I think it was Sailor Moon, anime (I've never read manga). I was in kindergarten and even didn't know what anime is, but I was watching it like crazy xp I remember that it was on the TV about 8 or 9 AM and at that time I was always in kindergarten already, so my parents were recording it for me on video and when I was coming back I could see the episode! For quite a long time I had all these episodes recorded, then unfortunately I started earasing them by recording new things *stupid Sirocco! D;*
And my first manga ever was Chobits. But then I already knew what manga & anime is ;p |
Astro Boy, way back when it was first introduced to North America in the late 80s or early 90s; I'm not too sure since I don't really remember watching it but my mom says I loved it.
|
Like most others in my age group, Pokemon. Also like most others, I had no idea it was anime. I just thought it was a cute cartoon XD
The first 'real' anime I saw was Chobits. I really wanted to watch it because Chobits was (and still is n 3n) my favourite manga. My first manga was .Remote. Kind of gory, but quite a good storyline. Needless to say, I soon graduated to bigger and better things, like Love Hina and Chobits. |
the first series that I watched were Pkemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. However I don't recognize them as real anime so my real first was Evangelion.
|
Technically, it was My Neighbor Totoro, but I was like 4. It doesn't count. >_o
Then, when I was 6 or 7, I was obsessed with Sailor Moon, but that doesn't count either. Pokemon when I was 10, which also doesn't count, cause I still didn't know what anime was. In the end, it was Inuyasha when I was 13. I loved, and still love Inuyasha. Sesshomaru is my fluffykins. ;3; I don't remember my first manga. xD When I first got into this stuff when I was 13, my anime-loving friends had me so stocked up on manga that it fell out of my locker. xD I'm thinking Magic Knight Rayearth. Or...maybe Ranma? o.o But yeah, there was like 20 different series that I was reading. >.< Maybe Tokyo Mew Mew...? |
the infamous nostalgia topics...
due to research from friends and all.. we discovered we were already watching anime when we were, like 2 years old. put in mind that me and friends are already older then 25. Niels Holgerson Ms teaspoon Maya the bee Dr Snuggle mapletown very old anime, but good stuff |
The first two I was introduced to was Beyblade and Shinzo, still love those, it's hard to let old favorite go XD then I became a fan of Tokyo Mew Mew and Fruits Basket.
|
Hm let me think...
when i remember rightly then i would sayin that i watched many animes before i really understood what the differece between anime and toons is. So i would say my first non-know-thats-an-anime-is were maya the bee, niels holgerson, heidi, anne from greengables and so on. But it was definitely Sailor Moon from which i was so ardent that i even startet to draw my first anime pictures during i watched each episods after the school,i think i was in the primary school ...maybe second or third class, after that many other animes make my passion for animes growin. And of course i startet to collect mangas too,and it was sailor moon too, which i started to collect first. Nowadays i´ve got many anime and mangas but SM was and will ever be that anime that i liked the most and that once that bring me the anime/manga genre closer . |
First ever? Inuyasha. Much against my will, as I recall.
I kept swearing he had Cat ears so it made no sense to call him INU-yasha. (inu=dog, for those who don't know) Ages later, I got into it more as I rediscovered it by accident. I have a lot of the manga in Japanese, thought it would be good practice in learning the language to have something 'fun' to work with. Didn't work out so well since I wasn't really at the level where I could do that. That was soooo long ago, though. I've been hooked into quite a few series since then, both anime and manga. Took a while to convert me, though. |
First ever would be Sailor Moon, then Pokemon. :)
|
I remember being given a video of Akira in the early 90s (this was before anime really hit over in the UK). I loved it. My first major series that I saw was Sailor Moon. My first manga was Magic Knight Rayearth (still have it in my drawers).
|
first manga is sailor moon, and series was sailor moon, tenshi or card captor sakura was what started it all for me anyway. I own a lot of card captors stuff.
