Favorite MMO

Alright I was thinking of going to the gaming area and chat about gaming, but realized there isnt an area for pc gaming or anything like that. So I figured I'd make a general discussion on MMORPG gaming. Which is your favorite? If its not on the list please feel free to post about it and share what makes it your favorite.

Discussion:
Why is your choice your favorite MMO?
Whats it have that appeals to you more then the others that you've played?

Note: My intended games are not text based, if thats one of your choices please share it with us.

Also I know that there are the fanboys out there that are hardcore to one game and put down all the others. Please refrain from that. If anyone insists on putting down a game they should at least have some valid points in their argument and able to support them.

There is an area for video/PC games. It's a subforum in the Media section. Please PM a mod to have it moved there.

My favorite MMOG is Furcadia. Though, it is described bettre as an MMOSG. >.> Because its not in charactre all the time. I'm also beginning to think I'm the only Furcadian on Menewsha. Or maybe anthromorphic avatars aren't as popular as I once thought. Though, Furc has been around for ten years. And I have been there for six of those ten. ^^
If anyone was to want to learn more about it, I'd point them in the direction of eithre the website: www.furcadia.com
or the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furcadia
Or they could simply talk to me. <.<

Sankyuu Mike~

But NOW I shall answer. For me, my favorite MMO is Guild Wars. Beautifully done, simplistic and smooth yet engaging combat system, and while it does have a goodly number of annoying little twats (like every other MMO to exist), it's still got it's share of great people.

Plus, Paragons are the coolest things to exist. End of story.

Thanks Mike^^

OT:

Since I neglected to post it in the first post I'll put it here.

Mine is Guild Wars. I've been playing since the Beta for the first chapter and fell in love with the game. Its semi-realistic(in looks, not cartoony looking) and has wonderful graphics. Since its release they put out 2 more chapters to it that are standalones and are just as good as the first one. Many different styles of playing exist in both the PvE(player vs environment) and the PvP(player vs player) facits of the game. Nearly 2 years old now and boasts over 3 million sales and still going strong.

I have played several others including most the ones I put into the poll(WoW, FFXI and CoH/V) and while all great games in their own rights they just didnt hold me like GW has and still is.

Edit:
Alegretto: I'm guessing you play paragon then. hehe. They are a great class. I, myself, prefer monks, but I've also played one for nearly 2 years. I plan on making another thread solely about GW and would welcome another to chat in it with me^^

Alegretto 04-13-2007 02:11 AM

OOH. Fellow GW being! 8D We should quest together sometime or something.

I don't play MMOs anymore but I guess FFXI~! Though it takes a lot of time to get settled in it D:

My Favorite MMOs have to be Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Universe..

I think they are the greatest MMOs of all time.. even tho they are not based on giant worlds were you can get lost in.. like in WOW (don't get me wrong i like WoW). but it has a nice presence.. its more casual, and people actually play with you.. and enjoy doing so.
