Well the first anime I was introduced to was probably either DBZ or sailor moon (both were on the cartoon on TV in Taiwan back in the later 90's) However, I wasn't really aware of or into anime until two years after I move to USA. So technically speaking, my first anime/manga series that got me addicted to anime was called KODOMO NO OMOCHA or Kodocha for short. I was pretty satisfied with the anime until the ending xD (it was the randomest ending ever D: ) But anyhow, the anime series was pretty good, at least that was what I felt at that time ---- I cried, laughed, displayed all type of emotion possible when I watched this series. It was what got me started on anime so it takes a special place in my heart even though now, after becoming aware of a lot more manga series, Kodocha seems pale in comparison ^^;

Likewise, the first manga that got me addicted to it was Rurouni Kenshin, which my classmates in fifth grade were reading, and I borrowed it to read and became interested. First anime that got me interested was Gundam Wing, which I watched around the same time as I got started with Rurouni Kenshin.
@Lawliet: You used to live in Taiwan? o: |
Fading [email protected] Rurouni Kenshin was the second manga series I gotten into...*still have to buy all 28 volumes in japanese xD*
Yes, I used to about 9 years ago ^^; I go back almost every summer to visit relatives =] |
I think the first anime I ever saw was Dragonball. There might have been a movie before it, but Dragonball is what sticks out in my memory. The first manga I think I ever read was Oh! My Goddess lent to me by my friend Jacquie in grade 9 (14 then I think), and the same year I got my first manga Chobits volume 3 I think. XD |
I would say it was back in the 80's when Unico was on Disney, and Thundercats and Voltron were on the air. I watched them all the time! then later on in the 90's I was a Sailor Moon addict, watching it when it came on TV later moving to Cartoon network's Toonami block. I miss that block..it brought so much anime to TV! Then in college, my friends introduced me to Slayers and Project A-ko and from there it was downhill in terms of anime experience and watching and stuff. Joined a club, went to cons, founded a club, founded a con and here I am!

first manga: Tokyo mewmew
First anime:Sailor moon |
Kaleido Star/Stage or YuYuHakusho or KiddyGrade. Lol =3 :P Sorry but I don't remember...
|
My first anime was Robotech on saturday mornigns and possibly voltron at the same time.
My first real manga was : Ranma 1/2 viz My older brother was really into this stuff, so I watched it as the younger sibling trying to be like him. |
The first anime that I really got into and that I knew was anime is Sailor Moon. I also got into Manga because of the Sailor Moon manga. I have some Sailor Moon manga but I wish I had them all, it's rare to find them now.
I liked Voltron and other such anime but I didn't know it was anime back then. |
My first anime was Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z
My first manga was Death Note |
Inuyasha was my first anime/manga ever. I remember searching through the television channels one night and that one caught me. I think it was the hentai monk that caught my interest lol Well, after that, I watched Inuyasha every night...the bad thing was that I started in the middle of the series :( So, I saw the end before the beginning haha

Sailor Moon! Of course, it was the crappy edited version, but hey. It was my first manga because my mom saw I liked the show so much and she found them for free on some website once. Ah, memoriiiiieees~...
|
Hm...Pokemon, Sailor Moon and Dragonball are my first anime's I remember.
And I have yet to get my firts manga... |
Card Captor Sakura. l still love it!!
|
For me, it was Inuyasha. When I moved away for college, I got put into an apartment with three other people who drove me up a wall. So I spent a lot of time in the evenings in my room with the door locked. I'd put something, anything on the television so I didn't have to hear them carrying on. I'm not sure how I happened upon the Adult Swim anime block (back when Adult Swim used to consistently show good stuff instead of just one night a week) but eventually, I saw a couple of Inuyasha episodes. I kinda ignored the first one I saw, but after I kinda half paid attention to a few, I really started to get interested. Frankly, I think that if Adult Swim had the schedule back then that they have now, I would never have gotten hooked on anime. I can't imagine how much I would be missing.

Sailor moon was my first Manga. I still love that series to this day. I think the 2nd one that i read was Paradise kiss. It's sad how Manga has changed over the years and is not as good as it used to be.
|
I think my first manga i read, was Ranma ½. Or oh, i watched Sailor Moon on TV when i was smaller i guess.. I didnt really like it too much though or watched it very often, so i dont know if it counts. I still like Ranma<3
|
The first anime I ever saw was probably Pokemon, and the first on I've seen that wasn't made for children was Chobits.
|
My first was Pokemon or Sailor Moon when I was 5. So long ago.
I was really obsessed with both. XD Dolls, cards, etc. |
Sailor Moon was the first manga I read.
Digimon, and then Pokemon I started watching both of them around the same time so they're both kinda the first anime I've watched. |
I was never really into manga, so I don't know what my first manga was.
My dad was into anime though, so I grew up with Robotech, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Princess Mononoke, and Nausicaa. So yes, I grew up with the old school classics! :D |
My first anime was Pokemon. I LOVED it!!! I even had the little pokedex handbooks things! It was so cute I still have the first 7 episodes on VCR. I love the original versions of Pokemon. My first Manga was Naruto. I just love it I read it ALL the the time and I don't know why!
|
The first anime I knew was Death Note, but it was scary so i did not watched it.....
|
For Anime, it was definitely Pokemon ^-^
-I loves it- But for Manga, it was Strawberry Panic. -I have a lot of gay friends- |
My first anime was Inuyasha. My brother introduced me to it. I remember being SO CONFUSED.
"Why does that kid have a fox tail?" "What's up with that guy's [Myoga] nose?" And, of course, the ultimate anime-newb (and sometimes not-newb) question: "Is that a girl or a guy?" My first manga was Ranma 1\2. My brother was reading it, and he was all, "It's too adult for you." To which I predictably replied, "Is not!" and I picked up a volume and started reading it. After I got over all the nakedness and everything, I found it to be funny in a slapstick way. But yeah, I probably could've waited a couple years on that one...? Oh well. Not like it's really "adult" in that way. But I probably shouldn't have read it at 12 years of age. |
