Hey guys! I've been looking around for a good place to post, and of course I stumbled across this thread. <3

You can call me Riv, Riva, Rivayne, 'hey you', or anything else your heart desires! I'm 19, I'm a Gemini/Cancer cusp zodiac sign, and I'm left-handed. *o* I joined Mene on April 10th, but a reason that I can't remember at the moment made me go poof. (Or maybe I melted? XD) I'm back now to join in the fun!

And wow, I'm a little intimidated by nearly 2000 posts. O_O Wow! What a time to come in. <3

... And I just got word that dinner is done, so I'm going to go eat! I hope to be able to get to know some of you when I get back. ^^

EDIT: Remind me to post the form on the first page when I get back! <3

Moon 09-14-2007 03:06 AM

Woo >:B Almost there !

Secret 09-14-2007 03:07 AM

  • Trinity, the only downfall to those two movies is they are not in English, so most people don't get the full effect of how creepy they can be since they have to read the subtitles lol.

The faun in Pan's Labyrinth was so freaky!

I liked the Shining a lot, but I prefered the original to the remake, not sure why. Maybe it's because of the actors. That new guy just didn't play up as well as Jack did in the first one. My favorite Stephen King movie was prolly Maximum overdrive. It was more silly than scary, but I really liked it!

ladyumbra 09-14-2007 03:09 AM

Creepiest non english movie = Ringu ( But it is suck a good damn movie, suffer the subtitles and see it people)
Creepiest english = The candyman

Trinitydoll 09-14-2007 03:14 AM

well I watch movies with subtitles 99% of the times hehe i like original sound and voice in english (i speak spanish) but i understand the total meaning since im a teacher of english so...still I always prefer original, otherwise it sounds so artificial and it loses minimun of 40% of meaning >.<
I loved both versions of the shining i think both are good , book is better hehe as usual, idk in the new one the kid is pretty good actor and they explain it better at the end...anyways on the first one the twins were scarier >.< ahhhhhhh *remembers and scares herself!
I loved the omen new and old one ...ah im a fan of classics but the ring and modern japanese horror movies are pretty scary too...i wonder why japanese ones are so scary i have come to a conclusion and it is that ...mm since we dont know their faces much ...we find it more scary when fear comes in those japanese white unexpressive faces xD just my idea

Moon 09-14-2007 03:14 AM

I freaking loved Pan's Labyrinth.
That movie is great. <3
I want to buy it.

edit: hell yeah first post at 2k. >:B !!

ladyumbra 09-14-2007 03:15 AM

oh and candyman? xP that is for kids!!! it is like nightmare on elm street i used to be scare of that being 10! lol no offense

Trinitydoll 09-14-2007 03:21 AM

2000 pages congratulations everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *throws confetti!!!
Congratulations Moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you have just won the contest!!!! <3333

ladyumbra 09-14-2007 03:24 AM

Never seen the call no, but i may put it on my list.

Lol I can easily handle the saw movies and Hostel and pretty much any other horror movie you can name. Something about the Candyman upsets me. Mostly the bee's , I can.t do bugs at all they creep the fuck out of me. So no candyman for me but hey I'd love to shake the hands of Jack the ripper, or see inside his mind.

Woot! 2K!

Pan's Labyrinth rocked but my hubby and I didn't realize there was going to be such graphic violence. After the initial shock we really got into the movie.

Trinitydoll 09-14-2007 03:27 AM

well yeah now i get it
I dont like bloody movies like hostel no no no i like it when it is more psycological (sp) see?
@Moon pm me ok?

Moon 09-14-2007 03:31 AM

I prefer psychologycal horror movies too.
But if they can be bloody AND psychological... better. xD

GeminiKizzy 09-14-2007 03:32 AM

See I can handle psychological but I can't handle blood and gore all that well. Probably because I have an active imagination and will get nightmares.

Moon 09-14-2007 03:33 AM

What I hate is that nowadays ... Horror movies automatically, for some reason, includes naked women and lots of boobness. D:<
Wth.
I want naked men !

:]

ladyumbra 09-14-2007 03:38 AM

From hell is both gory and psychological. I love movies that make me think and honestly while Hostel may not me the Saw trio is. To think like jigsaw and have moral dilemmas for both killer and victims. To see people tested and weigh their choices is amazing.

To a degree Cry wolf ( known to our group as the british kid did it) is also psychological and quite enjoyable.

Yess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally agree. But they have to be good looking guys. For some reason movies will fill the cast with hot chicks, some good looking guys, and then the guys you can't stand to look at.

Secret 09-14-2007 03:39 AM
