Y: the Last Man
I noticed that there was no topic on this comic, which is really very great, and so I decided to make one where we could discuss it.
Quote:
Just to get the ball rolling, let's talk about the relationships (and not just the romantic ones). Yorrick and Beth, Yorrick and the other Beth, Yorrick and 355, Yorrick and Hero, his mother, his father. They mention that he had friends breifly in one of the issues, but it was a very angsty mentioning.... |
I am so excited that the series is coming to an end, but at the same time it's upsetting. The suspense kills me!
I'm not sure what will happen if/when Beth and Yorick are reunited, because reading back through their first conversation, it sounded like she wanted to break up with him. |
Yay. Y: The Last Man is amazing. Sadly, I'm a little behind in my reading of it. I hope to rectify that soon. Yorick and Hero are definitely my favorite characters.

Ive looked at the series a few times, never actually bought a TPB though.
I definitely will once I get more money, the series seems awesome. @[email protected] |
Y: The Last Man
I recently started reading this series and so far really like it. I find Yorick a little irritating, especially his preachy bits in volume 2 - but want to keep reading the series, especially after the reveal at the end of vol 2. I think I heard somewhere it's being turned into a movie?
Oh, and as for the plot - from wiki - Quote:

My hubby just finished reading this, and he's been raving about how good it is.
I'm planning on reading it once I finish Fables. |
Hmm, it sounds good. Thanks for the inadvertent recomendation.
Edit: Ok, so I searched it to look for it online, and appartently there may be a movie of it kind of soon-ish! Link: http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/06/22/...-for-the-film/ |
It's an excellent read. I wasn't as enamored with the second half of the story as I was with the first half, but it's still one of the best comics I've ever read.
...Ugh. Shia LaBeouf as Yorick? No! Ryan Gosling is the far superior choice. |
I'm definitely going to have to suggest this to my sister as the next one to read together. I love sci-fi stories like that.
|
I especially valued that Yorick was an English major, because English majors need more love (I mean. . .not biased.) Alas, I really enjoyed the comic until it came time for the explanations. Not to spoil anything, but their conclusions kind of. . .fail. I was also hoping they would do more with the Doc's cloning project (hers, not her father's.)
No work is perfect, but I think this is a really great read. I enjoyed it and was sad when I turned the last page. |
i love this comic
|
I loved this comic so much when I started reading it. I have to agree that as it went on I got more and more O_o in places, but i did thoroughly enjoy it all the way to the end. And quite an interesting concept.
|
@ Alegretto I will definitely break down in tears if Shia LaBeouf plays Yorik. Really, ANYONE but him.
Not good looking + Not a good actor + Not interesting + failing every movie I've seen him in = The annihilation of potentially good movies. |
I'm only up to the trade issue #6 but I am sooo loving this! Also love AmpersandI mean really how can you not love a rambuncious capuchin who has learned the escape techniques of houdini?!
