I love them both. I'm sure I can think of something to wear both...lol.
|
Oh wow. Menewsha's new design is going to take some getting used to. I think I like it, though.
I'm home from the hospital. I'm quite unwell at the moment, so I'll probably just be lurk-like for a few days. Just thought I'd post a mini update. <3 |
Glad to hear you are home at least Chi. I posted a note for you in your charity thread.
|
Rest well Chi!!
Sorry I've not been around for several days. I've been too into subeta, and then Amber drags me away. The slippers are cute, although I prefer the pandas. |
I've come to realize I have been neglecting my purkle clan *huggles*
Things are busy and I'm glad that you are home Chi and that things seemed to have gone ok. fawN: you should stop by more often! Hope everyone is having a great weekend and all that :) |
YAY @ being home Chi. Take is easy and don't tax yourself too much.
So, the new layout...I'm not crazy about the vertical dashboard--Josh really should have made the icons horozontal, we don't need THAT much room for just the word "mail" or "inventory." Also, when you go to the forum page, the forum list is so far down, I don't see why it can't be in the right hand area like the forums themselves are. But then again, why am I complaining to all of you, I've already posted this in the announcement thread. Actually, I know why I'm complaining, it's becasue the hard drive in my laptop fried last ngiht and I just neede dto buy a new laptop that I really can't afford. But it was a choice of $300 for a new hard drive or $800 for a new (better) laptop. Bah! Anyway, my ex is offering to let me borrow hers because mine won't even ship till the 19th, but until I get it, I'll be lurking AGAIN! I'll try to at least pop in every day to say hi though. |
wow!
not a fan of the new layout at all. and EEEK! it changed my hairstyle without me saving my avi...that's not cool!!! |
Ok, got my quest thread done. Here is the link:
http://www.menewsha.com/viewtopic.php?t=23526 So, how do I get it in my siggy so I just have the words The Quest there and not the whole link? |
Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-CHIA!
I just had to say it. Yeah so how is everyone? |

*glomps all the Purkles* Thanks guys. <3
Uh, Juru... I hope your signature is a joke. >| *gets a stick for anyone mean* |
*huggles Chi* Yea I wish it were but after the last couple of days I've come to the conclusion that I'm not as cool as the young kids and that I must be a miserable old biddy to be spending a lot of time on this and other web sites. It also must mean that I am easy to con because I MUST be senile or something at my age... :?
|
What the hell. D<
There is nothing wrong in anyone spending their time online, regardless of age or anything else. What a crock of crap if I do say so myself. They don't know a thing about you. I assume this came about from a user or two getting pissy about your modding/admin decisions? |
Well, it's that, but it is also just things I have run in to while chatting on here. I'm pretty cool to talk to until people find out how old I am and then I become the motherly figure or some stupid shit and they start to avoid me.
Suddenly I'm not someone you can joke with or who has a sense of humor or who has likes or dislikes or loves and heartbreak. I cease to be a fun person to chat with but rather that desperate old woman who has nothing better to do. OMG you're HOW old?!! It just pisses me off, that's all. I'm sorry to rant. It's not something I usually do here. :( |
Juru, rant all you want. If this isn't something to be upset over, I don't know what is.
To be honest, I don't even know your actual age. I don't view age as much of anything, and even if you were seventy-five years old, I'd talk to you as my equal, you know? This may sound silly, but in the beginning of it all I thought maybe you guys wouldn't want to chat with me because I was so much younger. Now I see that's just not the case, and I'd like to think all of the regular Purkles here all respect and care for one another. I guess just screw 'em. There's not a thing wrong with you. They're just nitpicking. If you were 16 years old, you'd be too young to be a CM. If you're 30-40 years old, you're too young. The point is, no matter who and what you are, someone is always going to find something to bitch about, and nine times out of ten, they have absolutely no place to. D< |
I see the purkles as a big family. Sure, some of us leave for a time to explore places unknown but we always seem to find our way back to each other and we accept people for who they are.
Ugh... I don't know.. anymore it just seems like all I have been doing is ranting. How are you feeling? |
I like hearing rants. It seems all that the Purkle thread has been subjected to since late August is my whining over the whole gallbladder/insurance/everything else crap. At least it's done and over with.
I'm okay, just aching. I'm trying to take as little Percoset as possible since it screws my head up so much. I have black and blues in places I didn't think would be affected. The only actual problem I had was during surgical prep, but not the surgery itself, so I guess I didn't make out too badly. I ate spaghetti tonight and my stomach didn't explode, so I'll take that as a good sign. xD |
I can imagine you are sore but I'm glad things seem to be looking up now :)
I don't like taking medicine like that either. It makes me all loopy. I think I am actually going to break down and cook some fettuccine alfredo tonight and throw in some chicken and some veggies. |
Oh yummy. I love alfredo. Especially with chicken and spinach, or even broccoli.
