why do we use our same screen name everywhere?
 

I think I use the same name (or similar versions of) pretty much everywhere so I'm not having to sit down and think, "OK, what name was I going by here?" each time I go to a different place. Especially if you end up joining many different places, sometimes its easiest not to have to wonder which name you registered under. I do actually have a few places where I've used different names, but as for my Aliena name - that follows me around the most. Plus, when you do go to similar sites that the same people might frequent (such as art sites, avatar sites, pixel sites, etc), it's nice for them to be able to recognize you. As for password, no. I used different passwords different places for security reasons. And you wouldn't believe how many times I've had to have my password emailed back to me because I've forgotten what I've used! lol

As for the pride thing, pride in my avvy, screenname, etc., I don't think that's my reason. It's more of a recognizing others thing. Though I do want a pretty avvy too! But when I'm able, I tend to change clothes all the time, so it's not like my avvy's recognizable as one thing.

I have two usernames I use mainly. ^^ It's awsome when you bump into someone and they're like 'hey, are you the same ___ from __?' It's easier to keep in contact with friends ^_^

i agree with aliena. it's mostly the fact that i want to easily remember my username.
but sometimes my usernames for smaller communities do change, depending on my current fascination. when i'm currently in love with some anime, book or whatever, i tend to use some names out of those. especially when i don't want people to recognize me right away.
my username for menewsha, though, was chosen after my username on gaia. i had in mind the fact that many people from menewsha came from gaia, so i thought maybe somebody recognizes me. ^^
and about my passwords? i won't tell that :p

I use the same screen name just about everywhere - mostly it's so I don't have to try and remember who I am on each site I use.

I have a short list of passwords that I use for sites like this and I have more secure passwords that I use for banking and important stuff like that. The secure words are not repeated on any other site as my word - but for here and a couple other play sites I have the same word. It's easier to remember that way.

I don't think it's really pride or anything like that - it is nice for friends to be able to recognize me from site to site - but mostly this is about my faulty memory. ;)

well yes that's nice I agree and also the passwords thing i have like a short list.
I also agree with what Aliena thinks, it is easier to be one everywhere, it is not nice when someone that have seen your names uses it (i mean names like mine that are not frequent) on a site and so you cannot be who you always are and worst when ppl think you are that person and that person is an ass...god yes that have happened to me >.<
or people that like you for a reason and uses for example TRINITYDOLL2 ohh that really pisses me off sigh....why do they have to do that, it is like idk I feel they steal me or something I chose this screen name I dont want anybody else to use it sigh am I being greedy or crazy? It is like part of my identity what do you think?

For me, it's like, that's just my username, I am going to remember it. Some people might also recognize me from a game or perhaps a site, but it depends, since I go by other usernames on certain forums. xD

I usually tell the people that I remember that I am whatever person from a gane or other forums. xD 8)

I think some people have stolen my usernames, because they are so cleverfully made. xD I've seen people steal my idea of a mooglebunny too, though. The earliest mooglebunnys I've seen are from late 10/05, and I made mine in like, 8/05. >.> :?

I like using the same name againa and if I meet other people they can recognize me ^^ Plus, it easier to remember what name I have over the web

Im saving for it even thoug my siggy says something different lol I saw the chinese dress later and i didnt know it was from teh stores, i thought it was a special item >.< (im new) and so now im too lazy to change it heh besides the other dress on my siggy is nice too ^^

and about pretending to be someone else when you were 12 well you would be amazed on how many people does that, even grown up people does it and some even pretend to be other gender and have bf or gf online, yeah bizarre but true.

I usually use 3 or 4 different names. Mainly "That Handsome Devil", "Atomic Sky", "Ramstien" or "Spoone" or any variations of.

• I started off using the same username wherever i went i thought that no one would remember me if i changed it.
  
  But then i got bored of my old one .. and it felt a bit n00bish because it had numbers in and didn't sound very original. I had to make it up on the spot because the site i was joining on had a certain time limit to complete it.
  
  But i feel it's a part of me now. And although it isn't quite relevant during winter .. it gives me a warm summery kind of feeling. And smell actually.

I was originally going to use Persuis on here, just as I do on many other sites, but I realized that I could have Hollie as my screen name, and that would be cool.

I go by Hollie on all my other sites, seeing as it is my given name, so I figured that I might as well take it here.

As for passwords, I have about 10 different pieces of passwordness, and I lop them together. So, most of my passwords are different, but the same enough that I don't forget them.
