The year I was born Elizabeth was the 10th most popular girl name. In 2007 it was still at 10th place. I was supposed to be a boy so they did not have any girl names picked so when I was born my dad was like "Lets name her after my mom. Lets name her Delma." I'm not into my real name much (Nicolo). It sounded fine when I was a kid (cute and all) but it's not as hot to hear it from other's lips as I grew older. Not that anyone teased me about it or anything but it bothers me because for some reason some say it in this small strained singsong way. So I usually say my name's Nic, let them make of it as they will unless I'm close to them (my best friend calls me Col). I know it's a small thing but hey it's a name I have to live it.

My real name is Naomi, it's Japanese and is often confused for the Hebrew name spelt the same way. My name means "honest" and "beautiful". My mom had the name picked out since she was a little girl and my middle name Mieko is my grandmother's name and means "prosperous" or something along those lines. Well, my legal name is 'Hannah'. My parents named me after some biblical woman because they are both huge strict Christians. They were originally going to name me 'Sarah'. BUT! - in my early teens I realized that 'Hannah' wasn't really who I was...so I found my own name. I've been going by 'Anna' ever since, and am probably going to get my name legally changed to it. That name is composed with the prefix xeno-,which means something outside,something out the border,and the suffix -phon,which designate a person. So,that name means the Outsider. And my name is the feminine version of Outsider. I think it is quite ironic,since now I live in a country which isn't mine and where I could never be really home,and speak a language which isn't mine. I really do deserve my name. My real name is Caroline and I like it a lot :) Its origins lie in the old Germanic word Karl, meaning "free man". My parents gave me this name because they liked the sound of it, and because my mother's grandmother was called Carolina. (Funny story actually, when my parents went to visit her in the elderly home and took newborn me with them, they told her they named me Caroline, and my great-grandmother replied "What kind of parent would give their child such an UGLY name?" :XD The poor woman was so demented she barely recognized her family.)