Cole's been doing all the housework and stuff today. I feel so bad for him though because his computer died. It literally made a huge snapping sound and filled the office/guest room with smoke. e__e He's in there trying to salvage a machine together with all the spare parts he's had lying around. He says he can make it work 'till tax return time. Anything we get for the wedding up 'till then needs to be put toward the things we bought for the new apartment. I just hope my laptop lasts for another year or so! It sucks when we depend so much on our computers. What else do you reckon you'll do tonight? I can't believe it's Sunday already, but I think I lost a couple days with the whole surgery thing. :b I thought it was Saturday earlier. |
I got a huge bag of those California blend vegetables and some frozen spinach. I hadn't even thought about putting that in there... *ponders*
My computer in the office did that right before I started working from home. Just up and started smoking and making this clicking noise. I don't know what I would do without a computer. I mean I get paid to be on it so if this one were to die, ugh... *knocks on wood* I splurged and bought a Wii a couple days ago so I have been playing the sports games and we rented Zelda and one other strange bunny game. That is most likely what I'll be doing tonight. I thought about going somewhere but I really just don't feel like it. |
Oh! So you did decide to go for the Wii? Good for you. That was the one purchase I made this year that I didn't need, but that I wanted. n_n I don't regret it though, no way.
The Wii itself is fun, but the virtual console is nifty and full of nostalgia too. It's just an overall great machine. Cole has Zelda. He played through the Gamecube version first though, so he's been waiting until he forgets it before he plays the Wii version. I guess it's completely backwards. He got confused when realize that his memory (as in one place was east now meant it was west) was messing up how he was playing. xD I don't know what I'd do without my computer either. While I hang out on websites like Mene, I'm also doing all of my college from home this semester, and without a computer that'd be pretty much out the window. I'm just a bit hesitant because this laptop is starting to act finicky, much like it did before it died last May (I had it under warranty then... got it fixed JUST before it expired). o__o I just accidentally whacked myself in the tummy. Ooops. I've been doing stuff like that all day long. You'd think I'd learn!! |
I did my college online as well when I finally got myself together enough to finish. It was different and once you get used to the routine of being in an online class it gets easier. The only class I absolutely hated was statistics. It almost killed me.
I love my Wii so far. We've been having fun making little people and of course the kids say I suck and have no business being on it but they haven't learned that I practice so I can get better than them and wipe the floor with them. LMAO  Isn't that always the way it is....you whack yourself wherever it hurts, no matter where it is. |
XD Pretty soon you'll be wiping the floor with them like you said. <33
I'm fair at the bowling, but everything else I need to practice. >.> It's fun though. I want to eventually buy Cooking Mama. I think that could be fun. What I am loving is Trauma Center. I played through the DS version and loved it. The Wii version is more complicated, but it's very very fun. With college, I'll have to commute next semester. I'm hoping that by January I'll be pregnant (again, I got a clean bill of health save for the gallbladder thing o.O), which means from then until the baby's birth I'll want to get through just as much schooling as possible. I want to take as many core classes (and few are offered online unfortunately) so that when the babe's born I can take some online and break from the commute 'till he or she is old enough to tag along. They have a reliable day care right on campus, so that's helpful. I think if I keep at it, I can graduate by 1010. I'm going to try and take summer classes this year to move things along though. I want to get in and out as soon as possible. Statistics, I'm not looking forward to. I think it's available online, and I know Cole said he was good at it. I think he could help if I'm lost. I'll give it some thought. ^^ It's neither here nor there right now anyway. The spring semester catalog doesn't come out 'till next month. |
What is Trauma Center? I don't think I've heard of it. We have a DS here somewhere. It's pink. My daughter hides it from her brother all the time.
That was the thing when Cheyenne was little. I tried to go to a major university but the classes I had were all scattered miles apart. There was just no way I could go from one side of the school to the other AND be on time to pick her up. It was too much. I think if I go back for my masters I might try to do a little of online and in class work. |
What a pretty name! ;_;
For my classes, I know I have 3 or 4 to take after I graduate in order to get the certification I'll need, and that they're away from my campus. That won't be for quite some time though. It's a very daunting prospect though. I hope it all goes smoothly. I'm not sure on this, but I don't think I'll need to go for my master's. I suppose, in the end, it'd depend on the money I was making and if I were happy. Trauma Center is a surgery sim. It's by Atlus, a company that does some RPGs. The idea of the game starts out where you're a lacky who doesn't take his job very seriously, but eventually he becomes inspired to be a great doctor once the world is hit by this strange virus. (And the virus makes for some pretty whacky surgical procedures. xD) |
