I know how it burns. You just get so torn up inside wondering where the justice is, and how people can get away with what they get away with. And often times, unfortunately it makes us skeptical of all in the end. :( You've got us, if nothing else. *huggles* I hope the money problems clear as soon as possible. Is there any way you could get a temporary loan from a bank? I know that banks probably view a situation like this as "lolz, negative balance no halp!!1" but maybe someone will be willing to listen and make a special circumstance. Either way it's money you'd have to pay back, but it could get your rent issues temporarily solved. :[ Hang in there sweetie! |
Oh Roo - I'm so sorry that happened- try not to beat yourself up to much over it - it could happen to anyone. I know my friend almost had the same thing happen with a girl who was in Africa who was supposedly moving to NY and going to be her roommate - she sent my friend a bunch of travelers checks as down payment and rent - when my friend went to cash them the bank refused - her account was locked for a while - it was tough.
I hope things work out for you - money troubles are the worst - because you have to eat and you have to live . . . *hugs* a plenty. |
I'll get it figured out but now I can't do any donations to here or gaia for a long time. Don't know what I will do for Christmas but I'll figure it out. I just feel like I should have known better working for a lawfirm and all. I'm just too trusting. I actually almost didn't agree to meet my boyfriend because of it. He knows I'm having financial problems but doesn't know why. I just can't bring myself to tell him. As long as the bank (it's my old bank now, I opened a new checking account at another bank and closed that account so nothing else could be done to it) will work with payments, I will be ok.
|
It's still very disheartening. Do let us know if things ease up a bit for you. :[ We're here to listen after all, so please take advantage of it anytime.
|
I hate that the account that does the transfer gets screwed. even with bounced checks, as if you knew the check was going to bounce </3 I'm sorry that you have to go through this Roocee. I'm here for you too if you need someone to talk to. Though I don't have much of any experience in this area I'm still here to talk to.
The bank should work with you to set up a payment plan that is affordable to you. Most banks are curteous and don't like going through the paperwork of NOT helping people out. (besides, it will probably still get them interest no matter what happens which is all banks are after) So everything will work out. I know things look down right now but think on the positive side, and things will start to look up. ^^ |
Roo, don't blame yourself for trusting someone. People can't be blamed for some idiot being a jerk and taking advantage of nice people. -nod-
Not your fault. And may your boyfriend and roomie have excellent luck finding jobs. Flink knows how hard that is almost everywhere. x.x Chi(a), what's the thing about PayPal? o.O Flink feels like she needs details since she uses PayPal. Though, Flink's watching what she buys lately, since someone sold her credit card information (OH JOY!). She bought something from a game online, then apparently someone who does the stuff for the company at the bank(yes, the bank) sold the information of Flink and a BUNCH of other people. They haven't done anything with it since July, but Flink's watching just in case. |
That sucks you have to pay when they used fake travelers checks. I'm too trusting of people too, and I never would have suspected! I'm so sorry Rue. I hope things turn around, and that your new bf (I didn't know you were seeing someone!) gets another job soon!
|
I wonder something...
Let's say I accepted a traveler's check and it was a fraud (without me knowing of course). Could I take it to the bank and say something like, "so yeah, someone bought an auction item and paid via this, but I want to double-check that it's legit before I cash it", I wonder? There should be much more protection out there than what there is. It makes it so easy for others to screw people over. :( |
That's why people do it, since it's so easy. People who get scammed aren't idiots, Flink doesn't know why some people make them out to be.
They're just nice people and many of them don't know how the person who does the transaction gets screwed over. They think the person writing the check, or sending the traveler's check will pay, while they're the ones who do so. |
The bank will check the validity of the check if you ask them to, I had a friend do that who was going to have someone move in with them and pay rent for one of their rooms, but he didn't trust te check and so went to the bank and had them check to make sure it was real. But in all honesty, If it's people you trust and are friends with you don't think they are going to screw you over! It's just not how normal people work.
