my very first anime was Inuyasha. I kinda just stumbled across it on Cartoon Network and loved the music so much that I kept watching it week to week. soon after that my friend introduced me to Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist. I've been a Bleach fan ever since, but never really got into FMA. Of course now I'm an anime addict. lol

My very first animes were Sailor Moon and Pokemon (if you consider Pokemon an anime), but the first anime I actually knew by the name of anime was InuYasha. I loved that show. I would get up at two o' clock in the morning to watch it on Adult Swim. I loved it. InuYasha was always so cute and funny, but Sesshomaru was my favorite character.

i would come home everyday from school and at 4 i would watch dbz and what ever followed. I eventually saw almost every episode of dbz. i think i might have missed like 2 or 3 because i had to do homework Xp. haha

ah the good ole' days. i read shonen jump magazines like no other too. omg soooo good. You know hakaru no go? i though it was going to be the stupidest thing ever but i ended up getting addicted lol.

oh but i guess inuyasha and fullmetal alchemist are a close tie for favorates. but i also LOVE;

My first anime was Vision of Escaflowne, I think. That or Dragon Ball Z, my memory is a little vague that far back.
The first I truly loved was probably Full Metal Alchemist, much later.

As far as manga goes, I'm shameful to admit that my first was Tokyo Mew Mew.

First anime? Either Sailor Moon or DBZ, I can't remember which, they both went on TV about the same time (cartoon network had Sailor Moon and another channel had DBZ for a while until Cartoon Network later picked it up)

My first manga was X/1999, my mother bought me one of the volumes and I fell in love with it. I now have all of them except for the final volume that hasn't been released due to controversy in Japan.

When i watched them i didn't know they were
animes in till I was like 7 or 8. =3

@Mihosama: That show was Ronin Warriors!!! omg, I loved that show! I'm so glad most of the people seem to be my age and they remember the stuff from at least a decade ago. It used to be on Toonami or was it before? Toonami was the best. That is until they changed the robot host's body design and what was played on that program. I remember Ryo as the red ronin, and the tiger's name was whiteblaze. Also, one of the evil guys name was Anubis, I loved him too. Everything else I had to look up with google to remember the names.

First anime: DBZ!!! Channel surfing introduced me to the world of anime...I found my first true love...
First manga: Can't remember but I think it was...oh geeze...Ceres Celestial Legend? My friend lent it to me...not 100% if that was the first though...
First anime movie: Gundam Wing the Endless Waltz (i think, that or one of the sailor moon ones) <3<3<3 oh memory lane!!!

Hmm....well I believe it would be Dragonball and then Sailor Moon. Then it went to Pokemon and Digimon. Ha ha ha... I was obsess with Sailor Moon that I wake up at 5 am in the morning just to watch it. Did not know what anime was back then.

I was exposed to Anime when I was really little. The first ones I remember watching were Starblazers, Grandizer, the original Vultron, and the original G Force. Grandizer was always my favorite... I wish they would put it on dvd...

Hehe... yeah we had starblazers and grandizer on vhs tapes... but that was like 20 years ago before they had cartoon network and stuff like that ... and anime wasn't as well known.

I remember watching something at my cousins house when I was young. I think it was an anime because I remember thinking that the big eyes bothered me! lol
I can only recall very little of it. There was a girl who was looking for someone and she stopped at this Inn and in the distance were these big green hills.

But something that I actually knew was anime at the time. Was some random stuff on the sci-fi channel back in the early '90's when they used to show anime every saturday morning. Then in the summers they would show some classic movies.

Other stations had Robotech, Voltron and Tenchi Muyo on Cartoon network. Oh my Goddess on vhs, and of course a '90's fave Sailor Moon.

I hadn't watched much of Dragon Ball untill the latter '90's even though my friend was a huge fan. Also saw Outlaw star when it was first on same with Gundam. Then Cowboy Bepop came out a some years latter. Also watched the Slayers tapes my sister had bought when she was in college.

Only started watching Inyu-Yasha in the past year of so. When it was first on tv his voice bothered me too much so I didn't want to watch it. Also saw Diginmon I guess the first generation don't know what the exact name ofthe series was. Oh yeah Escaflowne was another one. Saw a bit of Rayearth on a bootleg tape too before it was actually avaiable in the states I think

I'm sure there's a few more but these are probably the main ones up untill the '00's.

First ones I saw were Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Tenchi Muyo, Yu-Yu-Hakusho, Digimon and MAR.

wow first animes I saw: ranma 1/2, dragon ball z, slam dunk,pokemon,sailor moon and inuyasha.

Fushigi Yuugi was my first! My friend introduced me to it, and I fell in love with it instantly. We watched through two entire story arcs without stopping. After that, we watched Neon Genesis Evangelion, then Haibane Renmei (which is, to this day, my absolute favorite anime).

First read manga in the pages of Animerica. I had read a bit of X/1999 and Galaxy Express 999. Latter on they had a preview of Inyu-Yasha. Those are still some of my favorites.