|
First anime I ever watched before I even knew what anime was is Miazaki's Tortoro (I'd rent it as a kid every week I just loved it), and then Sailor Moon in grade school. :3
|
yeah, totoro is way older than some other stuff for me, but I don't remember when in my life I saw it. First anime bought was card Captors though, english dub on VHS, but it wasn't till later that I get DVDs and such for miyazaki films, like I got mononoke hime a while back, so my copy is really old, like as old as my DVD player :P
|
Sailor Moon was the first anime that I was introduced to. My mother caught me watching it and threw a fit: something about the lack of good, wholesome, non-squeaky, home-grown cartoons of modern times.
She also mentioned something about Speed Racer and Kimba the White Lion, but I never got around to seeing either of them. I was really into Sailor Moon, which quickly lead into Dragonball Z (which I absolutely loathe to this day) and Cowboy Bebop (which I still adore!). |
Oh, the first anime that I was introduced to was either Pokemon or Digimon. I'm not quite sure which one was first. XD My parents, when me and my brother were younger, just let us watch "cartoons" every morning or night. It was funny, I remember my brother wanted to watch Digimon and I wanted to watch Pokemon and then we were grabbing the remote from each other. XD
|
I'm going to try and remember just what it was, but give me a little time...here I THINK this is the list to which animes I was introduced to (and liked)
*Sailor Moon *Pokemon *Princess Mononoke (Does this count? It was a movie, not an anime series...) *Yu Yu Hakusho (my sister used to watch this a lot...) *Rurouni Kenshin *Chrono Crusade *DNAngel (I loved the manga...) *Saiyuki *Scrapped Princess *Ouran High School Host Club *Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Which might just be my very favorite anime of all time...) ...So, yes. I know I might have gotten a little off topic, but I suppose my first anime was Sailor Moon. It MIGHT have been pokemon, but it's a very close call either way. |
i was actually given a manga and anime preview book by a friend XD
The i read psychic academy, then DearS, then mhoromatic automatic maiden, then Furuba Note- Furuba = Fruits basket I now have a small growing collection of manga, of 28 books not including preview books, and i draw anime and manga also. I also, watch a damn lot of anime XD My favourite is Zombie Loan ^.^ *makes note to self- i should watch that later* |
The first actual manga I was introduced to was...well, it was really Sailor Moon, but I didn't know it at the time. My mom bought it for me from Hot Topic...like eight years ago. It was crazy...I thought it was a coloring book. >_>
And then she also bought me the ones that looked like comic books, so...do those count? Probably. The first manga I ever bought was Chrono Crusade. :D I still read that series; I liked it a lot. My sister got Rurouni Kenshin, and I think that while we were shopping for that manga...well, that was when I got interested in Chrono Crusade becuase she took too long. |
Pokemon. 8D
But the first manga I read was Fruits Baskert (vol. 12) x3 |
It was sailor moon for me.
I was obessed with the anime when i was young. Reading bios knowing there blood types. Yeah obsessive much. ^___^; |
my first ever-ever-ever was in kindergarten when i watched doraemon. i used to luv that show :D
|
There was pokemon, and then from some random internet wandering I found out about them, and that they could be downloaded, and ended up watching Love Hina. And the first I bought was Pita ten.
|
That would be Sailor Moon or Samurai Pizza Cats... I can't remember which was first...
...I would love to see them again now xD |
My first anime was Pokemon, then Cardcaptors and Digimon. Just what was shown on TV when I was younger. I didn't see any anime for a couple of years, then I got internet access and remembered the cartoons I used to love so I looked them up...
Turns out there were a lot more where they came from. X3 My first manga was .Hack//Legend of the Twilight. It's a short series, only 3 volumes, but it was what got me into the whole .Hack// series. ^ w^ It's a lot less serious than the games or .Hack//Sign, and it's just... I really love it. X3 Characters you can care about, even in such a short time, plenty of action... And it's a lot of fun to read. :3 |
