I'm don't think it's random, it does have to do wit the length of your post. But it seems to me I've gotten more gold for posting less. =/

I don't think you could really code a gold system to grant gold randomly. Well, I guess you could, but it'd be a little weird.

Anyways, it can't be random if it's length-based--there has to be a certain ammount of gold granted per character.

I bet you get some starting amount for actually putting down a post.

That may vary depending on if you start a subject or if you add to a subject perhaps, I'm not sure.

Then it's gold per letter, or possibly per word, kinda like a wordcount.

They might also have something where if you haven't posted in a long time you get a slightly higher ratio for the first x posts. I dunno. Cause in Gaia they have something kinda along those lines, where your first post is 50g, then later it's like 19, 16, 14...etc. And if you don't post for 3 hours and post it's back up to 20g or something.

All I know is you get at least 1g per post with a maximum of 20g.

it is for certain that longer you post, more gold you get

No..there has to be a formula since some of gold comes out in decimals. I think someone posted the formula already in another thread...but the starting amount is 0.01g..

So the idea is that it automatically gives you one gold for posting, but then if you edit your post it takes it away? That makes sense. I don't get why they set up the gold to get taken away at all. That seems.. foolish. o.o;
